After owning it for 1.5 years this thing made it through the washing machine with no damage. Looked like new after the wash too! Comment: I wish they made a 128GB version.
Homer10@Newegg Rating: Review Date: 03/05/10	Flawed diamond. Cons: Died after very heavy useage. I had that thing in and out of the USB ports of over 100 PCs all day long. Finally one day it went intermittent, and finally stopped working. I tried to save it. I whipped out the super duper very fine pitch soldering iron, and tried to fix the broken USB connector to no avail. I gave it a fitting burial in the Ewaste bin, and am looking for another one. Pros: Huge! Fast, very fast. Tough (but not tough enough). Comment: I admit, I killed the poor thing. I also kept a lot of MP3s on it, and plugged it into my car stereo with a USB port to play them. Living on a dirt road, driving home every day the Xporter was subjected to vibrations that finally cracked the USB connector. That dirt road is doing the same thing to my car. All in all I will take a single egg away and give it a solid 4 eggs. It's a darn good flash drive. Better than anything else I've seen.PS: It went through the washer & dryer several times.
Shutterbug@Newegg Rating: Review Date: 02/11/10	Fast reads, writes not so much Cons: Even though it works as stated, the write speed is a little disappointing, especially since the reads are so fast. It's a fairly big deal to me because I consider write speeds more important than read speeds. In all fairness though, there are only a few 32GB drives that even claim similar write speeds and only two that offer appreciably better write speeds and a similar level of toughness (and they cost more). Pros: Read/transfer rate in excess of 20MB/sec. ... write speed is as claimed (they say 4~9 MB/sec., mine is about 5.5MB/sec.) ... drive is all-weather ... impact-resistant ... after rebate should be cheaper than a lot of 32GB drives. Comment: There was little difference in writes whether formatted FAT32 or NTFS ... reads seemed to be a little better with NTFS.

Stumper55@Newegg Rating: Review Date: 02/05/10	Good Luck w/ online RMA Cons: Lets start with what happened, a Crime Scene Tech was going to take a back up from a DVR at a Convenience Store through that units USB port.... Well the DVR reformatted the Xporter and it became unreadable... The PD gave it to us to look at. I contacted Patriot support and they said that they would send me their low-level format tool, and if that didn't work to go to the website and follow the RMA process... Well the LLFT came up with an error code, so I went to their website, and they have an on-line form to fill out, which I did, and included the error code..... Never heard a thing back,,, so I did it again... Still Nothing..... Once more..... Still nothing..... I'm a network admin, so I did check the company spam filter even though the Patriot Support tech that e-mailed me the LL Format tool had no problem getting through the system.... My only conclusion is that their RMA via the website doesn't work, and you should call their 1800 number and sit on the phone for an hour.... Pros: Speed "Nearly" as StatedRubberized case ideal for field personnel & public safetyProduct is: 4 1/2 eggsTech Support from Patriot is: 4 eggsOnline RMA process from Patriot is: 0 eggs Comment: Which I really don't have the time for.... We have dozens, and dozens of their thumb drives, and I do have to say this is the only time we've had a problem, and this is the only time that we've tried an RMA.... the results have not been impressive with the Limited Lifetime warranty.

At least one of those times, I am pretty sure it somehow fell off, probably because it got caught on something while I was wearing it around my neck. This was not a problem because Patriot customer service sent me a replacement for no charge, even though I offered to pay for a new cap(s). Pros: I am a PC tech and I own over a dozen flash drives. I have worn this one around my neck every work day for over a year. I have plugged it into at least 150 computers during that time. I run apps from it, install apps from it, and transfer data to and from it and have never had a glitch. The hole where the lanyard goes has never broken. It is sturdy, fast, reliable, good looking, and has a huge storage capacity. I really like this drive. Comment: The cost was reasonable, you get what you pay for. It was worth every penny I spent. The cap fits tight, but if it fit just a little bit tighter, it would be then be the perfect drive.

I like the fact that it has a big rubber casing, so it doesn't slip out of your hand while handling. Activity light is not too bright. Lifetime warranty. My MIR came in within two months which is fast. Very happy with these. Recommended.

I did convert the drive from fat 32 to NTFS. I will update this review when I do some more testing. Pros:Very large storage size and reasonable price - I paid $79.99. Comment: Great value and extremely handy when transfering large files from work to home. Great for backups and beats carrying around a usb hard drive.

All running programs locked up and became unresponsive during transfer. Transfer speeds were very slow after the initial 4gb. It took me 12 minutes to transfer a 4 GB file, that's unacceptable, especially when your computer is locked up during transfer. Smaller files transferred slowly but didn't seem to lock up windows. It still took me 9 minutes to transfer 2.8GB! I thought the product was defective and sent it back to NCIX. They looked at it and assured me it was fine, so I can only come to this conclusion, it's a buggy USB drive.If you are a light user then the drive is fine, but I wouldn't pay $70 for it. If you value speed and stability then stay away! Spend your money on a bug-free product.Very disappointed

Very useful for carrying restore files/work files/ loading programs to my wife's net book since it has no CD/DVD drive. I like the rubber/water proof casing because I often end up wet from sweat and or sea water, so I don't have to worry about it much and it stays in my pocket when I am upside down and crawling around on decks and ladders and such. Comment: I don't give 5 star/egg reviews for anything because that would imply perfection.

N/A@Newegg Rating: Review Date: 12/01/09	Decent Flash Drive - but flimsy design Cons: Do not keep in your pocket. That is where I kept mine so I wouldn't loose the cap. After almost a year of doing this, the USB connector became bent, eventually enough so when I stuck it in a computer it cracked and now I have to jiggle it all around for it to be recognized. I took the rubber coating to see if I could repair it and was shocked to find the innards protected by a thin flimsy clear plastic shell (which is what cracked.) to top it off, the circuit board is wafer thin and the whole unit bends very easily. If you need something durable do not buy this. Pros: High capacity, low price. Decent speed, much faster on reads than writes though. I spilled water on it and the rubberized coating kept it protected. Comment: I would have rated higher when I first bought it, but the product didn't make it even a year under the same conditions I put several Kingston Data Travelers and Sandisk flash drives through. I work in IT, and I keep service packs, drivers, and utilities on my flash drive so high capacity for a good price was what I was looking for here. In retrospect, I wish I would have stuck with the Kingston products. sf@Newegg Rating: Review Date: 11/19/09	Should have warning not to format drive Cons: Ran the XP Embedded studio USB formatting utility to make drive bootable and noticed right away a huge drop in write performance. Went to Patriot website for support. On their forum there were other people who complained of same issue after formatting. Found suggestion to run the Patriot low level formatting utility to fix issue. Ran the utility and the performance still sucks. Even worst when I try running the utility again I get error messeage "Device info block is corrupted, please return via RMA." this thing brand is new. I have 4 sandisk usb drives and never encounter this issue. Pros: Worked beautifully right out of the box.
