Pretty amazing upgrade
Comment:
I've been using Windows since version 2.0 (!) and this was the easiest install since version 3.0 and has so far been a very pleasant experience to bring up. The only complaint I have is that when I first started the install I needed to do an F6 sort of driver install. The message that starts this process is not very informative and then if it fails it just says it hasn't found what it's looking for. I thought I had what I needed. It took me a while to find a very subtly different file on the Intel website that Windows finally accepted.

Microsoft did it right this time!
Comment:
After all I've read I finaly made the jump from Windows XP Pro to Window 7 Ultimate 64. This is an excellent OS! Microsoft made sure to make this a smooth and comfortable transistion. Even if you have a few old productivity applications that are not compatable with windows 7 you can install XP Mode... vertual XP PRO within windows 7 but very well integrated. Once you have it set-up you can launch your app strait from the window 7 start menu! So for this OS has been a dream to work with! Recommened for sure!

64 bit
Comment:
I certainly enjoyed having the OS to learn with but those commercials are so stupid. If you have built your computer, you most likely will have the drivers available on disk or flash drive. You will use it but most everything will be there to use so you can update to the best drivers. It is so much cheaper than purchasing the OS for full retail.

Best version of Windows I have ever used
Comment:
Microsoft got smart with this version of Windows by releasing the beta to the public and it shows. I have never seen a prior version of Windows as stable as this one is ever. It will take some time getting used to the new layout, but all in all a solid choice for the money.

microsoft FTW for once
Comment:
it is just amazing. i have been using RC (release candidate) for almost a year and just moved to the OEM version, and i cant believe how smooth it is. it blows OSX out of the water. Boot and shut down speed is as fast as XP on the same computer. self-discovery drivers being plug and play to a literal meaning. the XP shell is cool if a program wont run in the win7 kernal. Troubleshooting works out 80% of problems. Just get it and you will be happy you did.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS
Comment:
Little Dragon says the new Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS is a good operating system. It's stable and lighter than Microsofts Vista 64 bit and therefore it installs and loads faster. Boot times are considerably faster too. For the money, in todays financial environment, it's the best deal for current OSs that are available. Ubuntu is and other similar OSs are still lighter and faster but, since you're going to need an OS that works well with todays programs and is reasonably fast so, this is it. Five Stars for the new Microsoft 7 OS in 64 bit!

Have been using windows 7 for 3 months and I love it, I would not go back to Windows XP or Vista. The best thing Microsoft came out with yet.

Best ever!
Comment:
I got to say that this OS is the best ever. The most user friendly and stable OS that has been released to date. I have had this for 2 weeks now, and have put alot of software on it. It hasn't had one error, or compatibility issue, and all of the software runs without even a glitch. Thank you Microsoft and Tiger!!!

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:... what makes it worth $ 40.00 more than the other W7 Pro Suites ??

Pros:... what makes it worth $ 40.00 more than the other W7 Pro Suites ??

I'd appreciate any ones opinion as I'm about to upgrade from XP and will probably set up initially as a dual boot system - on different HDsI'd heard there were issues with the 64 bit vs 32 bit but everyone here seems to OK it (mostly do PS4 and graphics)Many thanks

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:some stuff still have errors, expensive

Pros:64BIT,fast, etc
Comment:
I really like windows 7. way faster/better than windows vista. everything load quicker and uses less ram. its also got more features then vista and it also insatled faster. The only downside would be that some programs still give problems on 64bit os, and that the price even thought its cheaper than anywhere else, is still expensive in my opinion.

Ultimate deal
Comment:
ordered this OS with free WD 500g hard drive. Had to use new OS anyway, considering HP's Recovery Kit only works with their drive. So free Drive and regular OS was a great deal and easy to install.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Expensive and not really needed (The extra features.) by most people when lesser versions are more than enough for your average user.

Pros:Not Vista! (Though I saw it for what it was and side stepped that cash grab.)Fast install compared to XP.Everything just works. Unlike XP which needs manual driver installs for some things. (For full functionality.)Many little features I like over XP.
Comment:
I like W7 over all. (No specific version.) I have had few issues with it. What (Very minor.) issues I have had have been easily sorted in no time.Installing is breeze, and much faster than XP. A very nice addition! The whole process is simply much more tolerable.

Cons:another os install

Pros:recognized everything right away

Other than having to install a new OS, this was a nice surprise to see how seamless the transition from XP/VISTA to Windows 7 is. Maybe Microsoft is going in the right direction after all?

W1d0ws 7 same as V1sta SP 3
Comment:
Well, the good new is it works properly. (As much as any W1nd0ws OS does.) I've heard it called V1sta SP3, and I have to agree. And that is a good thing. I don't have a bunch of legacy apps, but several old games loaded and work successfully (D00M 3). It has several compatability options that I have not needed (yet). I have noted inferior Bluetooth support (cell phone interaction). Works on V1sta, but not on W1nd0ws 7. No real 'must have' features I could find.. I am using it on desktop systems, so cannot comment on Battery Saving claims.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Windows XP is still a viable solution for people.

Pros:Redeems itself from the mishap that was Vista
Comment:
Going forward 64bit operating systems are going to be the norm. Windows 7 Ultimate is a vastly superior product to Vista and has renewed my confidence in Microsoft. While this new OS does leave some things off the table new service packs should gradually turn it into something worthy of succeeding windows xp.

No better than vista
Comment:
Had an evalution copy for several months before I bought W7 ultimate. The frezzing up of this program was crazy. Its nice to see so many people give W7 a good rating. The OEM copy was no better then the evaluation copy. The more pretty lights and flashing gimmicks the more it Doesnt not work. TIME TO MOVE ON TO A MAC.

Majour relief; like being cured of a nasty illness
Comment:
I went from Vista 32bit to 7 64bit and although I had to do a clean installation and take my graphics card out to install (put it back after and it works better than ever now) Vista had so messed up my computer that I was unable to use 3 of my favourite programs. Now it is like being cured of a nasty illness; everything runs fast and smoothly haven't even found any bugs yet!! Such a relief! Get it if you haven't yet, you will not be sorry!
