It takes 8.1 GB to make a Snow Leopard Boot Drive for the mac. & this drive has additional than 8.1 GB!I was able to use the S.L. DVD to make a boot drive that I could use for utilities and I use DiskWarrior and iDefrag and every thing boots quickly and works well off this Mushkin 16 GB.Boot occasions from the Mushkin are much more quickly then they were from the Diskwarrior and iDefrag CDs!!!DO NOT Buy THE 8 GB IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A Boot Drive FROM THE SNOW LEOPARD DVD. THE SNOW LEOPARD DVD Demands A DESTINATION WITH AT LEAST 8.1 GB!!! WORD UP! My Mac Book has Ram and the 128 GB SSDall from Mushkin.Mushkin 128 GB SSD in distinct made a enormous distinction/ improvement in my computing world.Incredibly grateful and happy with the Mushkin Co. in common.Constantly look to them 1st when I require a product.Mushkin truly is the BOUTIQUE Co. that you can take household and by no means be disappointed with. Thanks Mushkin for NOT getting one particular of the rotten tomatoes in a field of rotten tomatoes.

Excellent price tag, Mushkin makes good RAM, so why not excellent SD memory too? Dead in less than a year. Sat in a drawer as it was to be employed to periodically back up documents/pictures from a relative's Computer, which was only completed a few times. Went to use it yesterday after less than 9 months of ownership, and it's absolutely dead. Windows nor even the BIOS will recognize it on several PCs. Manufacturer Response:Greetings, We apologize for the inconvenience. Your Mushkin Enhanced USB Drive is backed by a two-year warranty. Please feel no cost to contact us at support@mushkin.com for help in replacing the drive. Thanks for picking Mushkin Enhanced!

Fast, smaller none for me Bought this particularly for use with the XBOX 360 and new potential to use up to 16GB USB drives for storing content. It is working perfectly. Immediately after XBOX formatted the drive there was 14.4GB of space left.Newegg shipped swiftly and it arrived fast.

Faster in FAT32 than in NTFS. Nice design and shape. Seems quite sturdy. None. Yes, the cap can be lost quickly if you are not cautious...so, the logical thing is to be cautious. Don't take off since of a cap that you shed. This is a great value on a great drive. I liked it so a lot I also got an 8Gb,,,same great value.

Compact, Awesome read speeds: 30-32MB/s Cap sucks, doesn't appear that durable, extremely slow write speeds: five-7MB/s (Many tests applied. five-7MB/s was the highest, with five separate benched 100MB tests) I've been searching for a pretty basic tiny flash drive, and went with this unit. I chose this one because I've heard absolutely nothing but excellent items about Mushkin. Turns out I must have carried out much more study. This drive is genuinely slow for what it is. Confident, the read speeds are terrific, but the read speeds suck. It works, but would not purchase once again.

Speedy, light, little, cost, Mulholland Drive = cool name Have to format to NTFS to copy huge (ɰgb) files but that's not one of a kind to this drive, separate cap but no major deal Only concern I've found so far is that to format this drive to NTFS, you have to adjust some settings, one particular of which seems to have caused BSOD's (blue screen of death) regularly when I hit Ok to "remove safely"!! Limited information on the net implies this is a Vista 64 problem and would in theory affect any drive formated more than to NTFS. My temp resolution is to wait a bit immediately after transfers and eliminate without having doing the "remove safely" process...functions fine so far. Other then this, I'd say this appears to have been a very good purchase ;-)

Slim StyleRapidly transfer rateHigh capacityFunctions like charmThe best flash drive I've ever had so far. The cap of the USB is kinda low cost excellent.. but I don't mind. Setted up as FAT32, gave a transfer rate about 11mb/s - 13mb/s a 7GB files took 8 minutes to back up... I like it..

As for the drive, what's to say? It's sick quick. My brain wasn't operating nicely when I got it and it didn't show up in Discover. An e-mail to Mushkin was returned virtually quickly with a telephone call and fast resolution (my laptop tried to assign a drive letter already in use by a network drive). Fast courteous support is really cool. None.

Extremely quickly, smaller, not overly fancy, and did I mention quick? Cap is effortless to lose, and comes formatted in FAT32.. I usually transfer files bigger than 4GB, so that was an problem for me. BUT, it performed well out the box in FAT32 with 64K clusters. Got about 32MB/s read, and 15MB/s write. I formatted it into NTFS with 64K clusters and it kept the same read speeds, but the write speeds were decreased to 11.6MB/s. I tried other cluster sizes, and the highest speeds I got had been with the 32K and 64K clusters. Very same goes with FAT32 format. It wasn't too huge a hit on performance, and I got the benefit of transferring 4GB+ files onto it. For the cost, this capacity and performance is awesome, so I have no space to complain.

Fast and trustworthy workhorse. Keeping track of the clear plastic cap isn't generally straightforward. I operate as a technician at a local pc shop, so this flash drive gets utilised and abused in between numerous computers every single day and has often worked like it's supposed to. A couple of days ago, I was saddened to locate my Mushkin in the dryer with my laundry, but even after getting washed and dried, it nonetheless functions just as effectively as the day I purchased it. I can't guarantee you'll have the exact same knowledge, but I felt so proud of my little drive I just had to make a evaluation here!

It works, and is fairly speedy Cap can be lost effortlessly I have this connected to my Kenwood kdc-x794 head unit and it works like a charm. Transfer speeds are decent and it handles being left in the auto in the summer heat of CO like a champ.

Speeds are just under advertised read/writes, fast and works....not to significantly a lot more to say about it. it is way smaller than my 4gig stick, but still feels sturdy construction. Much more of a preference , not a con...rather had slide out than cap...

Quite little and lightweight thumb drive with high capacity and surprising speed. Given this price tag, this is the USB thumb drive to have currently. Really impressed. Removable cap is always a con, but it does snap on securely. Speed tests utilizing Nirsoft's USBDeview show the following read write metrics directly from the box:Read Speed: 30.85 MB/SecWrite Speed: 11.45 MB/Sec

1 of the fastest USB 2. drives out there.Smaller and portable, very easily fits into the rear port of an Xbox 360. Cap is not genuinely tight, simply lost. I don't know why some people today are getting negative speeds. It is formatted out of the box for max speed (I feel 4K clusters? Not too confident)Writes about 16MB/sec, reads about 30.5MB/sec for me. Thats fairly significantly maxing out USB 2. on the read anyhow.16GB and 32GB is usually quicker than 2GB USB sticks. Its the way all USB sticks are, they tend to interleave the memory as densities get higher, just like SSDs (like internal raid)

When I initial bought this I utilised it a few occasions and was disappointed in the speed. I seriously believed it would be significantly quicker. So, I pulled it out yesterday to use it once more and thought, I'll try one thing distinct. I plugged it in a USB 3. port. I was amazed, I own in all probability ten USB drives but I have by no means observed one that fast. None when plugged into a USB 3. port. I have windows 7 installation disk loaded on the drive. The slowest part of installing windows is when it 1st boots and says loading files. That is what I was working with it for yesterday. It loaded the files in less than ten seconds, and that my buddies, is Quick!

Tiny, it works nicely, huge capacity, fairly low-cost, and its definitely rapid. I actually can't complain. No flashy junk. Despite the fact that I believe flat black would have been better than piano black, but whatever. And no overbright obnoxious LED, just a small visible but not overpowering green 1. Type of straightforward to lose. But whatever, not a large deal. I'd purchase it again if I had the option.

Fantastic cost! Quite quick drive! Excellent price. None, so far. I have many usb drives but they are all in the 1-four GB size range. I find them slow on significant files, so I was generally a little hesitant about getting a bigger drive. Properly, I read a bunch of reviews and decided to attempt this 1, and it is quickly ( specifically for the price ). It blows my older drives away!!!!

really modest footprint, write/read transfer speed as advertised. Only 14.9GB usable no cost space formatted in FAT32 64K. Possibly would finish up losing the small cap. A bit warm immediately after I did a 14GB MKV transfer. The fastest USB flash drive I have attempted for below 50 bucks.

Writes really rapidly, works excellent! No complications with it at all so far. Formatted to NTFS and I've been using it ever given that. Slightly slowly with NTFS but not a massive deal at all, does what it is supposed to do. Finest flash drive I've utilized and the price is excellent too. Like other people have mentioned the cap is kind of easy to shed, just be careful with it. There are no cons with the actual flash drive. Will certainly obtain this brand again if I will need a different flash drive.
