It works, but I had a small problem with ghosting. It was very noticeable in pc mode and not so much on tv mode. Other than that features are great and you cant beat the price. I dont know if it was just this one item i received but I didnt want to find out again so I purchased a different brand and returned this item.

Connected to an unused Dell monitor and it fired right up. Nice picture; included speaker is weak, but wasn't going to use it anyhow. Probably going to get a few more.

I find this product well developed. For one, it allows me to test computer monitors without having to hook up an actual PC. It is also a great way to have a TV tuner for just a stand alone monitor. The internal speaker is not the greatest but that doesn't bother me because I've connected the unit to my home theatre sound system and works superior. May be purchasing a couple more of these units in the near future.

My only reasons for not giving 5 stars is that it will not go to the full 1920x1080 (full HD) resolution of my monitor, the audio line-in to the box from my laptop's speaker-out does not appear to be working no matter what setting I have tried, I can't get sound back out. I was also hoping to use this as a multi monitor setup with extended desktop, however my laptop will not recognize the LCD, going through the box, for this functionality. I believe this is because the VGA-in is actually converted to an S-Video type port and my laptop doesn't like it.

Wanted to put an unused LCD monitor in my home gym and use it as a TV. Purchased this box to be the TV tuner. Works great. Nothing fancy but it does the job well. Picture is not high resolution but I really wasn't expecting it to be. Internal speaker is weak, but simply hooked up an inexpensive 2.1 PC speaker set I already had. Sounds great now. Remote works well. This setup is all I really needed. A budget alternative to a $500 flat screen TV. I would recommend the unit if you are OK with a standard-definition picture.

Ordered on price, surprised at quality of image. I now have a TV in my office for less than $50! Even hooked up an old DVD player, works well.

I wanted a tuner just so I could watch TV in my office on an old flat screen computer monitor that I was throwing out. I did not want to spend a couple of hundred for a small TV and I wanted a quick easy setup. For the price, it was everything I expected and wanted. Good product!

HD tuner died in LCD TV so decided to get an ''external'' unit. The tuner box here works well (function and features) but don't be fooled by it's ''high resolution'' description! THIS IS NOT AN HD TUNER! ATSC tuner is required for HD signal and this puppy is a NTSC (analog). Tuner in my old VCR is better. We're gonna' use it to get TV on or computer but an HD tuner, it is not. Thank God I only paid 40 bucks for it!

It works as advertised, and the video quality from the analog inputs is surprisingly good. There is very little combing and it does a very good job of converting S-Video and composite to VGA. Even the analog tuner video quality is surprisingly good. That said, the arrangement of the connectors leaves a lot to be desired. The S-Video connector is so deeply buried in the case of the device that you may have to cut some plastic off the cable connector so it fits the connector. Navigating the menus on the device is a little strange, and the choice of remote control functions is odd (there is a screen resolution change button, but no button for switching between 4:3 and 16:9)

It works fine for my old Sony TV as an external tuner. Replacement of SONY internal tuner costs more than this tuner box. It is good product for the price.

THIS PRODUCT WORKS AS ADVERTISED. Stop giving false reviews and stop CRYING about this product being analog!!! You should have gotten one of those FREE DTV BOXES by now if you ever needed one, government were handing out them for FREE!!! Also it was never supposed to have speaker, it is just an added feature for STAND ALONE TV TUNER. I connected using these scheme: DTV box(via s-video) to TV Tuner Box(via VGA) to LCD Monitor(1680-1050,60Hz). For Audio I bought Dual RCA to 3.5mm Stereo Male Cable which goes from DTV Box to TV tuner box. And YES you should consider external speakers

I was wanting this product to allow me to use my LCD monitor. It works well. Hook-up was easy, even with the older cable type that I had. For $50 (including tax and shipping) you can't beat this.

got this to attach to cable in my son's dorm. easy to set up. attached to HP flat screen monitor. based on other reviews, attached altec lansing PC speakers. slight pause between channels when using remote. great picture (although dependent on cable signal for each channel)

This tuner does the job, but you'll need speakers if you plan to use it on a stand alone monitor. The poor quality of the tiny speaker in the unit forced me to purchase a 2.1 system, and now all is well.

anolog signal only. there isn't any anolog signals broadcasted anymore only digital. so why even sale this junk. so it will not turn your computer screen into a tv don't buy it.

I'm not unhappy with this product. It is not a bad way to use an unused monitor to watch tv. It works on my Comcast cable input. The sound output isn't good enough for long term use, you'll want an external speaker. It would be nice if they supplied the digital code for the remote so I could use my Cable remote to turn it on and off and adjust the sound. I can't get it to work that way, even trying the search feature on my Comcast remote.

The write-up lead me to believe I could watch computer video on my TV. This device does everything but that. Instead of returning it, I'm going to reverse engineer it and see if I can make it work for a PC-to-TV application.

Needed to replace a TV given to my son and his new wife, Wanted to save money, found this product and it preforms beyond expectation. Very easy to setup and once you get setup, you only have to use it's remote to turn it on and off. I still use my cable remote for channel selection.

Works as expected. No it doesn't do digital but unless your a complete idiot then I didn't tell you anything you didn't already know. Does not interact with your computer in anyway, which is great for me, but may not be what most are looking for. The remote sucks and the audio output leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that it is good.

As usual, I am very happy with this reetailer and their products. I bought this to replace an old unit that finally gave up the ghost. I plugged it in and was back on in minutes. The set up was fast and easy. The picture is excellent and i look forward to many more years of use.
