Microcom UAP UniFi Wireless N 2.4GHz Access Point - 300Mbps, Passive PoE, Ceiling Mount, US Version
Cons:Needs java to run the configuration, however can uninstall after the unit has been configured.

Pros:Compact designGreat support

I love this thing. Haven't had one drop, disconnection, nothing.Purring along now for a month. I needed wifi in a home setting with good coverage and a tight budget. After getting it up and running, I'm very pleased. The Unifi has formidable strength for an AP with internal antennas.

Microcom UAP UniFi Wireless N 2.4GHz Access Point - 300Mbps, Passive PoE, Ceiling Mount, US Version
Cons:requires an external PoE injector (my router has a PoE port but probably not powerful enough for the unit)Linux SW is not easy to install

Pros:very nice looking unit!Very easy to set upso far, very stable no complaints
Comment:
I love the way the unit performs so far..the set up was seamless and took no longer than 10 minutes.the management SW is ok, even though I would prefer a straight web interface.good reception throughout the house and the yard, but not 100%. the main reason I bought the AP is case my mikrotik was not covering the backyard. thinking about it again, I probably should have purchased the Long range model...Overall, a very good unit and I would recommend to anyone.

Microcom UAP UniFi Wireless N 2.4GHz Access Point - 300Mbps, Passive PoE, Ceiling Mount, US Version
Cons:I kind of wish they had their own gui, but for now the controller softwares works fine.

Pros:Cheap. Reliable. Works well. Looks good.
Comment:
I saw people recommending these for a while. People have been asking for Mikrotik and UBNT for years. Nice to see NCIX carrying them.As for this product I hooked it up, put my settings in and have been surfing the net since.

Microcom UAP UniFi Wireless N 2.4GHz Access Point - 300Mbps, Passive PoE, Ceiling Mount, US Version
Cons:I has a small IP issues with my router

Pros:great range, easy setup, nice interface
Comment:
Great wifi access point for the money. Excellent range throughout the house and even down the street. Seems to work well with all my gadgets. The wifi access point started to have some ip issues with my router (mikrotik)so I just disabled DHCP for the MAC address and just manually assigned it an IP and it works fine now.

I've been using these AP's for the last year and a half, and have recommended them to friends and family for their own networks and they have been the best units I've used apart from the higher end Motorola and Cisco gear.If you live in a crowded area with many wireless devices on the 2.4GHz spectrum or if your fortunate enough to live somewhere with plenty of space between your neighbors these access points are an excellent fit.The controller software is not much different than the regular web interfaces that you see from most consumer wireless gear, but you get the added benefit of viewing statistics such as clients connected, how much bandwitdh they use, connection quality and much more. An added bonus is you do not need to have the controller running to use the access point, you can setup the AP with the controller and then uninstall it and the AP will work with the settings you have selected. The latest firmware is more than adequate with most installs, however, you can opt for the beta 3.1 software which features zero handoff roaming that enables the APs to handle which devices connect to which AP. This allows a very high quality of service, and allows you to stream a skype conversation without dropping when your device switches between APs, an added benefit is this feature does not need the controller to make use of it, the APs will decide amongst themselves. The only downside of this unit is the lack of POE standardization. You cannot hook this up to a POE switch, it wont deliver enough power, and will instead have to use the POE injector provided, or opt for there ToughSwitch solution. The other unfortunate feature is their new POE injectors do not come with mounting holes for wall mounting.Besides that this is a very sleek looking and great performing Access Point highly recommended.
