Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple
Comment:
Performs great, just plug and play. Took 10 minutes to set up in my mid-2010 Macbook Pro 17" i7. It's good becoming able to dedicate 4GB to my Win7 VM. The only actual con is that I had to RMA my 1st set since of a incredibly odd problem. The technique booted with 8GB but when running on the intel GPU the screen would FREAK out, switch to nVidia and it was fine. Place in my original RAM and every little thing worked as it really should. Spent some time with Mushkin on the phone, they were friendly and presented to replace it but ended up RMA'ing via NewEgg. My theory is that the intel GPU uses shared memory and it was taxing the faulty bits in the RAM. The con isn't so a lot of a con mainly because NewEgg customer service is Top rated NOTCH, got me a replacement ASAP and it is functioning excellent. I'm nonetheless providing 5 stars mainly because the RAM is rapidly and a fantastic deal (discount + rebate) and NewEgg created the encounter pretty painless.

Comment:
Price and Help. I emailed Mushkin with the issues I was seeing and got a response proper away. Their forums look filled with great info also. It didn't function...twice. The first kit I received would result in a screen flicker when I moved the mouse on my spring 2010 MBP. The next kit I got didn't have that challenge. It seemed to operate pretty properly till I opened my VM's. I would get KP's whilst shutting them down and Firefox would constantly crash. Immediately after removing the new kit and placing the original 4GB kit back in, the method works excellent. No problems. I will be searching at yet another brand.

Great cost and rapid shipping from NewEgg. Nice upgrade to 8GB from the 4GB I had prior to. Negative packagingPoor Memory ModulesI was debating whether to obtain this brand of memory mainly because of so many concerns I saw in the reviews, appears like I'm one particular additional added to the RMA method of Mushkin!Following installing the Mushkin Modules my Macbook Pro i7 (Mid 2010) it booted right up but that didn't final for lengthy.Within minutes of starting Windows 7 I got a BOSD, which was followed by a Kernal Panic. I rebooted and in fact got Windows to run a little longer but that didn't final extended either. Windows 7 continued to get mutliple BSOD and then MAC OS X followed suit shortly following with additional Kernal Panics. I ran REMBER and it confirmed a number of errors and failures through the test. I assume Muskin need to truly take into account packaging there RAM better than the low cost plastic sleeve it comes in. When I received my package my RAM and SSD drive where just in a bubbled envelope with no any additional protection. NewEgg is partly to blame for this, as they ought to have accomplished a far better job on packaging on their end. Hopefully I don't have issues with my SSD drive as well.I have utilised Mushkin in the past on my Desktop Pc's and have had very good luck with them but it seems that there is a genuine challenge with MAC Memory, hopefully they get it corrected.Hold in mind you get what you spend for, inexpensive isn't usually the very best route to take.I'm providing 1 egg do to the reality that there must be far better QC and testing of Mushkin Memory and for the aggravation of having to due an RMA!

two - 4GB sticks for 90 dollars -DefectiveThis ram is marketed as "Apple Memory"... that suggests I expect it to function in my apple pc. I have a mid-2010 MBP and as soon as I installed this ram I got nothing, just a black screen. Immediately after a reseat I got a Kernel panic. Another reseat got me to the desktop but got a different Kernel Panic after two minutes. Ultimately it ran for tiny even though but apps have been crashing constantly! I really feel duped!! I just sent these back to Newegg and incurred a ฮ shipping charge!... a third of the cost of the ram! Come on newegg... that's weak. I should not be nailed for getting faulty ram... you or Mushkin ought to eat that cost. This feels like a scam!

Installed in a new MacBookPro6,2 - Saved me โ off Apple's upgrade to 8GB and I have the original 4GB to sell on e-Bay. Not needed if you're not a power user, but assists IMMENSELY for VM and PS performance, especially PS5. Installing memory is about as uncomplicated as it comes, once you get past Apple's tiny screws. A bit pricey for 8GB, but nevertheless less expensive than Apple's upgrade pricing. If you need to have a lot more memory, acquire without having query.

Installed these DIMMS in an early 2010 MacBook Pro, Core i5 two.4GHz laptop. This memory seems to perform as advertised. Even though, I've only had it in my machine for a couple of hours. For ๳ , following immediate rebate, they seem to be a very good deal. My Geekbench ࿀-bit mode) score was enhanced from 4762 to 4793 going from the 2x2GB OEM DIMMs to the 2x4GB Mushkin DIMMs. A couple of benchmarks from GeekBench ࿀-bit mode) indicated that the Apple OEM memory had slightly better functionality in some regions which includes: Memory Performance: 3017 vs. 3010Blowfish (single thread scalar): 1760 vs. 1757Integer DotProduct (single thread scalar): three.50 GFlops vs. 3.49 GFlopsStdlib Allocate: 11.9 Mallocs/sec vs. 11.fiveStream Copy (single thread scalar): four.42 GB/sec vs. 4.12Stream Add (single thread scalar): 1393 vs. 1388After ordering, I saw some less expensive options, here on Newegg, that were not in the Mac Memory section. They seemed to have worked well for other folks. Passed all of Rember memory tests.

Wonderful price tag. They fit the RAM slot? Normal and constant kernel panics along with the Macbook Pro refusing to boot (giving the error sound for negative RAM). Requested an RMA and will be exchanging ASAP. Not willing to give up however, but the initial impression is to prevent this item.

Comment:
Ridiculously affordable, ridiculously straightforward to set up, applications and data files load much faster None but I've been hawking 8gb upgrades for my MBP 13 (late 2009 version) due to the fact I brought it property all shiny and new, but I didn't want to drop the 400 or so bones for it. When I came across this for 趐 I quickly clicked add to cart. I opted for the absolutely free shipping and it nonetheless arrived in 2 days. Nice. From the time I opened the shipping box until I was powering my laptop on for the 1st time was a grand total of ten minutes. (Make confident you have Philips size screw driver just before you begin or you'll be creating a trip to Home Depot even though your memory burns a hole in your desk) you just take out the 10 or so screws on the bottom of the laptop, lift the bottom cover off, pop the old memory out, pop the new memory in & screw the cover back on. To verify your installation, just power the machine back on, click on the Apple menu, then About This Mac, and boom, 8 beautiful GBs.My applications all appear to be loading significantly quicker and documents & photos within the programs (Word, CS4) load faste

Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple
Comment:
Value was great. Had no problems with original 4GB of RAM. Following installing these modules, I skilled the identical sorts of concerns that some other reviewers noted (SIGBUS's, SIGSEGV's, SIGABRT's, etc.), and kernel panics. Attempted re-seating multiple occasions, to no avail. Replaced with original 4GB, and troubles went away once again. Numerous runs of 'memtest' in single-user mode and Apple's exhaustive memory diagnostics discovered no issues; I consider these DIMMs are almost certainly compatible with current, non-Core i7 Macbook Pro's, but are iffy when applied with the present Macbook Pro line. RMA'ing them, and will try a different manufacturer's solution. Numerous other people didn't have an challenge with these, so I can only feel difficulties are caused by some strange mixture of RAM usage by a mixture of applications. Most of the problems were with Java (either the JVM or the compiler); I'm a Java developer, so this was extremely frustrating. But once again, I encounter no such challenges with the original 4GB from Apple.

Right after 4 days of use in a MacBook Pro 2010 15" with an i7 processor I have problems-free, additional performant operation. The cost for this memory upgrade is exceptional compared to that provided Apple. The prompt service from NewEgg is usually appreciated. None I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about the operation of this memory soon after reading other critiques about troubles with it and i7 processors, but I have not skilled any so far. The other evaluations concerned me enough to run each memtest osx and Rember on the memory with three passes each, and both tests passed with no errors or troubles at all.

Wonderful memory! Threw the two sticks into my 2.66 MBP and haven't looked back. I haven't observed considerably of a speed boost on my MBP, but my Windows 7 VM (Parallels 5) has been operating substantially smoother. I've been in a position to allocate 4 GB to my VM and 4GB to my MBP and it's been working like a dream! Considerably better then the four GB the my laptop came with. Absolutely nothing A small bit costly, but substantially less costly then it was about a year ago. Would hugely advise the upgrade if you're operating VM's on our MBP.
