It's windows....functions greater than Vista. It seems much less clunky than XP, getting a small a lot more like Macs with every new OS microslop releases. It will take acquiring use to no matter if your an XP individual or Vista, but if your coming from XP.....have lots of tablets on your desk as you study how to navigate, set up, and adjust things to suit your style and your accessories. 1 day Mozzilla will have their own OS to take over the world and all shall bow to them!!

I entered the Windows 7 Beta/RC program and have been making use of it for numerous months now, and loving it really much! I obtained the retail edition prior to release and installed on a trial basis and bought this for the serial to finish the trial. Took the crucial and activated with no a hitch.Really responsive on a 8744-5BU Thinkpad T60 with 2GB RAM and a T7200. Boot time *seems* to be faster than XP, and the overall computing experience is nicer, like a sporty luxury auto, if you will. They learned from Vista's annoying permission popups and streamlined requesting for permission or rights to a non-intrusive level, and other places are far more polished than Vista, especially the new start off menu and file/open dialog boxes. Extremely handful of hiccups with computer software right here and there not getting compatible or needing to be run 'As Administrator' - but nothing to ruin my day or annoy me. I personally propose 7 to any person with XP and wary of upgrading!

Safe I'm not crazy about how they are mimicing Make positive to get this for 32-bit CPUs! The dumb**** staff at Leading Buy assured me that the 64 bit version would detect a 32bit cpu and set up a 32bit version of the OS automatically. I would have bought the 64bit from them if they had the XP to Win7 upgrade for skilled edition. Thankfully they didn't carry the upgrade and I found out later that a entirely separate product was essential for a 32bit OS. Thanks newegg!

The leading operating system Microsoft has put out therefore far. It is efficeint and quick.I would advocate it for any new personal computer and 64 bit for any AMD processor. Backwards comaptiblilities is ok.The only genuine concern I have had is with some older audio drivers on audio devices the have been additional that 2 years old. I would advise any vista user upgrade. spend the extra ฮ and get Specialist. The dwelling edidtion is a watered down version.

Windows 7 is the most great OS I have ever used! It is really stable and runs a lot more smoothly than Windows XP (also far more fashionable). I really like the snap function and use it usually. Some of the subtle alterations and attributes seem superfluous at 1st, but offered the opportunity, they substantially boost productivity. This is the 32-bit version and is a small outdated for contemporary hardware. If you buy directly from Microsoft, they let you select in between the 32- and 64-bit versions. (Sorry Newegg, but this is a lot more helpful). Wish I had bought the 64-bit version. I believe the full retail version comes with both. Regrettably, switching to the 64-bit version would demand a clean install and getting the complete 64-bit version of Windows 7.

It plugs and plays numerous points nicely. It's super rapid and commonly very productive. It defeats itself right after about every one particular hundred tries. On the hundreth attempt it won't print, or won't save, or won't network, wants to rebuild the desktop, or won't do what the user is expecting. This is unbelievably frustrating, due to the fact XP never ever would do such nonsense. Sorry to say, but XP (in its current service pack 3) is the most reliable OS ever produced by Microsoft. I regularly return to my significantly older Newegg MSI laptop or computer which is now about four years old. Although a lot slower, it always does what it is told. I bought the Windows 7 upgrade from Newegg which includes both the 64 and 32 bit versions, and I speak for the 32 bit version in this critique, which is continually upgraded on-line by Microsoft. I am using this on a comprehensive package I bought from Newegg on Black Monday in 2009 (installed on an iBuypower Intel i7 system).

If you thought this would be a resource hog then you're wrong, just wonderful OS. I believed MS did the appropriate issue right here when they messed with everyone with Vista which I never installed, glad I waited, drivers are no longer an situation, boots quickly on my machine more quickly than Xp Pro, neglect about it!! It installed in much less than 20 mins with Raid drivers in tow, XP was never like that, and it's pretty significantly less difficult to use than XP in my opinion, wipes the drive so make positive you back up your Xp files and whatnots. If you're hanging on to your XP's dear life you ought to try Win 7 you'll like it, trust me..OeM is the low cost route but who needs MS tech help right if you purchase retail, I'm glad Newegg offered this, What a deal. No BSOD but, *crossing fingers* Nero 6 was the only system not compatible,,,What is up, possibly spend a handful of more for Nero 9:( eVga 790i Ultra SliE-8400 3. impressed that it took below 45 minutes to have it all operating, which include formatting a 500GB tricky drive a alter in appear, setup, and so on from XP, but like something else, I just have to study it up... I bought a new HD and moved my data to an additional HD on the method, worked fine and I still have my 250GB XP HD to fall back on, if needed

This is with no doubt _the Best_ Microsoft operating technique I have ever utilized. Installation was incredibly quick and uncomplicated on my laptop with a 2Ghz Processor and 4Gig RAM. As component of the setup Windows 7 automatically located and downloaded recent drivers for all of the hardware built into my laptop except the touchpad (which utilized the default Microsoft drive until I updated it).In terms of performance the operating program feels substantially far more responsive and fast when compared to Vista or XP. I uncover that I am capable to have a lot more programs operating with tiny to no probability of process instability, and the applications look to run a lot smoother than they did on Vista or XP.The usability updates such as window snap, enhanced taskbar, enhanced program switching, and so on are all considerably needed and extremely useful updates. It may possibly seem like a smaller and obvious addition ot the OS, but you won't believe how intuitively and on a regular basis you will use these fantastic attributes. The only con I can believe of is that if you are upgrading from WinXP there is a bit of a understanding curve (XP is right after-all virtually 10 years old!).The windows and menus are set up like Windows Vista, which is not a negative issue as it seriously is an improvement over WindowsXP, but it can take a day or two to get utilised to. This is a excellent operating system, it is anything that Microsoft mentioned Vista would be and a complete lot more. If you run a program employing WinXP _you want to upgrade to this_ there is no reason whatsoever not to.I have been utilizing Win7 because the beta, and all all through the test phase it has been the fastest and most stable Windows OS I have ever used. And with the new visual designs your computer will by no means look prettier, and you won't really feel like you are using a bit of out dated bit of unnatractive blue and grey softwware from the early 1990's.

No problems installing. Loves Vista drivers particularly for my Diamond 4650 512 video card. Every thing application wise went in ok. Had to download Windows reside to get the "E" mail plan. Attempted to load MY DVD XP drivers but it choked and coughed but did no harm. I use Vista 64 bit on my other machine and each have superb stability. Vista 64 bit chokes on nothing at all but this one did. Don't know enough about Windows 7 but. I generally use the Windows Classic theme.

Aeroglass is cool. Faster than my old XP. Challenging to find things. It's like a new hobby- locate all the Easter eggs. My ASUS P5QL/EPU onboard sound didn't operate till I went to the ASUS web site to download new drivers. My old graphics card (Radeon X300) just gets a 2.2 score, but I feel my UI still looks good (I'm not a gamer). I wonder how much those scores actually indicate. Perhaps they're a bone for the hardware vendors.

I didn't waqnt to deal with the backward compatibility troubles that may arrise. Non other than individual preference staying with XP for now. I'm also buisy to invest as substantially time as "they" say is required to set up this even if I overlook the backward compatibility complications. Also some stock brokers I deal with haven't upgraded their systems to deal with 7 however .

Usual pros. DVD badly scuffed inside sealed package. DVD scuffed in manufacturing was quickly made readable with plastic polish.Utilized Maguiar's PlastiX and cotton rounds. Reads as superior as new with slight visual mark remaining.Maguiar's PlastiX can be found in Automotive department or retailer like Wally World (Walmart). Cotton rounds identified in females's makup close to cotton balls.Apply thin coat. Let dry. Polish off dried coating using radial (like the spokes in a wheel) motion only. Never polish in circles! Polish crosswise to the course the information is written. Repeat as quite a few times as necessary to get the disk working again.I only had to apply as soon as to effected region of disk.

For household builders, this is a good bargain at about 1ǘ the expense of a Complete Edition. This computer software can only be loaded on A single motherboard and can't be transferred, but other than that, the CD-ROM is exactly identical to the Complete Version. You only get the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version, not each. None

Some applications operate namely Microsoft products. Despite the hype, this factor isn't ready for Prime Time...Vista in sheep's clothes. Don't say you weren't warned!! Most applications don't function or develop bugs. Purchased the property version and then upgraded to the Pro version for the XP emulation when applications didn't work. The emulation is a farse. Programs work but can't communicate with the other programs. Scanner drivers don't operate even in XP emulation, ever hour there's a message about some driver Win7 disables. You can't do straightforward stuff with no Win7 asking permission. After spending 2 solid weeks attempting to make a go of it I'm going back to XP. Essentially, except for the 64bit thing, this thing doesn't do anything XP can't except for causing aggravation.

Great item, quite stable. Its generally Vista cleaned up. Dont just jump onto OEM to save a buck. If you like to upgrade your hardware far better go with the retail version. Don\'t forget that OEM hardware implies that its a new Computer, and you in all probability are not huge on upgrades...For example changing your primary challenging drive(s), video card etc, its no longer an OEM Pc and you will want to pay for a new liscense! - I had to shelve my software program when I decided to do a Raid on my Computer with a BD. Microsoft mentioned - SORRY If you are constructing for your youngsters Pc that you will toss in the trash two-3 years, then OEM software program may well be a very good option for you.

Was concerned about installing with all SATA drives and no floppy. Just setup the BIOS, rebooted with the Win7 in the DVD drive and it installed. None By no means place in the item code for activation till you let it run a week or more. You never ever know when a component, such as a drive, may fail.
