Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Comment:
Not only does it cool my AMD 955, it also improves circulation in my case. At complete load on prime95, my cpu temperatures dropped from 60C to 40C (@stock 3.2GHz). Huge improvement! My personal computer is considerably quieter as effectively. The stock AMD cooler sounded like a vacuum cleaner. The 140mm and 120mm fans on the NH-D14 are like a pin drops in comparison.I'm incredibly pleased with this obtain. My only challenge was acquiring to adjust the 120mm fan. I had to move it up a fin notch so it could pass more than my ram. I didn't attempt the thermal paste that came in the box. I applied a Gelid Thermal Compound. The weight of this HSF seems like it would be also considerably, and I was worried about this for a although. But I lastly decided to try it. It truly doesn't appear that heavy. Also, to actually appreciate how absolutely gigantuan this issue is... properly you just have to see it in person. The photos don't do it justice. I was blown away by the hugeness.Newegg's delivery speed is truly incredible. :)

Pros:Good coolingFairly quietModerate cost

I got this cooler on sale for 50$, for what i paid, I doubt i could get better. It comes with good thermal compound as well. One thing to watch out for is the size of the thing, it's quite big but if it fits, It'll do you great!

Keeps my i7-960 @ four.2GHz at 25c idle, 45c load. Very impressive, quiet, and the installation was amongst the easiest I've ever accomplished as far as a CPU cooler goes. Noctua take's care in their items and it's very easily noticed. None

Comment:
Simple to install. Though had to get rid of my Mobo. Wonderful directions! Was utilizing an old Thermalright SI-120 cooler. Couldn't get my technique stable at something more than 3. Ghz and temps even then were running at low 80's C's. Now with the Noctua running three.4ghz (prime stable for 12+ hours) temps not running more than 61 C's at 1.3675 volts below load. Haven't even pushed the clock or volts greater at this point! None! Don't worry about obtaining a various thermal compound like Arctic Silver because what comes with this cooler is good stuff. I'm working with this Heat sink in a Cooler Master CM 690 case.

Comment:
Nothin to say except it gets the job carried out, even at high OC speeds on my 950 I'm only peaking at about 60C. Avg temps are in the mid 30s to low 40s. It's enormous... but I wouldn't call it a con necessarily unless you purchase this and believe it's gonna fit in a small situation. Installs perfectly on my ASUS Rampage III Formula MB... no clearance issues at all. Patriot Viper II RAM fits under the heat sink, but I had to get rid of the 120mm (square) fan to make it perform. Antec 1200 case comes with a spot to mount a 120mm fan internally that's just inches from the heatsink anyway so I moved the fan there. Fits like a glove in the 1200. I can't use a side fan, but honestly... this situation has so significantly air flow the side fan's not truly vital.

So This cooler keeps my 1090T@Stock three.2ghz a awesome 25c idle, and below load is appropriate at 40c. I love this cooler anything from the design to the particularly silent fans. If all my other situation fans had been off this would make no noise at all. This cooler was effortless to install and it fit with the 8Gb of Ripjaw Ram I had installed. I have just started to play with more than clocking this cpu and heat smart it has space for days. I had the cpu ʄgz and idle it was just 32c beneath load it did not get much more than 52c. It was not stable and I require to start over. Nonetheless this cooler is ideal.Situation - Thermaltake Armor Plus (VH6000BWS)PS - 850Watt Corsair Power ProvideMobo - GIGABYTE GA-880GA-UD3H AM3CPU - AMD Phenom X2 1090T (Hexcore)ʃ.twoRam - GSkill Ripjaw DDR3 - 1600 (PC12800)HS - Noctua NH-D14 Only Con I see is the Size. I knew the Size was enormous, i got it to fit by adjusting the rear fan down and then it fit my case like a glove The price tag is high, but I generally liked the adage you get what you spend for. My preceding cooler a Zalman 9900 although it preformed effectively I would get Noctua HS's any day and twice on Sunday.

This is doing the job very well for my cpu overclocked to 4.4. ghz. Installation is a hard process since that thing is huge. Check your ram height, because ram with hight profile may conflict with this cooler.

This thing is a MONSTER! I have been fooling around with the my fan controler and even with it on max, seems to be pretty silent. I dont mind the fact that its huge, but man is this thing BIG! I thought my old TRUE 120....this is almost full on double the size without the fans!!!Great that is comes with "reliable" true Notica fans, and not some cheap garbage ones. Love the cooler!

Comment:
This is my very first aftermarket heat sink in my life. It was a good thing I waited for this come on sale at $49.99 vs the regular price. Just a side note, despite the website saying it is suitable for LGA 1155 motherboards but the box does not say about it being compatible for LGA1155, it still works nevertheless. The bracket for the 1156 motherboard is the same. I have had this verified by a friend of mine PLUS on Noctua's website. At first, it took a while to understand the instructions and assemble the entire thing. Took me around 30 to 45 mins or so. Few things to note:1) It won't fit if you have a small case. Mine fits perfectly with my Antec 1100 case and with a GTX 560Ti in place2) It won't fit properly if you have high profile RAM. So if you have low profile RAM that's a good thing but you can check the compatibility before hand. 3) Be sure to have the wiring done before hand vs hooking up the CPU power cables, to the motherboard. It definitely is hard to work underneath the heat sink once its been fitted into the case/motherboard. 4) The edges are REALLY sharp. I cut my thumb when trying to fiddle with the cables on the side. So be cautious about that. Overall its very quiet and works like a charm. Initially when the CPU is being used, my temp was reading at 35 Deg C, but now with the cooler its down to 29 Deg C. This is with the 140MM fan 1200RPM and the 120MM fan at 897RPM. Of course if I were to increase those and use the U.L.N.A cables, it will be quiet and reduce the temp even more. Definitely recommend this!

Pros:Excellent cooling,Silent enough for me. My processor idles at 30 degrees C and with some basic stress test got untile 60 degrees C.

Real Huge. Those who buy this cooler must make sure they have enough room in their case. Install memory prior to installation of Noctua. Have few cms of clearance space above memory sticks.

Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Cons:* Massive footprint makes it hard to access surrounding components on motherboard once installed (have to remove it to access first two DIMMs, fan headers etc.)* Heavy (has a strong backplate though)

Pros:* Very effective air cooling* Quiet, especially with fans slowed down (silent to me at under 800rpm, still quiet at 1200rpm full speed)* Very high quality fit and finish* Packaging and manual are also very nice* Super easy installation, even though it's huge* Better value (cooling power per dollar) than the closed water products, especially when on sale
Comment:
Been running my NH-D14 for 2.5 months now on an i7-3770K overclocked to 4.5GHz. I have the fans connected to a motherboard header, they are silent at low rpm when idle (400-500rpm) and then ramp up to 1200rpm as CPU temp rises. At 1200rpm you can hear them, but they are still quiet. CPU core temps max out around 65C in Battlefield 3 and 75C in LinX/IBT 100% load.If you have the space in your case, I would recommend this over the Corsair H60/80/100, it's a better value and no chance of loud pump noise and no need for strong fans to blow through the rad, plus you can keep the top of your case closed = quieter computing.

With Antec 900 situation I had to eliminate side fan in order for it to fit. Had to get rid of side of case all with each other cause GPU was getting as well hot without having side fan.Want a new situation.

Its incredibly major, incredibly silent, and quite worth it. It keeps my amd 1100t nicely under 40 degrees! Sometime the outer fan won't start out. I have but to figure out why. If I manually spin tthe fan ahead of turning on the pc it will begin. After it is going it never stopss until I shut down the computer.
