Cherry MX Blue keyswitches offer a clean keystroke and a satisfying click in use; Hefty create high quality with fantastic materials; Worth value for a totally mechanical board; Multimedia keys and macro keys provided (however you can macro any important you want) No indent on the Caps Lock important for typists who use it to come across the home row rapidly; F keys not in the common position; Recording macros is confusing on the keyboard itself and infuriating in the Razer handle panel; Key actuation force is too light for my taste, particularly for a gaming keyboard; Minor top quality control problems with my unit (a couple of keys stick ever so slightly just before reaching the top rated of their keystroke, though not adequate that the crucial is accidentally actuated); Multimedia keys are by means of Function essential and not direct, and the Function essential is on the wrong side (in my opinion) This is a decent entry-level mechanical keyboard for folks who have never applied a genuine mechanical keyboard, but keys that are as well light and terrible software keeps me from recommending it. The down stroke of the keys is nice and snappy, but the return stroke isn't really as clean (you can get the key to re-engage with out re-actuating the down stroke click), specifically compared to the Model M Unicomp keyboard I use at operate. That board's keys are also substantially stiffer and in my opinion just nicer to variety on. Also note that this board is quite loud, so hold that in mind if you'll be using it in a shared space. If you're listening Razer - stiffer keyswitches, direct-access multimedia keys, and a manage panel that isn't a nightmare to use and you'd have a 5 star item on your hands, even at ten or twenty bucks much more.In the meantime, my recommendation for gamers who also want typing bliss is a Model M + a G15 or Nostromo.

Mechanical! Cherry blue switches, good audible and tactile feedback.Outstanding response latency.Excellent value for a mechanical keyboard.Appears fantastic.Macros, and potential to entirely reconfigure each keybind tends to make this vastly superior to most other mech keyboards. Believe of it as a gamepad with a TON of buttons you can transform as you will for diverse games! The configuration computer software is easy and straightforward to use. Can be a small loud, sounds like a typewriter. Get this more than the Black Widow Ultimate. All you get with the ultimate is some audio jacks, a USB port, and backlighting....for โ a lot more. Yikes!Even so, this model is excellent for its price tag. Simply the finest keyboard I've owned.

Quite sturdy develop. Appreciate how heavy the keys are. Some would get in touch with the noise a con, but I like it. The explanation this rated at 5 eggs was the spacebar feels sticky. When you push down it feels like it stays down. I don't know if that will grow to be a larger issue later, but we'll see.

Superb really feel and response. Audible click is loud, but I keep in mind the old IBM and its the very same. Incredibly very rapid to kind. TwoɅ)I do not like the keys font2)The shift character font is extremely also dark. I am not a touch typist, and in moderately light room they are challenging to see. I can't stand it any longer. I am a programmer by trade, I just cant preserve making use of he low cost Dell keyboard at perform and then come house to my Caddy keyboard to game. I am going to have to obtain one for function.

If you have under no circumstances typed on a mechanical keyboard you don't know what you are missing. this is one of the best values for a mechanical keyboard you can find. razer didn't gimmick this out as it is quite compact, nice texture on the keys. the only gimmicky factors are the gloss black finish (fingerprint nightmare) and the illuminate razer emblem on the bottom which i truly kind of like. you can make it glow with the function+f12 key for some fans of this nonsense =) macro essential placing take some time to get employed as well. being a competitive sc2 player i was struggling as i was employed to the reduced right corner of my keyboard getting the ctrl important but i kept going to the macro keys. the macro keys are cute, but i don't use them significantly. none of these are really cons of the keyboard but a lot more personal preference. ok, the "clicky" noise is what you get with mechanical switches. if you create that as a con then you didn't know what you have been getting. razer makes a lot of "gaming keyboards." the black widow uses cherry blues, so it is actually a medium grade noise response from typing. honestly, i adore it. not everyone will, and i advocate that if you are thinking of obtaining a mechanical keyboard you need to check out some youtube videos to get an thought of what sound they make.

- solid construct and feel- Cherry MX Blue mechanical keys- tactile feedback and outstanding for typing- gaming keys, mode and game profiles- looks quite slick- reasonable price tag when on sale - typing is loud- no wrist rest- dark grey special characters are challenging to seeAll in all, it seems the positive aspects outweigh the cons, and I would advise this keyboard. I've had it for a few weeks now and it appears to be of a strong build. Hopefully it will last for years to come. Most mechanical keyboards, particularly those for gaming, are well more than 贄. This one was fairy priced at ๟.99, and you can generally get it on sale like I did. It surely has some good gaming attributes, like the five programmable macro keys, and the speedy actuation Cherry MX Blue mechanical keys. The software program included in the bundle appears effortless to use, and if you haven't utilized a mechanical keyboard just before, give it a try. Trust me, the feel and feedback is evening and day when compared to the low-cost membrane keyboards offered on the market. I virtually purchased a Logitech G15 to replace my Eclipse, but tried typing on it and it just felt like mush. The Cherry Blue keys on the BlackWidow have a "click" to them, so when you press them you know exactly when they are actuated, and they have a bounce back, so the keys nearly push your fingers into motion. I seriously really feel like it makes me form quicker, and its enjoyable typing on it all round.

Solid develop quality & worth. Price is inexpensive for a strong entry level mechanical keyboard. Wonderful if you're not a hardcore gamer. Not full N-Important rollover!!! If your apm is high, undertaking 1a, 2a quick will not let your second group of units attack. It will ignore the command mainly because these key combinations do not perform.Fron Jinro the GSL SC2 professional player, one particular of posted on teamliquid forums: Is it just me or does any person else have problems with not all commands becoming recognized when you 1a2a3a with this keyboard? Commonly group 2 wont give a @#$! I just ordered them to attack.....my theory is this:- Razer Blackwidow uses blue switches, blue switches will need to be totally released ahead of they can be pressed once more.- 1+a operates fine simultaneously, nevertheless if you go 1a2 the two does not get recognized. Therefore my theory is that I press 1a2a also quick, leading to two being pressed prior to 1a has been released, and therefore not getting recognized.^^^ Jinro is correct. He ought to dump the keyboard for a genuine GAMING KEYBOARD and if any of my preferred SlayerS players shed in GSL from using this keyboard I can not The function keys are shifted to the suitable is also terrible and farther for swift camera hotkeys in starcraft. I like this keyboard for the price tag but need to ave spent a lot more dollars on a much better mechanical keyboard.Subsequent TIME RAZER IF YOU EVER MAKE A NEW MECH KEYBOARD, MAKE IT BROWN SWITCHES AND Complete NKRO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO Pay ME FOR TELLING YOU HOW TO MAKE A Great GAMING KEYBOARD JUST DO IT. Manufacturer Response:Hello STARCRAFT GAMER,Thanks for your feedback. Our items are created by gathering feedback from multiple gamers and some style capabilities are a matter of individual preference. The following FAQ from out website may possibly enable answer some of your concerns with regards to NKRO rollover and the Razer BlackWidow. Q: Does the Razer BlackWidow have anti-ghosting capability? How about NKRO? A: Yes, the Razer BlackWidow capabilities a gaming optimized crucial matrix that enables the recognition up to six simultaneous crucial presses. N-important rollover (NKRO) only works with a direct connection to a native PSǘ port on the computer which delivers for other limitations that USB overcomes. The Razer BlackWidows gaming optimized essential matrix serves a similar goal although employing an ordinary USB port.

Cons:- Awkward feel due to the 5 Macro Keys - Material isn't as solid

Pros:Nice Glossy Look
Comment:
I bought this keyboard for gaming not knowing this keyboard uses blue switches, which is for typing. I have issues typing on this keyboard because the whole keyboard layout is shifted slightly to the right due to the column of 5 macro keys. This keyboard looks very nice though, since it has a glossy finish and also have razer logo that can light up. Not a bad keyboard for a budget mechanical keyboard.

Cherry MX Blues' tactile response feel good for typing. I have no problem gaming with the Blues (mainly playing SC2 and a handful of FPS games) even though other folks have reported difficulties. Construct high quality is Strong. Laser etched keys and general keyboard aesthetic is good. Braided cord. Sounds "clacky" like old college keyboards (may be a Con for some). Higher gloss coating (fingerprints galore). The macro keys are stupid. Razer has changed the complete layout of the keyboard so almost everything is shifted to the suitable. After a couple of days of use you will get applied to this, but I don't feel it was necessary. The only dilemma I have with build good quality is where the cord attaches to the keyboard, as it appears like it could at some point put on out. An wonderful value for a strong keyboard, but I seriously want the macro buttons didn't exist. Razer says the shift of the keys to the appropriate is to provide quicker crucial press times for games that require the F-essential row. I wouldn't know. The 2KRO rollover has been "optimized" so up to six keys can be pressed at the exact same time close to the WASD cluster. Some crucial presses like ZVB will not work, but ASDFG performs fine. For games like SC2 this is not a challenge at all.Bottom line: If you can get employed to the readjustment of the important placement I would hugely propose this product. Bravo to Razer for providing a higher excellent mech keyboard at a affordable value.

Lightweight mechanical keys - Effortless to sort on and game with for hours on finish with as small strain as possible. No additional media keys added. They are integrated in with the function keys. Gets rid of some excess bulk.5 programmable macro keys, with on the fly mapping. Can turn off the glowing logo.Media keys operate out of the box with linux. No linux support for the macro functions. Drop an egg This is a wonderful keyboard that is a pleasure to sort on. The potential to remap on the fly is superb. I just want the macro functions were supported in Linux. This point feels rock strong and has a good bit of heft to it. In a pinch you can use it for the duration of a zombie apocalypse as a bludgeoning weapon.

Mechanical keys do feel superior and far more sensitive than my preceding razor. They keyboard is strong, heavy, and looks good. I looked at the images of this shown on the razor web page, which show the keyboard as flat. The keyboard is tilted so that in a typical position it is the similar as a regular keyboard with the rear supports extended. On top of this the keys are tiered, so the number keys are drastically larger than the letter keys. For typing I don't uncover this to be an problem but it tends to make for a attain when gaming, I can't very figure out why it's laid out like this and why the razor website photographs are not the keyboard that I purchased. Although my 'cons' are lengthy, I feel with time I could get used to them. I could make supports to raise the front of the keyboard.

Couldn't ask for a additional solid keyboard, the macro keys on the side are a great addition if you like to play MMO's or something of the sort, I loved the blue switches, I sold my blackwidow to test out steelseries 6gv2 to test out different switches, I miss the layout and click of the blackwidow, though. Glossy finish, fingerprint incorporated on that keyboard for confident, but not worth lowering the egg count. None, wonderful keyboard, purchase it.

The feel of the of the board is outstanding. In a fight I would hit an individual with this factor. And most likely Knock them Out. The buttons are extremely responsive, really small action on the customers element. The travel is exceptional, really rigid. I have a zboard and it incredibly diverse from that to this. The membrane on the zboard is tougher and the appropriate side of the board. So, coming from that; this is a huge unique, I feel like I can type 100 wpm with this board. The macro keys are is a weird place for playing SC2. The control button is a button that is applied heavily. Right after a couple days, you get use to it. Have a micro fiber cloth. It is heavy. I retain it with my Asus G73jh in a Targus XL. And it is about 25lbs. And just fits in my backpack. Greatest use for a desktop.

The Razer Blackwidow has a lot of great factors going for it. For starters the keys really feel really fantastic on the push and release, clearly that goes for most mech keyboards but the keys seem lighter then most. If you have heavy hands I could see this as a con but for me its a huge plus. It's also a fairly sturdy in its make, it's no steelseries 7g but its also not flimsy. Lastly I wanna point out that this keyboard is missing a conventional wrist wrest but that does not mean that its uncomfortable. On the contrary it's speedily becoming my preferred keyboard for this explanation. I can game on it for extended periods and I don't really feel it in my wrists. The most significant dilemma with this keyboard is the razer drivers. The drivers are not overbearingly problematic but there also not the greatest. I have had 1 instance with key actuation stick (thats where you press and release the essential but the command loops till you either unplug the keyboard or unstick the command with a tap) but thats 1 of two difficulties that I have encountered in my three months of ownership. I play SC2,LOL and crysis two and only when in crysis did this keyboard do the random key spam lockup. All in all for the funds I would suggest this keyboard with a warning. This is a razer item and its the only razer product that i have not wanted to insert a bomb in and send back to razer.

Clicky! Really satisfying important activation sounds. Smooth keystrokes. Compact (for a "gaming" keyboard anyway). Macro keys are in an simply accessible place if your applied to the wasd hand placement. It is also a really nice seeking keyboard. The font scares me a tiny bit. As pointed out in a handful of of the other critiques, there is no gap amongst the A and Caps Lock important, took some work to get utilized to it. Keys feel a bit cramped compared to the Saitek Eclipse that it replaced. I'm not a huge fan of high gloss finish on issues that my hands touch either. Surely a fingerprint magnet. Even though only minor flaws, they nevertheless keep it from receiving a great 5. There are a couple of minor quirks, but overall a quite strong feeling keyboard. Also decently priced for each a Razer and Mechanical keyboard. It's pretty minimalistic, but nonetheless has all the functionality of a gamer's board. This is only an initial assessment, as I have only been utilizing the board for a handful of days. I'm sure I'll post one more one up in a few months, especially if there is something that starts to go incorrect with it.

Thumbs up for Newegg!! I do a lot of on line shopping and they are the only one particular I have never ever had a dilemma with!! There costumer service is unmatchable!! This keyboard has awesome response time! Extremely crisp sold feel when gaming. Macro keys are cool but I uncover I don't use them substantially. Looks excellent and is not to large. Solid construction. For the cost this is a Really nice keyboard. Not really cons but this keyboard is a bit noisy compared to my old mechanical keyboard, could be simply because my old one is completely worn out. The gloss finish looks excellent but smudges. From what I can see most the cons people have with the Black Widow are additional individual preferences. I have been shopping about for a new mechanical keyboard for some time and am quite satisfied with my acquire! My last board was a Cherry mechanical board that stood up to about 3 years of heavy gaming and receiving taken to numerous LAN party's. If you have in no way used a mechanical keyboard GET 1. Ounce you use a single for a tiny although the standard membrane boards feel like typing on a floppy sponge!! I am glad to see some "gaming" mechanical boards surfacing. My ugly cherry generally got made fun of by the Logitech G series guys. For me its constantly been performance over cosmetics.

Really properly built, mechanical keys are fantastic, incredibly tough. If you intend to obtain this keyboard for gaming purposes, take a quite hard look at it. The caps lock key has no indent and tends to interfere with your finger on the A essential. If you use WASD, shift, Ctrl, alt, generally, this keyboard will screw with your muscle memory if you've developed it on more normal keyboards. This keyboard is built like a tank. Solid is the very best operative word to describe it. At a guess, I'd say it weighs 1.5 pounds. I don't get the feeling that it's just weight for the sake of weight either, it's got an amazingly well-built feel all round. The mechanical essential style is great. Each important is a switch, rather of the entire keyboard getting one particular keypad, a lot like a cell-telephone keypad, which is the case with most keyboards today (generally referred to as a membrane). The travel distance and the force needed to press all of the keys is spot on with what I wanted. All of that stated, this is a perfect keyboard for me, but it's not best for every person. It can be fairly loud so if you'll be typing a lot around other people today (say, in a dorm space, etc..), then I can't advise it. For me the noise is reassuring, reminds me of the old school keyboards I discovered to variety on and I don't mind people on Ventrillo hearing me mash my keys whilst playing WoW, so this is not a con to me, but others could see it as one particular, so I mention it. As was mentioned by someone else, this is the model with no back-lighting. It nonetheless has the backlight button, which just changes the brightness of the Razer logo. Kinda odd, but I suppose just a cost-saving measure by Razer. I had a Razer Lycosa before this, I was frankly tired of the keyboard being so vibrant so I saved the dollars and went with the regular BlackWidow, not the ultimate. If you do need to have the USB ports on the Ultimate, I'd say just get a ŭ USB Hub rather.
