Bought four of these disks:- All spun and and reported no errors or poor sectors.- Hooked up effortlessly in a RAID 10 configuration (controlled by P67 Sabertooth MB)- Could not beat the price for efficiency as described from the hard drive benchmark test website.- Seriously men and women- four 1TB drives for 55 bucks and no cost shipping! - Didn't have SATA cables integrated. It did say that they had been bare drives, but for some stupid cause, I believed they may possibly contain the cables....No biggee Hooked these into the four 3GB P67 Intel SATA slots, configured them via the BIOS and WHoaLA. Instant RAID. Now if I can just learn out how to appropriately test them

Every thing. Price tag, efficiency, capacity, warranty, speed - anything. None. This is the 14th drive of this exact model I have applied. I use them in client builds, in NAS units beneath RAID, in external enclosures and in upgrading my own systems. So far, my initially 5 drives have been running 24ǝ in RAID five in a Synology NAS unit for nearly a year. Constant use streaming and heavy read/write cycles. No failures, no Smart warnings, no thermal flares. Under load, these barely reach 102F in a tight NAS enclosure, and in a situation with excellent ventilation, they won't even make 3 digits under optimum load. Cooler and quieter than a Seagate, and Almost a match for a WD Black drive in performance. These drives have proven to jack of all trades and master of most trades. I have not but received a dead one particular, and the only ones that have failed have been from buyers who didn't use UPS or surge and caught lightening hits. Effectively, there was the one that the buyer attempted to 'fix' by opening the casing with a pair of pliars...

This Difficult drive benches extremely rapidly and gives a WEI score of 5.9 ! Seems a tiny noisy even though crunching away, but not like a negative drive or something. Great drive with very good specs for a great value !

Initially one went belly-up, and then a second drive just before I even could get the 1st boxed up to ship. Drives had largely favorable critiques, frankly I am shocked this happened with drives from a nicely-identified firm. I undoubtedly fully grasp nothing at all's ideal, but 50% failure rate? I hope the remaining two drives don't immenently fail too. I trust Newegg will make it proper, they have generally taken care of me just before.

Anticipate buying Samsung drives exclusively (unless equivalent WD drives adjust their rates accordingly). Under no circumstances had problems with WD warranty/returns, but haven't had to return a Samsung (yet); other users have differing opinions on Samsung returns/poor customer service. Troubling that other users report Samsung reps are somewhat clueless. Appear forward to price tag drops at Thanksgiving.

We've purchased 6 of these for a server more than a year ago. So far, two have had Smart errors, but they have been so far apart that we hardly noticed. Samsung's RMA service is incredibly hassle-free and easy. They take the problematic drive and ship you a operating a single. We have 3 "RAID 1" setups, so when one fails, the data is intact. These drives are genuinely cheap, so we can get more. We're about to get two more of these. They're also a lot more dependable than other brands have been. The two that failed had been actually my fault - The front fans in my Antec twelve hundred situation have been clogged with dust, and I'm guessing that the tough drives that failed were just overheated. Still, they have a greater track record than Seagate or WD so far (where 50% have failed in 12 months) Don't let my story scare you - these are incredible challenging drives, and even with the continuous 24hour pressure of a tiny corporation server, they've held up well. We genuinely wouldn't trust any other brand to do the job. All you need is redundancy and these drives will server you well.
