I was skeptical for under $10, but what a great solution to revive old hardware.

performs wonderfully for use on a working pull from a dead laptop. i installed the drive, retrieved the data then re-formatted the drive and now i have a low cost external storage device.

Threw in an old laptop hdd and it took right off. Using it as a backup device. Nothing could be simpler.

Once there was an older laptop that was used as the general computer. Then the formerly stalwart lappy decided to crap out. Then the superhero hard drive enclosure arrived from here(15 bucks shipped rather than $40 from a box store)! With a screwdriver's nimble twist, the new gen-use desktop had all of the lappy's files and a relatively fast external hard drive in a sleek plug-n-play silver box.

I use this hard drive enclosure to test and fix other hard drives, format them, etc. It is easy to use and I have had no problems as of yet with the unit. A great deal for a simple enclosure.

Well the product shipped quick, arrived safe, looks great but..... my son didn't realize it was for a laptop lol

I thought it was working great, but one morning I woke up and my child was gone. There was only a bloody trail leading from the childs crib to the bookshelf on which I keep the unit. It appeared to be a lot larger than it was the night before. Oh! Woe is me!

Puchased this enclosure to recover data from a dead laptop; it worked perfectly. Now I have my data back AND a handy external drive.

I was given a dead laptop which turned out to be not worth salvaging except for the RAM boards and the drive. Not much to say about this drive enclosure, drive went in easily, worked perfectly, didn't need both USB plugs for a 60GB drive, price was certainly right.

I dont know if it is a bad unit or bad drive, I dont have any other drives to test it on and shipping would be more than it is worth to send it back, I will just keep it and use as parts or try again if I run across another drive, I gave it the benefit of doubt and rated 4 stars looks decent over all for the price.

Didn't know what to expect since the reviews were mixed, but it works as it should. Installs, ejects, reads, no problems! Would buy again and cant beat the price.

Ordered, recd, works well, good product POOR PACAKING..item in original box, not taped closed, laying in bottom of box with some loose paper on top, rattling around when UPS handed it to me, NOT WHAT I EXPECT!!!!!

I fried the motherboard of my laptop and got another laptop but all my photos and stuff were on the first hard drive. Not anymore. This worked perfectly. Cheap and functional. Can't beat it.

I replaced my laptop drive with a large capacity. What to do with the old drive? Drop it into a cheap enclosure and use it as a backup up or MP3 or Video or USB boot drive. Better than tossing out a functional drive.

The only thing I would say is include at least one jumper in the box. The drive must be jumped to master. Most are cable select out of the laptop. So if you buy this, make sure you pick up a package of jumpers if you want to be sure it works right away.

The device works well. It has some issues when performing the safe to remove devices thing (you have to usually perform this task twice) note that this could be due to the hard drive/hardware I'm using. I use it with mojopac and it works wonderfully. Some people said that theres just never worked. I'm thinking this may be due to the hard drive shorting on the enclosure, to prevent this i slipped in a piece of plastic between the PCB of the Hdd and the enclosure.

I'm using the enclosure to house an old laptop hard drive. It's a great alternative to have a portable storage.

this is the first 2.5 ext hd case i ever bought and it stands up to the best dont get me wrong i have a laptop and it dont work with it but the laptop is old but it works with my tower so its good enough for me i like it and will tell my friends about it
