OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:Still not exactly cheap on a $/GB stand point

Pros:Very quick was on Sale
Comment:
Probably on of the most significant upgrades I have ever done. After I did my PC my wife wanted hers done too. That was over a month ago and they are both still VERY fast. The initial start time for Windows 7 went from over a minute (I didn't actually time it) To very quick. It's now ready to use as soon as the initial desktop shows. No more disk thrashing while stuff loads.Neither of mine came with 1.4 they both had 1.5 installed out of the box.Still have about 25GB free on the drive too. Ive Owned 2 Of These Drives (Raid 0) Now For Almost 6 Months Now. Ive Had To Reformat Once Since The Build (Not Related To These Drives) And Oh My God.. Jaw-Dropping Performance.. The Drives Capacities Are Small, But I Purchased A 1TB Drive For Storage. No Issues Whats So Ever.. If You Want To Be Envied, Get Some Solid States.

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:60gb is a little small.

Pros:Very FastSmallRuns insanely cool
Comment:
This was on sale for 200$ so I picked one up after everyone said they are leaps and bounds faster. I found the biggest increase in speed was in games. The only gripe I have is that 60gb isn't enough to hold the OS and a few games on it. When the 120gb comes down in price I will pick one up. But for now this is a great SSD.

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:Purolator =(

Pros:Fast,small,quiet.
Comment:
It comes with firmware 1.4. I didn't flash to 1.5 because It did not seem to come from OCZ official site.Created NTFS and Ext3 partitions on it. Aligned the NTFS under Windows then installed Ubuntu 9.10 on Ext3. Ubuntu did not seem to recognize the partition if I aligned the Ext3 partition. It shows 210MB/s using the hdparm -t tool. Ubuntu load really quick (didn't count how many sec because it's fast enough :P)and programs load much faster than using normal hark drive. Firefox takes like 1.5 sec to load which is much better than before.Still trying to find a way to trim it. Not sure how to use hdparm to trim. And yes, about Purolator *sigh*. They are famous to not use the buzzle or knock the door. Shipping using this service means that you have to goto their depot to pickup your package every time (at least for me) for the delivery people did not know how to use buzzle. Try avoid this service. OCZ vertex deserves much much better delivery service.

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:Price, mail in rebate.

Pros:Lightning fast, easy install. Good warranty.
Comment:
Got two of those in raid 0 config on a fresh install of Windows 7 pro. After disabling the defrag, the pagefile, the indexing and enabling the write back cache on both the drive and the Intel raid controller, I am getting 328MB/sec writes and 445MB/sec reads using ATTO disk benchmarking util. Hd tach reports 449 MB/sec avg reads with 0.1ms access time and 4% cpu utilization. So this makes windows 7 pro boot in roughly 17 secs.Installing Office Pro 2007 enterprise from a dvd took 2 mins.I'm going to pick up a third one of those at some point and just go nuts with 3x60GB raid 0. :D

Cons: None, unbelievably faster than a HDD.

Pros:Adds pep to my system. Came with FW 1.4 installed. Lots of info in the Support Forum
Comment:
Amazingly fast. I use it as a boot/page file/application drive. So fast. With with original firmware HDTune shows about 220MB/s while using it to run Windows 7. Cold boots average at 25 seconds to on Firefox. Hibernation in 10 seconds and from sleep 5.

Cons:Price/GB, requires tweaks in Windows 7 for best performance.

Pros:Fast, runs cool and quietly. TRIM support. No stuttering like older SSDs.
Comment:
Even though the price per GB of these SSDs is high, it's worth it for performance hungry users. I picked up a Silverstone adapter to mount this in a 3.5" drive bay, thanks for the suggestion NCIX!

Cons:Like all SSD's out today, it does tend to stutter for a split second. but not often and only when i'm stressing it with games and many files transferingedit: oh and if you tend to like plugging in the 2 pin HDD activity into your hard drive for the flashing led, i found it kind of weak-meaning that the light is a little dim.

Pros:This thing is fast!

Cool - to the touch and very appealing in my case.i mounted it vertically with some velcro and it looks awesome plus it saves tons of space! heres my setuphttp://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46/jjh21/IMG_0070.jpg?t=1263500568would i buy this over a velociraptor? it's really preference but i opted for this because it's nice and compact and i can bring it to my friend's house.4/5 because firmware update  was not as simple as it could have been. So this is the newest, bestest stocking stuffer to get your cpu crazyed fam member. Everyone is waiting for the price of thee things to come down.As is they are too small for everyones data strage needs and you'll either need external storage or to use a large drive as a data storage. Once we can get a 1tb ssd for $150, hen we'll have moved on to something else exciting. As is, we can't wait/

Super Fast
Comment:
This drive is amazing compared to a conventional hard drive. It's expensive, but this particular drive was a great value compared to competitors with comparable performance. My Core i7 out of the box took almost two minutes to boot. With this Vertex it only takes about 20 seconds. All of my applications now start instantaneously. 64GB is small, but it's plenty for Windows 7 64-bit and all of my applications. My data is stored on conventional hard drives. The Core i7s are so fast you really need an SSD to realize the full potential.

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:- Price- Capacity

Pros:- Very Fast- Silent
Comment:
I always have doubt with the new technologies but I always end up trying it anyway since it's my job. I bought this gem for my own personal computer to install Windows 7 on it. After a month, I wouldn't even think exchanging it for a regular drive. Those drives are very fast and they don't make a single noise. My only complaints would be the price and the capacity of those drives for now. I don't really call that complaints anyway considering the technology is still quite new and that we're paying a good price for it.I wouldn't mind recommending that on new systems for the people willing to put down the money to have the best computer around. For regular customers I'd stick with regular big capacity disks.

Pros:great product, at this price, it is a strong offer
Comment:
at this price, this solid state drive is simply a no brainer, tried it for 1 month as work drive [1st ssd of mine] and just plain astonished me. i have tried older ssd drives in the past and to my experience nothing comes close. as a system drive, will take 50% your boot time, no questions asked. tested vs an intel x-25, a winner is a tough call.

Great drive with lots of speed. The firmware issues need to be sorted out before these are ready for primetime (different firmwares need to be flashed different and some need jumper and some don't).

The drive arrived on time, in fact a day earlier than planned. Nice box but limited manual. Go to the ocztechnology website for checking the firmware version (and flashing it, if necessary). To align the drive go to ocztechnologyforum and find thread 53756. To speed up the system and to limit unnecessary writing (wear) to the disk, disable indexing and use a RAM drive for pagefile and temporary internet files (the one from DataRAM is free and works fine, I use 1 GB). Do not defrag, in stead use wiper.exe (get it from the forum, thread 57434). It keeps your drive clean and it works very quick (15 seconds for a 60 Gb Vertex). I made two partitions, 20 Gb for OS (XP) and programs and 40 Gb for DATA. The Vertex is really fast (less than 30 secs for complete start-up, programs are practically instantaneous) and reliable ...

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:Space. Price.

Pros:Very fast access time. Good performance on random writes.
Comment:
I bought one of these when it was 250$ with a 50$ MIR. I installed it on a Q6600 system with 8GB of ram and installed windows 7 RC1 on it. It was hard to judge the performance of it at first since a new system is always snappy, but it is now 4 months later and the system is as responsive as day 1! I'd say the biggest advantage is not the raw read/write speeds this drive offers (as good as they are!) but the seek time / random writes. As soon as I see my desktop (~45 sec) I can immediately launch anything I want and it will just run! It will perform that way even after weeks of uptime. I love it - best upgrade you can get. My only issues are the storage it offers, which forced me to disable paging and mind what I install on my main drive, and the price. I can't wait till the cost hits 1.5$ per GB :)

Best Investment in My PC In Years
Comment:
Wasn't sure I should buy this but took the leap. Glad I did. The install was tough but the results are amazing. My boot time with antivirus, etc went from 2 and a half minutes down to 49. Everything runs faster. I've up graded processors and never saw such a difference in performance. I also never realized how loud my harddrives were. My desktop runs so much quieter. Now I need to buy some new case fans because the existing one sound was masked by the harddrives. Silent PC here I come! On the install go to the OCZ website and download the directions. After you partition the drive make sure you

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB

I installed Vista Business 64-bit. HD Tune 3.5 shows an average transfer rate of 412MB/s and consistent 0.1 access times.I love how these drives have background garbage collection. OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" Solid State SATA II Hard Drive - 60GB
Cons:-Price-Capacity-Still needs a few tweaks in Windows for ultimate performance

Pros:-Small form factor, light.-Extremely fast-Stutter Free-Firmware updates no longer need a jumper-OCZ updates (Firmware and utilities) are frequent
Comment:
This is probably one of the greatest purchases that I've made in the last year, looking for a speed boost for my OS drive. If you're able to trim Windows down enough with VLite or NLite you won't have many space issues, but the ability to use RAID 0 to upgrade the capacity and speed again, is an additional bonus. One great feature is that OCZ forums are very helpful with suggestions for tweaking, and they seem to be way out in front with firmware updates & utilities for the Vertex series. They've also modified the firmware so it no longer needs a jumper, far less connecting and disconnecting than in the past.I will absolutely be looking at these for all future OS drives.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Comment:
This is my first SSD, it was installed in my first PC build. It worked fine right after the install, no issues. The only thing that I had to do before installation was to order an adapter case for this little 2.5" baby to mount properly into my Cooler Master HAF932. Otherwise, it would have rattled like a BB in an empty freight car. The adapter worked OK and now it is rock solid in place. No FORMATTING needed either like the old HDD's. The BIOS was happy seeing this SDD and the speed is great, the Vista Ultimate 64 now resides there.

I have several of these drives. One failed. OCZ email RMA process was very quick. 1 day from email submission to RMA number and 4 more from day of return to day of arrival. Great Job OCZ. Oh and did I mention this drive really made my spouse happy by rejuvinating her 3-year old Toshiba tablet.
