This is the best cpu cooler I bought in years.It is pricy but it worth the upgrade.It is super silent, installed this over a Zalman and I am extremely satisfied!ps: Make sure that it fits into your case - my noctua is touching the fan on the side panel!

Owns H50, so please DO NOT GET H50, the extra 10 bucks u spend will go along way. You do not have to worry about leaks or crappy performance.

Great HSF, I am running an i7 920 b 3.8 Ghz, 1.15625 volts, and prime95 maximum stress causes a maximum temperature of only 61 degrees celcius!I have no complaints about this HSF really, I am very satisfied with everything about it. The installation was quick and easy from following instructions provided, included paste is tested at hardwarecanucks to be some of the best on the market, and it does its job well and quietly.

Well this is no the most beautiful cooler out there...But damm does it work good I have it on a i7 oc'd a 4.5Ghz and it keeps the temps almost as low as a custom water loop awesome !

This is a great heat sink. I replaced my h50 with custon shroud push and pull set up and this keeps cpu a lot cooler under idle, about 5 degrees cooler compared to h50 with shrouds and push pull set up. onl complaint i have is the size, but i guess you can't really complain for a great product like this.I use AZZA Helios case and it fits but you'll have to make modification. only modification you need to make this fit in helios case is moving the side pnale fan on the outside,over all great product.

This is is an enormous cooling beast is like mounting a refrigerator to your motherboard. keeps it nice and cool and comes with two high quality fans, the king of air cooling.

I have install this heatsink on my new I7 880. Not OC for the moment, but i can keep the cpu below 28c. That's very great.Also, like all Noctua product, the installation is very easy.Fan are still ugly.Don't forget to PMAfter few weeks, i do a OC on my CPU (4.1ghz) and temp never go up more than 60c. This cooler is absolutely amazing, temperatures are amazing for air cooling with this beast. Getting 73C max load (via LinX or prime 95) on an i7 950 1.3v vcore and 1.3v QPI p 4.3Ghz (no hyperthreading) with ambient temp of 23C

Good results with my overclocked i7. However, it is covering one of my memory slots but it has good results can't complain.

At the max settings the colling is exceptional. Overclocked Core i7 950 stays around 50-60 at 100% stress to all cores. Extremely quiet as well.My only problem was the 140mm fan makes a clicking noise, possibly a faulty bearing. It's hard to notice over the case fans, but when the case is open it's noticeable. Noctua was a pleasure to deal with about this problem though: After showing a proof of purchase, they shipped a new fan to me. I did not even have to return the noisy fan first. Despite the problem, they get 5/5 because f the great support and service to their customers.

Biggest badest best CPU cooler on the market as of oct 2010Overclock my i7 950 to 4.2ghz daily 24/7 temps get up to 77 max on that oc that's very good for a air cooler going from 3ghz to 4.2ghz. I had to take out my side case fan to properly close my case up this thing is huge it'll probaly cover up 1 ram slot and just come close to the second ram slot

I might have applied the thermal paste wrong but I get 40C idle and high 60C during load on overclocked i730. For the price I was hoping for low 30C for idle...

This is the best air cooler on the market. I OC'd my i5 750 to 4GHz stable! It's an amazing cooler! Definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a heatsink to keep your CPU on ice

In my mind this may be the best air cooler out there. It keeps my I7 930/4.2 ghz at 73-70-68-69 under load and does it quietly. I had a Megahalem on my I7 920/4.0 ghz and had to use a high cfm fan to keep it at the same temps and it was much noisier. Had I tried the Noctua first I may not have gone to watercooling on the 920.

One of the best CPU coolers I've ever used. Overclocked a Core i7-930 at stock voltages to 3.5 GH. Under load, temperature stays below 68C.

Amazing cooler. Incredible mounting system, the best I have used. Amazing performance, keeps an i7 i 4.2GhZ HT on under 80C at load. Which is amazing for an air cooler.

I just love how this thing has dropped my CPU temps. I have my i5 clocked at 3.4 on all 4 cores, and at 100% load, my temps never pass 53C. Compared to 82C on the stock cooler without any overclock, this is definitely a good purchase!

This is probably the best air cooler on the market.It is so big that there is a 99% is will hang over your ram.On my motherboard it hangs over the first 2 ram slots, and I had to remove the heatsink fins on my corsair dominators, but any normal sized ram should fit fine.

This cooler is a beast. I highly suggest this for someone looking for the top performance while sticking with air cooling. I would not recommend this product for anyone who is using a case with a width of less than 200mm, full tower case is suggested! WOW sums up this product.

The size of this is intimidating compared to the stock Intel unit: maybe 10x as big.I'm using the NZXT Tempest Evo case so installation is a snap. Don't have to remove the mobo to install the Noctua brackets on the backside of the mobo as there is a "back door" to the case that also unscrews (just like the front) which provides access to the back of the mobo. Wonderful case in all respects.Installation took about 1/2 hour (hot day so I had to make sure no sweat dripped off onto the mobo) otherwise it would have been even quicker. Most of my time was spent in cleaning the grease off the cpu from the stock install.After the new hs was in place, idle temps for I7 930 are 37/25/41/35. I thought that was a bit high but they are 10o less than idle temps for my stock cooler.I will be re-seating this sometime down the road to try for lower temps.Overall, this is a great unit: does the cooling it's been reputed to do and is a breeze to install.Just make sure your case (and memory) will accomodate the size.

I replaced a Coolermaster 212+ with this because my i7 930 OC'd w 4GHz with 1.25 vCore was running at >80C in stress testing... The Noctua brought this down to no more than 62 before the paste even had a chance to cure... amazing difference!The included paste is excellent, btw. No need to get anything else.Mounting on an Asus P6X58D-E was very easy and it feels very stable and secure. All ram slots are useable even with extra high sticks although you might need to adjust the fan a bit with really high stuff.The clearance to the top of the case (Antec 300) is tight though. I recommend you plug-in the Y-cable for the 2 fans into the CPU fan header and attach both fans to it _before_ you mount it so you won't have to do it twice like I did :)If you want better than this, it won't be air.

This is simply the best pound for pound HSF that I have ever owned and would highly recommend it for any hardcore overclockers or to anyone that requires great cooling that isn't noisy.Just make sure it fits your case before you buy it.

I've been a huge fan of Noctua and their case fans for some time, so I was eager to try out their flagship CPU cooler.This was so simple to install, and would be just as simple to remove. The build quality of the product is excellent and is packaged very well in some of the nicest packaging I've ever seen. There is no possible way for the cooler to be damaged during shipment because of Noctua's clever packaging.Installation only took a couple minutes and the cooler does a great job. It dropped my i7 920 by 12 degrees at both idle and load. It is also super quiet with the fans at full speed. If you can afford the $90 price tag, you won't be disappointed, if you can't afford it, I suggest saving up, because it will be hard to top the performance of this cooler! Just be sure to measure your case, i's a massive cooler. For anyone with a Fractal Design Define R2 case, it fits just perfectly!

If you can't afford or fit this, then I suggest the Mugen 2. But as for this cooler: I love it's mounting. I love it's intuitive instruction booklet. I love it's overbearing size that to-this-day brings a giddy smile to my face. It's performance is awesome and will beat out any lower-to-mid-end water cooling setup.
