Quiet due to no fan, uses really little electricity, HDMI, and plays games at a reasonable level. -Win 7 64, AMD AM2 primarily based method. I haven't had something crop up. I could generally add a additional direct fan if I felt the heatsink wasn't adequate. There is a bit airflow from two fans at the front of my case, but I'm positive it's quite warm by the time it reaches the card possessing to travel across a couple of difficult drives initially.

-With rebate, this card would have been ฤ - challenging to beat that-Purchased an ASUS EAH5450 card (identical specs & chipset) at the same time, and the ASUS performed slightly greater, possibly five%.-Fanless! even below full WEI test loads it never ever surpassed 150 F. The PowerColor card did slightly greater on heat, probably averaging five F less. -With rebate, this card would have been ฤ - difficult to beat that -Windows 7 x64 WEI for graphics/aero was 3.5, and gaming graphics was five.6.-All I wanted this card for was to drive a 2560 x 1600 LCD for desktop use (no gaming, or actual graphics, just desktop & audio apps), and it didn't do a very good job. There was a slight stutter to moving windows about. You could tell one thing wasn't working proper, or the card was obtaining a difficult time. -I lowered resolution onto a 1900 x 1200 LCD, and the card still had the same difficulties. -Video capture onscreen test wasn't good at all - lots of lag & audio/video sync difficulties, even at highest settings. -Card also brought on my BIOS to pause for about 15 seconds on bootup for unknown purpose (clear all cmos settings, no joy) -My XFX GeForece 7600 GS (also fanless) from a couple of years ago performs far better than this card. I'm sending this card back & maintaining what I have. -XFX 7600 GS gave Windows 7 x64 WEI for graphics/aero was four.2, and gaming graphics was four.5, with fluid window movements, & no stutter.

Price, fanless I am using this on an Asus M4A785-M operating Windows 7 Ultimate. Apparently "Scaling" is a effectively documented concern. However, my challenge of not being able to display full widescreen format on my 42" LG LCD Television can not be attributed to scaling. I have downloaded drivers galore, a "hot repair" or two and I am nevertheless unable to do complete screen letterbox. Its just about as if it is scaling 4ɇ alternatively of 16ɍ? I have but to attempt consumer service but a video card shouldnt be this tough.I am open to recommendations. As properly documented as this challenge is on the Planet Wide Net I cant believe I am the very first to encounter in Newegg testimonials. Manufacturer Response:There is a setting deep within the Catalyst Control center that allows you to adjust underscan/overscan settings. If you shoot me an e-mail I'll be much more than delighted to support you with that. My e-mail is hugo@powercolor.com, thanks.-Hugo

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Comment:
Fan-less and doesn't require an external power connector. Does great house theater and plays lite games like Portal and Torchlight adequately. Worked great on set up of Windows 7 x64 from scratch. Downloaded the Drivers from the ATI web site. The card was fairly speedy and snappy. Household theater looks great to me. I now have audio via the HDMI channel on my Television which I did not with my Nvidia DVI connection, and that make me satisfied. It is working effectively in a hot poorly Air conditioned room. It took a little whilst to get my HDMI 42 inch Tv at 1080i resolution up and operating due to the fact somehow it remembered my 720p resolution from the 32 inch I had used in the course of my install. However, this was a driver usage circumstance and not anything to do with the card. I nevertheless don't have a deal with on how to use the ATI's console well and it took longer than I wanted it too. When I ordered this, a ů dollar half height bracket was added that I did not want. Be aware, perhaps you can get it off your order. Concerning Sound by means of the HDMI channel: when working with Windows with one of the ATI cards you will not have sound coming from the jacks on the personal computer anymore. Windows routes it through the ATI card OR by way of the jacks, not both. So you have to bring up the Sound Application from the manage panel and set the default sound device to switch among them. I pinned this to the desktop so I could switch it since the Jacks run via my Surround Sound Technique.Concerning overall performance: I ran FurMark on it and I want to say it ran in the 900's compared to my ATI 5750 which was about 2600 and my Nvidia GTS 8800 which was around 1900. So it's no super duper gaming card. But ok for lite stuff.

Silent, wonderful upgrade from onboard. Wonderful image and overall performance. Card came in an undamaged box, but bracket was bent. Manually bent bracket straight by hand. I was previously working with an old nVidia 6600gt that performed well for about 5 years in an HTPC, exact same set up with 42" and a 22" LCD Tv's hooked up, 1 1080p, and one particular 720p, previously had 1440 x 900 resolution with the nVidia card on both and worked fine, with this new card, can not get the screen to fill the large Television...there is a modest black border around the image...have attempted everything...guess I will just live with it. May well be attainable to repair with a distinct Television.

-Cheap-UVD2 for decoding MPEG-2 and H.264-Bitstreams Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD-Quiet However this card doesn't function in my HTPC which utilizes an older nforce four ultra chipset. When I boot up the machine with the 5450 installed I get no post, and the boot approach is halted at boot code C1h which according to my manual is memory initialization. I've tried taking out sticks of RAM in different configurations and I nonetheless can't get the card to perform, no post. I am able to use my Nvidia 8800gt with this machine, which is a PCIe two. card. However, if I install the 5450 in my desktop that utilizes an AMD 790FX chipset, the card functions beautifully. Not truly confident whats going on, but I'll maintain the card and hopefully choose up a new mobo soon.I guess I'll leave the 8800gt in the HTPC, which is overkill but my older 7600gt doesn't support HDCP for bluray :(. Manufacturer Response:Some older systems need a BIOS update for the motherboard to increase compatibility with specific 5000 series graphics cards (this isn't a Powercolor exclusive challenge). Not everyone has gone this route, and as such, compatibility remains a problem. Thanks.-Hugo

Great price for the latest technology from ATI. Video card is fanless and can handle light gaming. I bought this for an older compaq. Sadly it wasn't clear that this card is a PCI Express x16 v. two card. It is NOT compatible with vanilla PCI Express x16. Manufacturer Response:Like I described in one more assessment, this card is not PCI-E 2. only. I tested internally on two different PCI-E 1.1 primarily based boards (AMD 690V, and Intel P35) and both worked flawlessly. I also attempted a few cards in a PCI-E 1. technique (VIA PT880Pro chipset) and it worked just fine as properly. I'm leaning towards a possible DOA, or perhaps some thing else. Feel free of charge to shoot me an e-mail and I'll be more than delighted to help you attempt and get this resolved. My e-mail is hugo@powercolor.com, and be confident to reference this overview. Anyone who complains about 512MB 64-bit DDR3 Radeon card that costs much less than โ probably complains about practically everything. Ya, Powercolor isn't known for it's stellar performance, but most folks know that. I just built a ASUS M2N68-AM PLUS AM3/AM2+/AM2 with a AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz cpu and Win 7. I'm a gamer, but a THRIFTY gamer. Anything was extremely compatible, which includes this video card. No troubles at all. The only game I've played so far is MLB 2K10 and the graphics are fantastic! I haven't noticed the heat issue as pointed out in the other post and I only cool my program with four 80mm fans. There are some squiggly lines in the upper proper hand corner of my screen when I work in the desktop, but they don't show up in my other applications, including my games, so I can reside with it.

Wonderful cost performance ratio. Not a gaming card, but it's not like it tries to be a single. Few months ago I got tired of stickiness with which my on-board graphics played flash and other video intense content. It was at that point that even larger resolution uTube videos would stutter. So I decided to get this card just to enhance my web browsing expertise. As a result I got 4.6 Windows 7 Experience Graphics Index out of it. Nothing special, but it definitely enhanced my browser's overall performance to that point where I'm not finding all irritated although watching uTube in HD and such.It took six weeks for the rebate to arrive, not also bad either.

Silent, low-profile (HDMI+DVI low-profile bracket was included in mine), very low energy consumption, effortlessly handles HD video. None so far. Just don't expect strong 3D functionality with higher resolutions and/or modern games. Not truly a con though, as it's not intended for that. I was pleased to learn the BIOS is set for very aggressive beneath-clocking of the GPU when not in 3D mode or performing video processing. It idles at only 𞳆MHz and kicks up to the stock 650MHz when necessary. This is ideal as I leave the HTPC on 24x7 because it's also functioning as our DVR. This card replaced a 7200GS that didn't do any sort of dynamic GPU clock adustment at all. No issues with heat so far. I do have a really low speed (inaudible) 40mm fan moving some air involving this card and the tuner proper subsequent to it, which generates a fantastic quantity of heat on its own. I can't relocate the tuner due to the PCIe slot configuration on the mobo. If I could move the tuner even just one particular slot away I'd dispense with the fan altogether.

Able to do Bitstream over HDMI in Win 7. Wonderful for media center Pc being fanless. Hi-def content runs flawlesslly. All HD audio recognized more than HDMI by receiver. Great price. None so far. Not necessarily for gaming, but I only bought it for a devoted media center machine. Extremely content with it for that respect Took some tweaking of Windows 7 to get the bitstreaming functioning in WMC and XBMC. You have to set the windows sound configuration to stereo and then the sound configuration in WMC to five.1 or 7.1 (depending on your setup). Also make confident auto sound level is turned off in WMC. In XBMC just make certain it is employing the HDMI is the principal sound out and that the the checkmarks for the receiver to do the decoding are checked, unless you want the Computer to do the decoding and just place out a multi-channel surround more than HDMI. That functions as well, but I like to see what is being decoded on my receiver. Such a far better setup than what I had just before where I used analog outputs for every single channel into my five.1 inputs in my receiver. This is considerably cleaner with much less cabling. Video high quality is what I expect from a reduced level video card. I can't complain as it does 1080P blu-ray with no challenge. Hugely advocate for media center boxes.

None...properly, it wasn't totally DOA, but it most likely would have died anyway, so that's just a technicality.A single egg considering that it at least booted into Windows and so forth. I have by no means taken time to create a negative review of a item prior to, Till THIS One particular! Haha, that's how much it sucked IMHO. Ummm, not enough area to say. I will keep away from Powercolor brand cards for life. I have never ever had any "physical" hardware challenge with a video card functioning before (non-driver/software associated etc). This card was causing colored lines to seem in 2D desktop and when playing video. We're not even talking 3D game artifacting as the explanation for corruption (and of course I did not acquire this low finish card for gaming either). Even although this is a low end card, I was only buying it for 2D and Blu-Ray playback in a HTPC. It couldn't even do that....No matter what driver I utilised, it had these line artifacts (not frequency monitor drive-associated lines either) although sitting idle at the desktop and whilst playing video (used WMP in Vista x32 and Win 7x64) and Energy DVD 7 Ultra as nicely (both OS'es). I tried different driver versions, AND checked the temps (they were never larger than 48C, which is NOT higher for a video card of any cooling resolution). I even used ATI CCC to underclock the card in the occasion that the gimped card was temp intolerant circuitry-wise, and this had no effect. I suspect that even for a "low-finish" card, they utilized the cheapest caps and chokes they could locate in a bin in the back room, and soldered away! I returned it...and spent extra 10 bucks and opted for the Gigabyte version the 2nd time about. Would have saved if I had just gone w/ Gigabyte the first time around. I really looked at the zoomed pics of the Gigabyte card, and at least they seem to have applied far better chokes. I have a mobo from them, and they look to use top quality components. Don't attempt to save a few bucks, purchase a much better brand! It charges significantly less in $$$ and RMA headaches in the extended run. Manufacturer Response:The root of all your issues could come down to anything as easy as a defective card. Things like that could occur when you're dealing with electronics. Nothing at all you've describe would make me assume that something else is the case other than possibly a malfunctioning card, which genuinely the only option for is obtaining the card replaced. Factors like these occur in this sector. I apologize it had to happen to you, but that's why we, as well as Newegg, have return/RMA policies in location. If you want any extra help in this matter feel free of charge to e-mail me and I'll be additional than happy to aid you. Hugo@powercolor.com. Thanks.-Hugo

Wonderful price tag and great for an HTPC setup. No fan, so you won't have to worry about noise and you won't need to have a beefy psu to help it. I jumped on WoW and I couldn't max out the settings devoid of frames dropping to an unacceptable price. Provided the low requirements of that game, I can't recommend buying this if you intend to play any games. Yea, it's got DX11 assistance, but I can't think about trying to play Dirt two on this. I returned this for anything with far more energy. Going to get a Sapphire Vapor-X 5770. If you're constructing an HTPC, then this is the card for you!

Perfect style for HTPC: smaller, fanless, low-power, entirely capable of deinterlacing 1080i. Looks ideal on paper for HTPC use. And the value was fair. HDMI port showed as "no signal" on my Sony LCD Tv. Otherwise this would've been the magic bullet upgrade from my onboard video. Not the only ATI card with a "no signal" problem on HDMI. Tried several cables, mobos, inputs; all no signal although other video cards worked fine. YMMV. Decided to swap cards with a different property Computer rather than spend & wait with RMA and drop rebate. Manufacturer Response:Due to the fact the HDMI port is digital it wants to be configured and setup a specific way. Items that would operate on older show ports (such as VGA or DVI) dont perform the exact same as they do on HDMI. With that being stated, it's really uncommon to have a card exactly where only the HDMI output fails. Did you make confident to try the HDMI as the only show plugged in? On this model, the HDMI and VGA are shared so if you were making use of a VGA monitor at the very same time as your Tv then that would explain why the HDMI didn't display something. operates wonderful, cost is suitable, installs easily, low energy consumption none? I bought this card for a desktop computer that is in the processing of becoming converted to a HTPC. My old on-board graphics card had some concerns with outputting to HDTVs (mainly due to the refresh rate of VGA monitors vs that of HDTVs, I think). The card works good, video is gorgeous on my HDTV.The card was virtually plug and play.. I had to watch some tutorials on the suitable way to install a new card (which included disabling the on-board video)...but Windows 7 did this automatically for me. No issues with the card so far. This card isn't for gaming (I haven't tried), but video looks fantastic, and its worked fairly well for the restricted amount of CAD modeling I've thrown at it as properly (Pro/E)

Passive cooling. Low energy. Blu-ray playback functions fantastic. You have to turn off hardware acceleration below flash. This is possibly a driver issue that will be resolved more than time. The drivers on the CD function better than the drivers available from ATI's internet site (as of Feb 2010). I identified that out the really hard way. This is NOT a gaming card. This is an HTPC card. It does a very good job with google earth, but if you're searching to run any sort of games on this at all then you really need to have to feel once again. Shell out an additional โ and get the 5670 if you want a fundamental gaming card. Or better however get a 5770.
