I average 10MB per second with file transfers over 1GB. Most of what I use this for consists of very large files, so it's hard to wait such a long time. I think I might use my external HDD because it gets an average of 30MB per second. |

I calculate who had the best per gB price and for the quality with rebate this was the best. Plus it come armored and is water resistant. I have mine programmed with over a gb of system files that I carry with me all the time. Leaving me fourteen and a half to carry files, plenty. |

FAT 32 File Limits

My only minor issue with this item is that it comes pre-formatted as FAT32 not NTFS which means the maximum size for a single file is 3.5gb. Formatting it with NTFS wasn't a problem just a pain. |

I have an 8GB and now this 16GB flash drive by Patriot. If you want to use one for anything other than putting pictures and documents on, these are the ones you should buy. I run portable browsers and full on applications from these and you can't tell you're not running them off a hard drive. Well worth the money! |
