Cons:Little Snug in my case

Pros:Quiet, Cool, Big
Comment:
Keeps my 2500k 4.8ghz i 65c full load with ease and i don't have to hear an ear piercing scream from some other competitors fans. This Cooler does the trick. It may be priced high but well worth it and you don't have to deal with water.

Simply wonderful. Keeps my 2500k overclocked at 4.6Ghz under 50 degrees Celsius. Practically silent. None (but see below) Enormous! Not really a con, as extended as you check the clearance in your case just before purchasing.

Quiet, eye-catching (it's enormous), keeps my Phenom II x4 965 BE clocked at four.08ghz cooler than my Corsair H50 did. Stays around 36-38 degrees Celsius when running regular programs. When gaming it goes no greater than 48-50 degrees. It's not truly all that bad of a con, but this factor is seriously enormous. Fortunately I got it at the same time I got my new case (a Silverstone FT02B-W) so I could fit it. But there is no way this issue would have fit in my Antec 902. My only genuine issue with it does deal with it's size, I had to move my DIMM's into slots three and 4 and run them in single channel mode. But it's since my G.Skill Flare's heatsink is so tall. Could very easily be fixed with memory without having the tall heatsink. Which is my intention when the new Maximus IV Extreme is released. I enjoy this heatsink. Tends to make my personal computer that much prettier.

This factor is incredibly quiet. I turned my Asus 8670 fan to auto and I could effortlessly right here it over the other fans in my case I installed this with both fans and notice no diference in sound at all. I droped 4 degrees in bios and right after running 3dmark 11 at no time did I hit Over 40c on my amd 1090t overclocked to 4ghz.Extremely impressed.Thats a 15 degree drop from my stock cooler. Item is definately huge even so it fit perfectly on my crosshair extreme, even with my video card in the slot closest it did not touch. Close fit closeing my case, my fan on the inside of see via cover touches the top of the fan. Did not have to remove it even though. Bottom of cooler scratched effortless. Tiny scratch barely noticable but still want to be carefull. I employed a incredibly smaller quantity of paste in the center and it seems to be working properly. Install was extremely easy it took me much less than ten minutes to install.

Good quiet fan. Boxed extremely well from Noctua. Contains NT-H1 thermal paste. On my stock i7-940 it lowered idle temps by only 1C over stock fan. On Prime 95 blend it lowered CPU temps by 17C more than stock ࿦F room temp, runs 49C load) with the NT-H1. I dropped 3C additional by making use of Artic 2 thermal paste. With i7-940 OC'd to four.0GHz it keeps max core temp beneath 72C on Linpack max setting in 70F room. I tried this fan in vertical mounting and horizontal with virtually no effect in efficiency in HAF932 case. The DRAM clearance is far better in vertical position but I did not have any tall sticks to try. It would be tight on the initially slot in vertical. In the vertical mounting position the cooler may well block your initially PCIe slot based on your MB. My very first slot on the P6X58DE is lower than some I have seen (occupies 3rd slot down in case). Fan barely clears the side panel fan in HAF932 case. Unless your machine is going for "Earth Tones" this issue won't match. Fan connector is 3 pin so no MB speed control, but not seriously a con for me. Asus P6X58D-EIntel Core i7-940 OC'd to four. I was using the stock cooler on my 955BE at stock three.2Ghz for a few months now and was idling at 42C and reaching the lower 50's even though gaming. I strapped this beast on and idle temp dropped 10C to 32C. I have ran Prime95 for 2.five hours and the max temp is 48C with the cpu overclocked to 3.8Ghz at 1.4 volts. Ambient temp is about 75F. Most persons complain about the color of the fans but I can't see them inside my case so it doesn't bother me. Yea the cooler is enormous so be confident you have the room. Fits nicely with space to spare in my HAF912 with 200mm exhaust fan in the best. I hope Zambezi is great and I get to use this cooler on a new rig otherwise I will just get the 1100T and be accomplished with upgrading for a bit.specs:Asus Crosshair IV Formula4GB Mushkin DDR3 1600 cas7955BE cpuCrucial C300 SSDAsus 6950 2GBCoolerMaster HAF912

Coolest temps, quietest operation vs airflow with stock fans, has the ability to mount an additional NF-P12 fan at the rear, cools mosfets and northbridge adequately, really uncomplicated and rugged mounting system. Not dominator friendly unless moddified or fan is moved up a small, doesn't match any color scheme, mounting screws can strip somewhat if not cautious. Could use some far better thermal paste, for the very best heatsink to not with ideal thermal compound and not lapped from the factory doesn't make sense to me, but would be my only recommendation is to lap it and pickup some superior thermal paste, I recommend Indigo Xtreme. was in a position to drop my temps an added 10 degrees Celsius below complete load.

This cooling unit is enormous but easy to install and fit perfectly into my BitFenix Shinobi case. You can put some cables that comme with the NH-D14 to reduces the noises of the fans. This will affect the cooling performance as well. Usefull when im not playing big games like BTF3 or skyrim.

So Quiet!! Initially time I powered on technique I believed the fans weren't operating. This is the greatest cpu cooler I have ever observed and utilized. The contact base came nicely polished and was perfectly flat, afixed to cpu and removed to see the thermal paste spread and it looked fantastic!! The push/pull method operates very good although make positive you have the right orientation so your not keeping the hot air in your case. Accessory case came with everything and a bag of chips (better for the quantity of funds this issue expenses LOL) Installation was hassel totally free and simple, good directions provided by Noctua. It is enormous! so program on finding a Large case for it. I purchased a HAFx and the cooler barely has adequate room to clear my GTX 580. Only about 3-4mm of space among the two. I could have altered orientation but it really pulls air around the Video Card so I assume I'm obtaining dual cooling out of it video & CPU. My RAM was on the compatibilty but nevertheless had to install the RAM very first prior to the cooler. Make positive you check the Noctua site RAM compatability list to ensure there is adequate headspace from the bottom of the cooler pipes to the best of the RAM heatsink. I have CPU overclocked to four.4Ghz and CPU idle temps are running at 72 F. Going to run Prime and see what the temps do below max load with this cooler.I don't mind it becoming huge in fact if your going to overclock your cpu bigger is not always superior but this time it is!Some have complained about the aestetics of it and I see their point, however to me it doesn't matter. If it keeps my cpu cool and is quiet at the exact same time I'll put a Pink and Purple one particular in the case. (though I would probably maintain it out of sight as nicely LOL)

Cons:-LOUD-Weight of CPU cooler

Pros:-Keeps CPU temps incredibly low-Inherently cools other components with fans attached
Comment:
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT cooler if you're looking for an air solution. Keeps my AMD 1100T OC'd to 4GHz cool at an idle 22 degrees Celsius, and at max 54 degrees Celsius. I would definitely recommend to someone who is interested in overclocking their CPU, but if you're a noise-fanatic, you may want to think about going water cooling. Though the D-14 includes different voltage attachments that can be put onto the fans to reduce the RPM, their can be a lack of performance if this is done.

You can actually place a third fan on this heatsink! But I don't think it will increase its performance though.. Anyway, this heatsink keeps my i5-2500k (no overclock) at around 30C Idle, and 50C Load. Not too bad I guess. It might be a little pricey, so I probably won't buy one for my next build. (I have my eyes on this Hyper 212.. I heard it was the best bang for the buck heatsink) This review was modfied by poster @ 01-28-12 04:02 PM

Wow, this is the very best air cooler I have ever used. My final build was a water cooled technique, on the other hand for my SB create I did not really wanna go by way of that once again. I did want a fantastic overclock with minimal noise. This cooler did NOT dissapoint. With a 4.6ghz overclock my load temps never ever go above 66c. Idle temps in the high 20's. Not truly a con, even so make certain you have a compatible motherboard and use memory with low profile heat spreaders. This heatsink is Big and calls for adequate room. Having a major case aids too. Installation was rapid and straightforward.

Cons:None

Pros:Very very good for air. I have a i7 930 and at 4g it idles at 35'c and load 69'c. Had a d12 and could not oc it because at 4g it would shoot up to 88 and id stop it.
Comment:
This is one crazy heat sink. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Really didn't think it would be this much better than a d12. Just at stock speeds the d12 would idle at 38'c and load 68'C. This at stock idles at 32 load 43'C. Man this is great. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-26-12 02:30 PM

While I was seeking a silent solution for my cpu cooler, the NH-D14 also give amazing temps.I get 64-65 on all core with a 2600K oced to 4.45ghz with prime95 and the videocard at 100% too.(didn't perform many test to go faster, didn't put any special attention on the paste installation)Result are great, and silent.

1)Quiet - if you have any other fans in your case, they are almost certainly louder.two)Effective - men and women have reported a handful of degrees more than ambientthree)Excellent thermal paste supplied - benchmarking tests have showed it's on par with A.S. five4)Superior cooling to stock (based on tomshardware.com benchmarking) 1)Cost2)Mass Could not operate with some high performance ram modules with taller heatsinks. It will fit in an Antec 300. My 2600k @ 4.5 ghz idles around 28-30 c (ambient temps about 21c). Max load Prime95 testing tops out at 70c, commonly ㅹc.Based on other critiques I may possibly try various fan orientation or thermal paste to bring the temps down a bit more (shooting for a handful of degrees above ambient). The fan speed is fixed with a 3 pin mobo connection.

Pros:+excellent cooling job+quieter than stock HS&F
Comment:
so, yes it is big and heavy, and will more than likely disrupt a RAM slot or two if you're not using low profile ram. thankfully i've spent the last six months or so on and off researching each component for my new build and was aware of all these factors and was able to accommodate for all of them, but not everyone is borderline OCD like i am, so here's a helpful tip/warning for others.it is a fantastic cooler (it better be for the price) and i would recommend it if you want to do serious overclocking and have the cash to spare (and don't mind using low profile memory)

I have to say that this is the very best CPU cooler I have ever applied. As of writing this assessment the temps rand from 30 C to 35 C over all the cores. When stressing the CPU I by no means see above 50 C and a 4.7 GHz overclock on a 2500k. I do have lots of case fans so take that into consideration. Now for some the size is the greatest down fall. It is major so just make confident that you program for that.
