Win 7 Readyboost speed king!!!
Cons: Not a con... foolishness on my part. I should have bought the 8GB or 16 GB version right from the start & trusted this product based on the other reviews here on newegg.But then having ruined so many USB Sticks before in the past & wanting to try this one I decided to go with only the 4GB as I didn't want to throw more money down the drain than need be.This puppy does what it says on the tin & then some more...Certainly faster than Patriot claims it to be & worth every penny.I don't know how they do it or why it isn't burning up like the others did that worked with ReadyBoost, perhaps the speed is so good that there just isn't any stress on this stick...
Pros: Installed on my high end custom built PC the day it arrived from NewEgg (well ahead of schedule as usual).Unlike any other USB stick I have tried to use for win 7 or vista's readyboost, this product is not only fast enough but it has remained 'cool' despite its constant use.Every other USB stick I have used in the past that had the speed to run as readyboost had fried due to heat within the first 2 to 3 days, in fact two had not even lasted a full day before they got so hot you couldn't touch them & of course failed as they pretty much melted the usb components inside the housings.Perhaps the quality of the product with such high speeds allows this product to stay nice & cool under 24 / 7 usage.Win 7 found & loved this USB stick from the moment I popped it into a free space on my PC.Testing the stick gave proof that the speeds are higher than "Patriot" claims for this item.Upgrading the size for ready boost & buying more to replace all other USB sticks here. |

Weak Connector
Cons: The connector bent very easy on mine. I had it plugged into my PC and brushed up against it and the connector is bending and becoming loose which is disappointing. PC is now having trouble detecting drive. Cap is also easy to lose. Not sure why it's not attached.

Love it
Cons: The rubber casing has a loop to hang your lanyard from, I wish this would be reinforced so I could put it on a keychain instead of being expected to wear it around my neck. I feel like if this was on my keys, it would be ripped off in short order since it's just a thin piece of rubber.
Pros: Bought one of these, based on the reviews on this site. Love it. It's very fast and works well.Came with a lanyard and a USB extension cable.Using 2Gig of it for readyboost (which appears to be helping) and the other 2 for whatever. Comment:

Cons: You're going to loose the cap. Just like every other thumb drive you've ever owned or ever will own, the !@*# forsaken cap is not attached to the drive. When will companies figure this out and start attaching the lanyard to it or something?
Pros: For as inexpensive as it was, it has a good feel to it. I have not subjected it to extreme punishment (yet) but the case and seemingly water resistant cap appear to be able to take a beating. The data transfers at an acceptable speed; I get 180X read against their claimed 200x. Comment:

may not work as boot installer
Cons: I bought this item for one purpose: O.S. install from usb. After creating the boot sector and copying CD, etc., according to well-documented procedures, it fails for my motherboard. This is a known problem for some boards. The drive works fine, and is not guaranteed to boot, so can't complain. Didn't work for my intent though. I was not lucky.

Little "Big Jump Drive
Cons: Can't think of any at this time.
Pros: The Xporter XT jump drive is one of the best I have owned, or for that matter seen. I have already stored all my portable files, well all I need to carry. It's like having a file cabinet in your pocket. Anywhere I go so goes all my (URL)s, passwords, encoded and locked of course and just to save space in the old wallet, several MBs of pictures. (Lets see you do that with snapshots.!!!) I have not run it through the wash, yet, neither have I run my car over it and maybe I have "lint free" pockets as it seems to be lint free. Oh, I have not lost the cap but then I still have the cap for my six year old drive also and it is not attached in any way, string or chain, etc. I really like the rubber jacket and it fits just fine with another jump drive just below in in the computer. Fast, yes, what more to be said. Easy to use, just plug and play. My old jump drive I had to download a driver, not this one. A great little big jump drive at a fantastic price. Comment:

Rugged
Cons: easy to lose the cap
Pros: Good read and write speed. I beat this thing up between jobs and home others have failed miserably. This thing went through the washer like so many of my other drives and i took the cover off and dried it out and the files were not corrupted. I have had so many other usb drives with corrupted files after a trip through the washer. Comment:

Loved It!
Cons: Doesn't have a built-in GPS finding system. After my wife fussed at me for keeping it in my pants pocket where it could be damaged, I took it out of my pants pocket and haven't seen it since - Lord knows where I've placed it. Now I'm looking at getting another one since 3 weeks of searching hasn't helped my cause. I don't blame this on Patriot, though - none of them have GPS built in.
Pros: DURABLE! The rubber coating on the outside was perfect for a clumsy individual like myself. I dropped it (never intentionally) on many occasions. It typically stayed in my pocket, and I never had any issues with it beginning to break/USB plug coming loose/loss of data from shock. I used it typically as a bootable USB drive for diagnosing issues with computers, or wiping Windows SAM passwords so I could clean their machine. I did use it for some personal storage also. The BEST flash drive for it's size that I've ever used! Comment:

So far, they have not only survived the boys, but the swimming pool, and the washer & dryer. I know that is not something that would be considered normal ware & tare. Pros: This thing is built for people who depend on putting it to heavy use. This flash drive is in my pocket at all times and has been wet several times without showing any signs of wear or damage. It has fast transfer speeds and works flawlessly with Linux, WinXP, Vista, and Win7. Handles FAT32, NTFS, EXT3........ It is truly plug and play, requires no preloaded drivers or software and never installs anything on your computer (awesome!!) Comment:

Beast Mode
Cons: It gathers up lint. Very easy to clean up though, just with a wet paper towel or even with your hand/finger.
Pros: This flash drive is unbelievable. As said in the description, super fast transfer rates, easy plug n play. No autorun software and all that other stupid stuff some flash drives come with. Extreme durability. This thing has gone through my washing machine and has still come out fully functional and in once piece. The rubber exterior really protects the drive so if its thrown around.. no big deal there. Comment:

ReadyBoost under windows 7 pro (full install) is far better than it was under vista.This USB Stick beats all others tried (I tried over a dozen in all), aside from the speed being more then fast enough to run ReadyBoost on it, the design & durability somehow keeps this item nice & cool.As mentioned above heat had killed any other sticks that were fast enough to run ReadyBoost.Ordering again this week, either the 8GB or the 16GB might even get both as this is certainly the best USB stick I have ever owned even beating out those in the hundred dollar & above price range.You'd expect the ones that cost a fortune, wrapped in heavy duty metals claiming to be bullet proof, stand up to tanks rolling over them but they don't mention the fact that they die due to burning up under constant use.On the basis of this USB stick being so great I am now also looking into other "Patriot" products for their cost / durability factor.
