lga 1155 sandy compatable :) and B3 stepping with bug fixedaffordable costusb three.suitable out of box easy setupplay black ops smooth with i5 2500 sandy with this board no sata 6Gb, but i knew that, only two ram slotsseem's achi mode is there but wont let me enable it in bios so i forced to run my ssd and sata in enhanced IDE,as initial reviewer staed that could be deal breaker for some! i like this board, all the drivers on the cd for chipset ect installed Uncomplicatedpaired with i5 2500 sandybridge nicelyhas been steady and will let some ram timings to adjust, and ram volts u can adjust 3 measureshas choice if you are employing a K sku you can allow that voltage enhancement for much better oc if u have a 2500k or 2600k,but only allow's me to oc cpu to the turbo max of 3.7Ghz. so i just let the board default turbo enhance it, trigger i knew this H61 wasnt a P67 :) under no circumstances the much less it was worth every single penny to get me into a sandybridge lvl of gaming :) gtx 460 plays excellent in this board's pci-e slot

The board is fine, but the con below could be a dealbreaker. H61 chipset supports AHCI. There is no explanation why it really should be disabled on this mobo. If this was mentioned in the promo supplies, I would not have bought it. The product manual especially shows that AHCI is an solution, but must be selected in the BIOS. If this solution is missing then either the bios requirements an update, the documentation is incorrect, or it could be in fact missiing it, but the probabilities of this not possessing AHCI is tiny. The option must be under Advanced, Integrated Peripherals, SATA Mode. If it essentially doesn't help AHCI, then it is a issue, but I doubt it.

It was the least expensive factor on newegg at the time of getting. It wasn't applied in a make for myself; it was for a friend who wanted a gaming Computer.USB 3.Sandy Bridge No SATA 6gb/s. I can accept this.Exactly where this board Truly disappoints is in the BIOS. If you want a superior understanding of how a lot this existing BIOS revision ྪ.two) lacks in attributes, it would be adequate to say that 1 has just ever-so-slightly much more alternatives in this BIOS compared to a LAPTOP.Let me be specific. The absence of these following features sticks out like a sore thumb.1. ADJUST CPU VOLTAGE (for undervolting)two. AHCI And the functions that ARE made available... nicely, I have but to see if they even Function. There are spelling and grammatical errors in the BIOS, and the words Reset and Reboot are unfortunately wildly interchangeable. I Actually hope these issues will be resolved in future BIOS updates, as this reflects rather poorly on a company that is supposed to be a Tier A motherboard manufacturer (IIRC). I'm GLAD this was employed in a make for a friend who doesn't recognize computers. I'm confident he will delight in this rig (i5 2400, HD 6850, this mobo) regardless of its low level shortcomings. Unless the BIOS improves and adds some additional enthusiast-oriented features (and I know it's not an enthusiast board, heck, its a freaking H61 chipset, BUT Still!!) I would NOT suggest this product. Heck, I possibly ought to have waited for some a lot more 1155 boards to be available on Newegg, but oh effectively. In all honesty, I broke my own code in "not being a initially adopter" by shopping for this. I guess I had it coming. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Client,We would like to apologize for the problem you have experienced with this specific mb. Almost everything but the network adapter functions, so it is virtually worthless to me. When installing the Realtek network driver it fails then says "The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not discovered. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."I have tried every little thing and it nonetheless doesn't work. I don't know if it is supposed to be this way, but they gave me the European version. Wonderful entry level board for a budget HTPC. Does support AHCI but need to have to update bios to version A41. MSI tech support promptly answered my question concerning AHCI with link to updated bios. On their page they only show A2, but if you email tech support they'll send you the link to their FAQ that consists of the updated bios. No RAID or E-SATA, but it is a spending budget board. Not extremely very good OC selections, but I wasn't preparing on it. Overall I am pleased with MSI. This is initial time I purchased 1 of their boards, usually I go with ASUS or Gigabyte, but they had been one of the first ones to release the 1155 B3 board and I required to upgrade. Will undoubtedly look at getting them in the future.

Cons:-no Sata3-mATX-MIR

Pros:-Good Value-USB 3.0-DVI + HDMI-Some OC capable
Comment:
In short this is a very good entry level motherboard. If you don't plan to OC much and are satisfied with factory clock speeds then it's a nice motherboard to have. I am using it with a vertex 2 ssd drive which is SATA 2 so I am ok with no Sata 3 ports. Only the recent SSDs take full advantage of SATA3 anyway. Using it with a i7 2600k for a budget build hehe so far so good. was able to fit Corsair A50 no problem despite it being mATX. A bit of a tight fit but works and doesn't touch the RAM. Great Value I would recommend. One of the best entry level 1155 boards since it has DVI+HDMI for the built in hd3000.
