Well designed product

I knew up front the size of the phone is bigger than any phone out there, it is not the size that I don't like, but it is the way it looks; it looks like my 15 years old HP calculator (square and flat, very few sexy curves). This is well designed phone (I say that because I do product design for living), robust and well thought through. Display is great, good sized screen (touch screen is good), easy to hold to and feels good in hand. The blue tooth engages fast when working in my car, the WIFI works great and is fast. All in all, this is nice phone that does a lot of things, tad on the big side (and square), but if I don't use the supplied case, it will fit in my pocket just fine. This phone has a battery the size of Texas, and yet it is drained very fast for whatever reason and that leads me to my problem with |

Dont know what people are complaining about... bought two of them... quick service .. really fast... do not freeze... manage multiple programs with ease... quicker than all other windows based mobiles.. wifi works well and so does gprs... gps yet to try... all in all one of the best moblies used... will buy more in future and highly recommend the product... |

Over Promises, under delivers

I tried to review this phone, I hate the one I have, and feel hard done by to have to keep it. the vendor did not accept my review, so I have cleaned this up. Buy something else if performance is important to you. g.p.s. requires additional software, and the performance is so poor I doubt it's worth it. |

had high expectations for this phone and bought it over the blackberry, big mistake...first day the phone was very slow, even freezing at times, it had volume issues and the integrated GPS is a joke the only good thing about the phone is the bigger screen. am i satisfied ? no way |

I wanted to upgrade my old t-mobile MDA to the new 3G Dash without adding the data plan to my bill, t-mobile would not approve the discounted price without adding the data plan. So I looked for a unlocked Windows based smart phone that didn't cost $500 + dollars. This one seemed to be the best in the $200 range so i went for it. I've never seen it in any electronic's store so i was surprised to see that it is larger than it looks in the product pictures, which is good for me being a man with man sized hands and fingers. It has a large screen and keyboard which feels very comfortable to type on and to hold in my hand. Text messaging is very easy with this phone.The user interface as well as Mobile MS office have a Windows Vista look and feel, the "black" setting really highlights this well. It also runs programs from the memory card without any problems. Over all the Pharos Traveler 619 is a Great Windows 6.0 smart phone! Good deal, great product! |

This product works really good out of the box. I tested the Wi Fi and it works well better than my stupid blackberry. The GPS is OK if the software is free but i have to pay $60 but it works with no problem.The GPS is a stand alone system. The phone i tested it with a prepaid T mobile and no problem. Overall this is a good value. |

Does it all! - Without equal in the price range.

Pros: The 619 one does it all and at the right price 1. Body is solid. 2. It has a nice key board and touch screen. 3. The GPS works well with Google maps. //// Cons: 1. Bigger than I would like but for the price I can compromise. 2. 1st phone had a bad battery within a week the battery failed it seem to charge fully but it showed an empty battery with ! on the screen the phone worked but I could not tell when battery was low. Pharos will replace battery. 2. Every so often the phone would not come out of sleep mode, and had to do a soft reset. 3. Also the first phone came with out any printed documentation... just a CD and the hardware. The replacement phone arrived with all the printed documentation (warranty card, Little booklet, MS agreement) //// In short: Tiger Direct replaced the problematic phone and I am very happy with the replacement //// Even with the issues I experienced would highly recommend this phone, it has no equal in the price range. |

Poor Service

Received the phone without a battery or case as advertised! I called and they said I had to send the phone back along with the UPS label they would email to me! I still haven't received the label! I went online to Pharos and bought a battery for $30! I have spent thousands of dollars with TigerDirect and this is the 3rd blunder with cell phones! |

The phone looks big at first but once you look at the other phone on the market there is none like this. Loving it thus far, I ordered the phone yesterday evening and received it this morning and I am in the Caribbean! |

So far not a bad Phone!We'll see how lone it last.At the start don't put a password in it kill off all the desktop stuff just have the date and network.You can lock it buy keyboard,keep the memory low you have 40Mb to play whit.HTC programs work on this Phone like Clean Ram,Skyfire is a full browser! Better than IE that come whit this phone. |

Great features but lousy execution. Smart phone features are as expected. Clarity is adequate, as expected. Inadequate and unintuitive instructions on use of features. After reading the manual, you pretty much have to go to the (obviously lengthy) forums on the Pharos web site to figure out how to work many of the features. Electronc manual is pitiful. Example, in trying to figure out how to work the GPS. The manual says follow software makers instructions. Phone has a GPS test program but no instructions on how to turn GPS on. Figured Microsoft Streets and Trips would work as software, but I'm still trying to figure out how to get my computer to reoognize the GPS before I have to return the phone. Oh, it is heavy, but I knew that going in. It fits in a man's shirt pocket. Nice screen but battery life is short, even if you turn off Blue Tooth function. Short version. I would not buy this again. Would choose more expensive G1.
