2 pci-e slots, "military grade motherboard," a extremely snug am3 slot! This board has every thing you require assuming that you don't mind if it powers on without audio or video. The item doesn't work. Right after reading testimonials from the last two weeks on this item, it seems that much more people have been returning the item rather than maintaining it. I have owned an msi 790fx-gd70, two msi radeon 3870 x2 cards, and a msi netbook more than the last handful of years. Though i loved msi in the previous, i really feel that this is a dieing relationship. It looks awesome. Military Class doesn't mean it is going to operate. I have been creating computers professionally for more than 15 years, and have generally been a die challenging Asus buyer. When I initial saw MSI's "Military Class" boards, I knew I had to attempt them out. I originally bought this board back in July of 2010, it worked for a month ahead of it quit posting. I sent it back to MSI, and soon after 3 WEEKS, they sent the Exact very same board back to me (not a replacement). This time, it worked for just over two months. Once again, I RMA the board, and once more, I waited 3 weeks (That was in October ཆ). It's now March 2011, and I'm sending in the board for the 3rd time, with the Exact very same problem. For some purpose, MSI refuses to replace my board with a NEW 1, and can not offer you a decent explanation why. That's just undesirable small business. I'm not going to wait three weeks for this board to come back once more, as I am shopping for an additional Asus board tonight. When the Same MSI board comes back, it's going the shooting range with me to get a 21 gun salute, and a right "Military" funeral. It looks truly awesome and looks nice with my radeon 6850 and sleek gskill ram. It arrived DOA. I bought it about 2 months ago. I held on to it even though i got all of my other comp components. I got my parts about a day ago and set anything up but absolutely nothing showed up on the screen when i turned it on. Every little thing was plugged in appropriate and i switched my video card to make sure it wast that but nothing at all. Apparently this is relatively prevalent amongst this motherboard. Retain this is thoughts when you buy this. I bet this motherboard is wonderful but i wouldn't know mainly because it didn't function. Works properly, minimal difficulties if I wanted to overclock,Would have offered five if I didn't have some issues For some cause the usb ports exceeded the max energy limit for the ports? According to Windows at least that's the concern. When I'm playing pc games my keyboard and mouse(both usb) disconnect and reconnect. no problems with the front usb hub I have connected to it doesn't have these concerns so it must be the motherboard from some explanation. If it didn't have the USB issues would have given it a 5. No concept how to repair it. Tried telling windows not to disable them via the device manager, but no such luck. Nice functions for a total sized board in this price range. I wanted a board for a price range create with space for future upgrades. Booted very first time with all accessories installed and loaded Win7 devoid of a hitch. Has been running continuously for more than 6 months. None so far. I have employed MSI motherboards and video cards for several years. Two other computers in the residence have been running continously for over five years. I was at initially concerned that with the 870 chipset and the second PCI-e slot running at 4x would hinder overall performance if I upgraded to a Crossfire configuration. Soon after studying various articles comparing overall performance with a variety of PCI-e lane configurations it would seem any overall performance hit from obtaining second card at X4 as an alternative of X8 would be practically insignificant with anything brief of a pair of 6970's. Two high end cards will additional likely be installed in a greater end board to begin with.

Worked out of the box with difficulties. Easy set up in an Antec 902 case with a phenom II x4 965 AMD cpu. Was a shell shocker deal in combo with the processor, right after rebate (which I not too long ago got back) I only paid about ำ for the board with cost-free shipping. Overclocking is enjoyable to play around with if you're cautious. USB 3.. SATA 6gbs. Board has been solid for four months now. Blue LEDS matched the ones from my situation and energy provide for that great healthy glow. I'm hesitant to push this board too much due to some of the undesirable critiques and not wanting to test my luck, so some of the overclocking potential has been lost. Crossfire might be a dilemma for some with the 16xǚx situation, but I only run a single GPU so its not an situation for me. I read some of the poor critiques where numerous were writing about undesirable boards but took a gamble because of the price tag. I'm glad I did. Its not the greatest board on the planet, but it was perfect for a spending budget gaming Computer. I've had no difficulty with the bios, voltages, or instability some people today have reported, but I've kept items largely stock except to do some minor overclocking to cpu and gpu. I don't know what some people are speaking about the manual it comes with is pretty valuable. I was able to locate and plug in every little thing rather swiftly.Utilities that it comes with actually make it worth it, super uncomplicated to tweak your settings from windows. It doesn't shoot out rays of light to strike down the nazis. I'm happy with the obtain. I'll buy msi once more that's for positive.

Has lots of newer features for a great price tag. Good solid state mobo. Every thing has been running because day a single and still loving it! Had an issue with the driver update for the video card. I hooked up my monitor HDMI cable and sound would only play through monitor. Had to go by means of windows and alter up the settings so I didnt have to use my horrible monitor speakers. Hopefully this will be fixed in future updates tho! Have had definitely no troubles with this board. Runs and performs wonderful, and i havnt even gotten max potential outta it.

Very same person from the USB Issue. It was a driver conflict with the ATI Graphics cards. Uninstall-ed and reinstalled newer version and no problems at all.The drivers that came with the cards seemed to have conflicted with the motherboard drivers. When I uninstalled almost everything from ATI to do a clean reboot, some USB manage drivers were removed. These should have been in conflict with the MSI drivers. Nothing. Just be confident about what you're other devices are installing! Great Motherboard now that I fixed the USB situation

Installed quickly, held up to the stubborn heatsink I had to force onto the processor (I thought I was going to break the board but it held fast!) Couldn't get the backplate to line up exactly right. This isn't that large of a deal, but I think when mine was cut they may well have messed it up. Only difficulty right here is I had to bend a piece of the metal on the backplate away from my ethernet port. Other than my mild difficulty with the backplate, this has been a terrific board. I haven't messed with the built-in OC functions. I seriously don't really feel like taking the board back out just for a backplate concern which is hardly noticeable. Great board, bargain price!

Low-cost, stable, has all the characteristics I need to have for a midrange/performance machine. Manual overclocking options are there in the BIOS, but aren't explained well. The memory I bought essential 1.65 v in order to carry out at the timings advertised, but this motherboard wouldn't let me select that as a voltage. It allowed for a different voltage that was slightly higher and that seemed to perform fine. Some memory clocks are settable and other individuals aren't for some unexplained cause, and the BIOS settings have terminology that doesn't seem to be commonly used in overclocking forums. When I figured every little thing out though, the machine has been running good and stable. I'm operating a Thuban x6 1075T w/ 12 GB 1333. I was simply able to get a 8% overclock when just using two sticks of great RAM, but I've had to drop back down to stock speeds with four sticks. I hear this is typical although - almost certainly not an concern with the mobo.

on paper looks wonderful I bought these motherboards particularly to be utilized for a day trader client of mine who required 8 LCD's to be connected to this computer. ATI makes the FirePro 2450 video card which supports quad LCD's so I had x2 2450's and this MB. Would not get PAST Post; constantly hung at "Checking NVRAM". Tried a distinct video card and voila, it worked..........so................I swapped this MB for MSI 770-g45a and they worked perfectly. I'm positive this MB functions great, just not with the ATI FirePro 2450 video card. -Got me to write my very first assessment ever...:( -Was part of a Shell Shocker-None about the MB, DOA - No video signal -Not a pro, but it did power up with fairly lights Compared to other MBs, incredibly poor quality - just appear at the number of ONEegg critiques.I bought this board mainly because of a “Shell Shocker” bundle. DOA! However, I did not get a opportunity to build this technique until four months soon after acquiring the bundle. I have 25 systems under my belt over the last 12 years or so. This is the worst MB and client service expertise I have ever dealt with. If you get the One particular OUT OF 4 DOA/failing boards, you will devote hours difficulty-shooting (I tried different mem, cpu, 450W-ps, and video card) and have to take your chances once again with MSI buyer service. Immediately after returning the board, I was informed that the PCI slot lock was damaged and the CPU slot was cracked. Failures take place with this board at an unacceptable rate. Everyone who has dealt with RMAs knows it is a waste of time, most likely charges YOU far more for shipping, and may possibly end badly. No way such a high fail rate is absolutely nothing brief of a systemic excellent control challenge. I know MSI is a trustworthy organization with some effectively-reviewed goods; nevertheless, this is not 1 of them. Please pull this item and stop bundling it. I can only advise that possible buyers just move on, keep away from the 26% fail risk.will update if it gets better... Not seriously any pros... Like Several of the bad critique I have read, I should have stayed away from this board... Numerous reviews have stated issues with no post, no beeps, no video, anything turns on (fans, leds, etc.), but the board does not run. I ought to have listened to these evaluations. The board in fact did run effectively for a though, I had 4gb of gskill ddr3 1600 ram along with a phenom II x4 965. It ran games fine for a even though, but the second I popped my GTX 580 in I smelt anything burning and the subsequent factor I know the MB is dead. Video went out, fans and leds on, and nothing else. I tested all components and positive enough it was the MB. This doesn't actually discourage me from MSI, as I purchased an MSI K9N series MB a handful of years back that had many negative review on it, and this sucker still runs currently, I can play my games just fine on it. There is just a fault with this board, you would possibly be superior off spending an additional ๠-100 and get an 890-FXA. I have had 3 MSI video cards and an msi mobo in the past. My 1st 7800gtx died within a year and I got a 7900gt as a replacement. then the second died on the wife's puter died within two years and at the exact same time my 7900 gt died....properly, at that point I purchased BFG and never ever had an additional issue...the motherboard was a k8nsli deluxe, at that point a 跌 mobo...nicely, I could under no circumstances figure out why I had 4 gb of ram but my bios only showed 3...well, I identified out the southbridge was junk and couldnt allocate 4 gb...and thats straight from MSI tech assistance..I gave up trying to configure the bios several occasions, and gave up and referred to as...effectively, I now know to understand my lesson,...asus, gigabyte, whatever...under no circumstances msi again...I dont believe one particular star is low sufficient...If msi wants to contest my story, I bought it ALL from newegg..it need to be on file..I nevertheless have the fried 7900gt and the 7800gtx....DONT Purchase MSI.. get asus, gigabyte..

Changed two settings in bios "Cell menu." This unlocked two added cores in the X2 565 three..four GHz, giving me a Phenom II X4 B65 processor at 3.85 GHz. Operates perfectly with Ubuntu 64-bit 10.ten. Check to make certain that the CMOS clear jumper at JBAT1 is on pins one particular and two. My board appears to have arrived with the jumper set on two and 3, which would be utilised to clear the CMOS. (This could have been my error, but I don't factor so.) After a week of flawless use, this 2-three setting gave me a failure to post following I messed about loading included DVD's applications on to the Microsoft partition in my dual boot. I pulled out the manual, saw the jumper mistake, corrected it, and it booted with out dilemma.Don't hit the "install almost everything" on the DVD. You will get a lot of self-inflicted bloatware on your Microsoft partition. (Who cares, I in no way use Microsoft anyway.) I would not be shocked if many of the DOA complaints and other worries about this board were connected to the JBAT 1 jumper setting.
