Cons: VERY slight brownish/yellowish darkness about the width of my mouse pointer down the left side of the screen noticeable on a white background.

Pros: Color reproduction, viewing angle, FULLY adjustable stand, USB port on side, very clear, 16:10, comes assembled, sale price!
Comment:
For the price I probably could've got some TN's 3 21" or 2 23-24" and nearly did. Once I had this hooked up I was glad I got this instead of some TN's. It looks incredible! I would buy one of these again and probably will! The brightness they are set to is insane out of the box. It looked so amazing but gave me a headache. It has a USB port on the side which is nice but you will need a USB cable to connect to the monitor as there is not one included. (USB Type A to B if I remember right, the same as a printer uses any way) A DVI, VGA and power cable are included.I was previously running 2 Mitsubishi 22" DiamondPro CRT's and this completely blows them away. I was holding out with CRT's for a long time and am glad I made the change. For some reason I find the OSD a pain to use compared to other monitors. I have seen the odd worse one but most others feel more intuitive. Maybe it is the button placement more then the OSD itself. In any case it gets the job done as expected. One annoying thing as others have mentioned is setting RGB forces brightness to max. Would be nice to not have to go into the service menu to adjust that.Monitor had 0 dead pixels and I am very happy with it. If you want an amazing display at a good price this is it IMO.

Cons: qualitycalibrationinputs

Pros: coststand
Comment:
Of the two monitors I bought, one had a serious yellow tint and could not be calibrated out of it. In fact, Philips own software calibrator didn't recognize the monitor. Worse, text on light backgrounds was next to impossible to read. There was also green on the left, and red on the right - not horrible, for for the price certainly not acceptable. The other monitor was slightly better in all respect. Not yellow at all, not as bad a green/red issue and text was actually readable. However, in order to be usable, brightness had to be turned so far down that color reproduction was quite bad.The monitors also come with the most basic inputs (1 svga, 1 dvi), and calibration is very limited. The stand is really great though.

Cons: Screen can be almost too intenseNon-illuminated control buttons hard to find in the dark

Pros: Incredible colorsDeep Saturation
Comment:
I am really happy with this monitor. I've put it through various scenarios playing around with its capability. I've attached through PC, Macbook Pro and PS3. All of them work flawlessly. The PS3 is breathtaking and I've seen no blurring as others have commented. Even DVD's are outstanding!I have a lot of movies in divx format that don't display too well but that is more a product of non-HD and low compression on an HD screen. I tried some quick time HD trailers and the result is mind blowing.Very happy with this monitor - so far no dead pixels, no red/green shift as others have reported. A really good purchase. IPS is most definitely worth it.

Cons: not glossy (personal preference)

Pros: Retina searing colour! Colour gamut exceeds the LED backlit panel on my MacBook Pro.
Comment:
The IPS technology makes a huge difference for the colour gamut of the display for only $100 more than an inexpensive 24" LCD display.

Cons: Uneven backlighting, dark brown left edge, weak gaming performance, no HDMI input.

Pros: Vibrant colour.
Comment:
I bought this looking to upgrade over a TN panel so I could do some accurate photo editing, as well as some gaming. The colour on this monitor is really nice, but for the price I don't think the quality is where it needs to be. Out of the box I looked for the red/green colour shift, and there was none. There was a noticeable brown strip along the left edge of the panel, which I was willing to overlook. Eventually though I noticed that when the lighting in the centre of the panel was good, it was considerably darker on the left half of the panel, and much brighter on the right. Maybe about 20% different from one side to the other. Way more than I think is acceptable for twice the price of a comparable size TN panel that bills itself as "professional" quality. Then I started gaming with it. I was playing a fast-paced game at the time and I saw frequent tearing on the screen where I hadn't noticed it with my old monitor. I switched back to my 3-year old TN monitor and the tearing was gone. Horizontal panning during games was also quite blurry. While the colour of this monitor is nice, in the end there were more cons than pros for me and I RMA'd it.

Comment:
This is a great monitor for the price. For $500 taxes in, you get a superb H-IPS monitor that has a great overall ability in all three areas; response time, viewing angles, and colour reproduction. The major problem with this monitor is quality control. The first two monitors I had had severe colour issues and would shift from left to right. After the second RMA, I got a great monitor, everything was nice and even, at least much better than the other two.Problems? Dead pixel. I don't think it's worth the exchange for the chance of another colour shifted monitor. Will be keeping this one. Also a few design flaws, such as the power button being hard to locate because it has no LED, which is in the centre of the screen instead.Overall one of my better buys, but not sure if I would buy this again knowing the troubles of getting a "good" one.

Cons: No HDMI or audio inputs, limited OSD adjustments, Smart Image not very useful, luck of the draw for green/red problem!

Pros: IPS Panel, cristal clear image, price(on sale!), very good colors(after adjustements), tilt, pivot, swivel, no dead pixels!
Comment:
I was one of the first 15 who bought it at the special price of 419.99$. When i found out that this monitor had the same panel as the HP LP2475w but much cheaper , i decided to take a chance on it. I'm glad i did! Excellent picture! I use it for video encoding and i could not be happier! However , as some have noted, there some importants drawbacks to this monitor. -With no HDMI or audio inputs, you cannot use it for console or TV(too bad :-( ).-OSD adjustements are very limited.-Need some serious calibration. My monitor doesn't seem to have the green/red problem that some have reported, so i feel lucky. This monitor is not perfect. But no monitor are.Nevertheless, the positives on this monitor outweight the negatives big time! You would be hard put to find a better value for this priceI would buy it again.

Cons: The inputs and outputs are limited, but not restrictive, but this is not a multimedia monitor.

Pros: The stand is of excellent merit: The set up controls, awkward at first, are comprehensive. This is the lcd screen you save up for, for autocad, photoshop and web graphic work.

Having addressed the merits of left half , right half, screen fidelity; Alex was understanding of some unit flaws. Setting up and doing a white balance test, i found my unit flawless. What a joy to use. Thanks Alex for you help. Excellent service. rtg.

Cons: -Basic VGA and DVI connectivity -The Philips calibration software may not be enough to get this monitor set up to your liking, so you may need to resort to other methods of calibration (not really the fault of the monitor, just how I feel about the Philips software)

Pros: -Rich, full colors-Input lag and response time is good for gaming-Sturdy stand that has height and tilt adjustment -Front display LED can be dimmed or turned off-Non glare screen and matte bezel
Comment:
This monitor is a real sweet spot for having both color quality and gaming capabilities that I have seen in a long time. I waited a couple of weeks before writing a review to make sure that I got a good test run out of it first and I am still as happy with it now as when it first arrived.

Cons: -Somewhat lacking in the display adjustments-SmartImage modes are ridiculous and should be avoided.

Pros: -1920 x 1200 resolution -Versatile stand allowing for all sorts of freedom-Shows fine details very well-Dark scenes not washed out and are very easy to see-Viewing from afar and at angles is the same as sitting right at the screen-Matte finish and tasteful overall design
Comment:
I am not a graphics artist nor do I have ultra high demands or expectations. This review is catered more towards people who are wondering if this particular monitor is a worthwhile purchase above and beyond your standard el cheapo TN panel and the things that I liked about it in comparison. For this price, even though it's still double that of similarly sized TN panels, my answer would be a wholehearted YES.

Cons: Slow warm up timeUneven colour tint (major flaw)

Pros: No bleedingNo dead pixelEven enough brightnessGood viewing angle w/o colour shift

I was a little hesitate to put out a not-so-good review, but Greg just make my day. The 1st 240PW9 that I had, had severe green colour tint on the left 1/2 of the screen, and red on the other 1/2. Being an IPS panel some buyers are probably using it for Photoshop (or whatever other similar purpose), but the uneven colour tints defect this purpose and the charm of an IPS. The 2nd unit that I have now is a little better, but basically the same. Obviously some H-IPS panels do not have this problem but 2 out of 2 for me suggests the chance of getting a bad one is high. If not for the uneven colour tint issue, I would have given it 4.5 stars (1/2 star for the slow warm up). Cons: Needs a fair bit of adjustment, viewing angles aren't quite as good as claimed.

Pros: Bright, good colour, large, decent viewing angles, reasonably priced, for IPS monitor.
Comment:
FINALLY NCIX got some reasonably priced(at least for this type of monitor) IPS monitors in stock, so since they're kind of rare at this point, I grabbed one a.s.a.p., and so far am liking it quite a bit.Good points:- Very bright(too bright actually, but that can be fixed), and text on web pages, and elsewhere, is very crisp and easy to read, even for someone like me, that needs glasses.- Very good colour, although it's too intense straight out of the box(once again, something that can be fixed).- Considering that IPS monitors are fairly rare, and often kind of pricey, this one is very reasonably priced, especially on sale.- Good viewing angles, at least compared to other LCDs, especially TN panels.- 24" screen is a nice upgrade in usable real estate, especially when moving up from a 19" CRT.- Very good for watching movies, even from the side(eg. 3 chairs across in front of the monitor), although dark scenes display some banding, at least while watching DVD.... Bluray would likely be better.- No dead pixels, at least on my monitor.Bad points:- Needs quite a bit of adjustment out of the box.- Although the viewing angles are better than many LCDs, they're not quite as good as claimed, i.e. the vertical angles aren't that good, but the horizontal angles are actually pretty decent.A couple of things to consider, if you're thinking about buying one of these:Although not evident on my monitor, it seems a few of these are displaying a green/red tint problem.... I'd suggest reading the forum posts about it, linked to on the product page, before making your decision. The one thing I can't really comment on, at this point, is how this monitor performs while gaming - up 'til now, I've only played about a half hour of L4D, and didn't notice any lag or blurring, although, once again, that has been reported in forum posts.
