I hadn't built a pc in a long time and kinda dreaded the thermal paste. But even if I botched it, my temps are effectively under what I ws going for. Idles in the 30s and peaks in the 40s.It's dead silent. I guess the flesh tones, but who the hell is going to see the fans any methods? I have this set up to pull the air from my vid card straight up and out the best fan in my situation, Antec 1200v3.Pic of the sink resting on my board above the CPU: bit.ly/fXEIAsPic of it in the situation: bit.ly/glh384It leaves barely sufficient clearance to reattach the side panel. Clears the RAM just fine, tho mine dont have spreaders.

Cools particularly well. Huge, need to have a full case in order to use as this issue is a monster. I have an i7 940 OC to 3.8 ghz and when I run intel burn test I only reach about 64 degrees Celsius. In the course of gaming I stay in the higher 50's. Can easily get a lot more out of my overclock. The only thing much better than this cooler would be a custom water loop that would price considerably a lot more.

Cons:none

Pros:low temps and quiet
Comment:
This is a heck of a cooler, it really keeps the temperatures down. It moves a lot of air, and pretty reliable so far. If you have an overclocked system, then this is the cooler for you.

This is one of the best air coolers you can ever get. It is a bit cheaper than the premium water coolers, and you dont have to worry about leakage.

Very quiet and productive. My situation fans are louder than this cooler, even when it's at one hundred%! It was either this or the H70 and I'm quite pleased with the performance of this fan and the supplied Noctua Thermal paste. I also didn't use the resistor as i wanted maximum cooling and this factor is quiet and cool. i set the fan controller on the MB to turn the CPU fan off at idle, and the temp is 28-30'C And at total load with fans @ one hundred% 42-44'C even immediately after a lot of hours. Mounting was also particularly simple, the instructions are properly written. CONS??? No cons. This cooler is fantastic! Also Don't over tighten the MB mounting bracket screws, guidelines say they will "stop" but i stopped when they seemed tight adequate. The two cooler screws will cease as stated though. Asus M4A89GTD PROAMD 1090T OC'D 3.8ghz CM HAF 922 CORSAIR TX 750w PSUGSKILL RIPJAWS 4GBx2 XFX Radeon 5770 Windows 7 x64 and linux mint x64

-Quiet (Includes UNLA (Ultra Low Noise Adapter) if you're very picky about sound but I honestly can't hear something from my case working with the typical adapter at 1200 RPM)-Comes incredibly properly packaged-Easy to stick to directions for both AMD and Intel-Comes with high good quality thermal paste-Keeps CPU on ice Extremely major - not truly a con as it nonetheless fits most midsize cases and complete towers effortlessly whilst clearing nearly all RAM (unless it is incredibly high profile) I at the moment have my AMD 1090T cpu overclocked to 3.8 Ghz and am operating 23c at idol, 32-35c gaming, and 42-44c following 1 hour of prime95. the Noctua NH-D14 is without having a doubt the very best air cooler on the market. Extremely recommended for these like me who don't want to mess about with water cooling but want to push their cpu. I strategy on taking it up to four.0ghz or even possibly four.2ghz soon and don't foresee any issues.

Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Cons:It's a behemoth! Can interfere with RAM slots and possibly side mounted case fans if you have them.

Pros:Quiet. Still one of the most effective air coolers on the market.
Comment:
This thing is huge! I was quite surprised when I first saw this thing in person. That being said, being that it's so huge, it will tend to interfere with taller standing RAM (like a lot of Corsair RAM) so that may be one of the things you would want to look into if you're considering this cooler. Also be aware that it MAY also interfere with side mounted case fans if you have any of those installed. It does extremely well... One of these allowed me to get a 2700K up to 5GHz stable.Overall, I'm extremely impressed by this cooler. I've used it in multiple builds so far and it has not let me down at all.

Comment:
I have the Noctua on an i7 2600k ʄ.5ghz, temps range from 55-60k in a effectively ventillated case. It moves a lot of air but remains incredibly quiet. Not a one. It's quite huge and you need to be careful handling it for the duration of the install. This is not so a lot a "con" as the size is a massive aspect of why it functions so effectively. Just be conscious of it. It's best to install on the motherboard outside of the case, but be conscious that putting in nearby cables and screws might be complicated. I would also suggest looking on youtube for an instal video and watching an individual else install it very first. This will assistance you get every little thing positioned properly so when you apply the TIM and mount it, you won't require to pull it back off and clean all the TIM off to mount again. I practiced when with no TIM and then applied the TIM and tightened down the screws.

Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Cons:stock fans are ugly and will crush anybody with aesthetics as a priority.it will hover overtop of the 2 ram slots closest to the processor and if you don't have low profile ram, the noctua NH D 14 will not fit, unless you move your ram Dims over to the far Right slots but this can affect ram performance with some motherboards. make sure to check if you are unsure if your ram dims will be an issue with a compatibility chart before buying. ONE ISSUE I SHOULD DEFIANTLY DRAW ATTENTION TO!if you are planning on changing the stock fans to ones that are much less of an eyesore, the fan mounting system only supports 120mm fans. Even though the middle fan is 140mm, the actual mounting points on the stock fan are in 120mm fan positions!!!!

Pros:Keeps processor amazingly cool! best air cooler on the market right now by far! totally satisfied!

Cons:like all heatsinks always take care installing.

Pros:Quiet, able to get a 4.8mhz overclock with 2600k. easy to install
Comment:
I have used the H100 for problaby 6 months and the thing didn't increase my overclock and was like having a jet engine sitting beside me. Now I hear that some of them had some kind of fan defect but that's no excuse. Ended up getting the NH-D14 as I heard it was the quietest air solution and they were not lying. It is a total dream, not only is it quiet but I was able to get my overclock up to 4.8 stable....100mhz more than I ever had before. I had to run the H100 at 4.5 too keep my comp stable. Needless to say I dont know why I stayed so long with the H100 but I'm stubborn.

Bought this instead of going to watercooling again since I didn't want to have to deal with the set up and maintenance. I must say I'm very very happy! I was impressed for how quiet it is it cools my i5 2500K at 4.7 Ghz np at all! I would recommend this to anyone who can fit it in their case.

Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Cons:- Very very large.- Why a 12cm fan?- A bit expensive.

Pros:- Extremely quiet.- Excellent performance.- Well done instructions.- Fantastic mounting system.- Really good craftsmanship.

I put this on an Intel Core i7 3770K currently running at 4.5 GHz with 1.24 volts and I'm reading 75 degrees celsius on the hottest core after running Prime95 for thirty minutes (room temperature near my case is 18.1 degrees celsius according to my digital thermometer). Truly amazing performance for an air cooler to say the least.I really love the design and how easy it is to install. I wish all manufacturers would put this much thought into their designs. It's pretty big and heavy though so you might not want to put it in a machine that will be moved around a lot, though Linus said in a video these are pretty reliable when shipped attached to a motherboard so take your pick. Anything else there is to say has been said already in the numerous other reviews here.

This thing is huge! It fits in my thermaltake MK-I no problem.I installed this on an AMD FX-6200 and that is on an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.This heatsink/fan will cover all 4 ram slots on this board but you can adjust the fan height so its not really a problem.I knew this going in and purchased GSkill Sniper low profile ram wich will fit under the fan with no fan adjustment needed. In closing i will say that I overclocked this cpu to 4.2Ghz and ran Prime95 torture test on all six cores for 8 hrs, no core went above 38 degrees celcius with this heatsink cooling it. If your case can fit it, and it's in your budget, YOU WANT THIS!

Cons:- HUGE, make sure it fits your MB/Case

Pros:- Runs QUIET!- Keeps CPU very cool even when OCed
Comment:
So much quieter than my H100, that thing was busing 24/7 it was too annoying to keep. The DH14 runs much quieter with the same cooling effects with an OCed CPU. Plus you dont get the mess or potential damage to your parts like you would with a liquid CPU cooler.

Functions wonders. Keeps my program stable and cool. It came with all the necessary tools and kit required for a "easy" installation. It is pricey, but it is effectively worth the investment with no a doubt. As you would know, this sucker is fairly massive. Make sure you have the space needed to fit this monster. Not significantly of a con, but you do have to take out your mobo to make this installation easy. Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Cons:-Clips touch my video card, but the website told me it may.-It sure is hard to remove my video card now, but I still can.

Pros:+SALE!!!+Quiet(not silent, but your board can take care of that)+Huge so needs very little air to work well
Comment:
I have been waiting for this to come on sale and it did :)The only issue I had was that the fan clip did touch my video card. Noctua told me to go ahead and give it a little bend(removed from fan first). That did the trick.http://imageshack.us/a/img209/4777/clipfv.jpgNoctua is VERY fast to answer questions and even sent me another set of clips for my other NF-P12.The temperatures are better, but not extremely lower when coming from other good coolers. The biggest thing is that this cooler can get by with very little air flow so the fans can run slower and still keep good temperatures.I do not think my CPU puts out enough heat to max this cooler out either. I also like the idea of a heatsink that is big enough that even a fan failure will not result in a very fast heat build up(It could idle 24/7 fanless with ease, full load is not a good idea for fanless).
