Low cost, rapidly, 1TB drives I purchased two of these, and both began generating a low-frequency pulsing noise following about 2 weeks of use. All the Wise data comes back clean, but I opted to return them for a refund from newegg although the 30-day return window was nonetheless open rather than have to deal with samsung on warranty troubles later. The Samsung help site has a properly-deserved reputation for becoming AWFUL. At the moment, they list the F3 series, but don't list any drives in it, so it's quite challenging to get help resources for this drive. I opted to return each drives to newegg for a refund, and get Western Digital drives, since I'm a lot happier with their warranty assistance and reliability.

Quiet, cost, and good transfer speeds None So far Samsung guidelines in my opinion. No other drive I've owned offers this efficiency and runs this cool.

My last OEM difficult drive from Newegg was thrown into the bottom of the box, with no padding beneath it; some paper was tossed on best of the drive as an afterthought; the box was virtually empty. These boxes get thrown across the space in UPS shipping centers. This is NOT THE WAY TO SHIP Hard DRIVES! Drives have to be in an anti-static bag prior to carrying out your bubble-wrap factor. I've had other drives packed properly, but suspect that undesirable packing of these drives is why they get RMA'd. Please Newegg ; train your folks how to pack tough drives correctly; you won't have as a lot of defective/returns, and will receive far less complaints re the packing monkey syndrome (this is my only user rant on poor shipping/packing; I've expressed my packing concerns privately to Newegg management, but the dilemma has not been fixed; sufficient already. Have changed my thoughts re the good quality of Samsung vs WD; have been a fan of WD for over 20 years, sadly, since WD aren't produced in Rd China. So far, our Samsung drives are 100% with no failures to date, run cool and quiet in USB dock, compared to noisy, hot, vibration-prone Seagate, (also built in Rd China, hmm). Have current builds with Samsung, WD (Black & Blue); all run well, but WD often run louder & hotter than Samsung. NO much more Seagate drives for me. Ordered a 2T Samsung for extended-term program backup & archival based on my experience and Newegg user feedback. Anticipate purchasing Samsung drives exclusively (unless related WD drives adjust their prices accordingly). By no means had problems with WD warranty/returns, but haven't had to return a Samsung (yet); other customers have differing opinions on Samsung returns/poor client service. Troubling that other users report Samsung reps are somewhat clueless. Appear forward to cost drops at Thanksgiving.

I appreciate the Samsung F3. I've applied properly more than 100 of these drives devoid of a single glitch or failure. Rapid, fairly quiet, inexpensive and reliable. What else can you ask for? None. I haven't utilized these in RAID, although a handful of of my clients have and reported fantastic results.

Fast and trustworthy. Cheap and durable. General just a wonderful buy. And definitely one of the ideal bang for your buck when it comes to HDD's It is a excellent drive, but I knocked off an egg due to the fact it tends to freeze up my whole program when installing or burning films. I have no thought why it does this... I had a 80 GB 5400 RPM seagate drive. It was terrible in my eyes, but it never froze up when installing or burning movies. It can freeze up to a full minute depending on what it's doing. The drive it seriously great though, it could be a DOE drive for all I know but it has been very trustworthy for the last 5 months and hasn't had any troubles besides the lag spikes. It was a Massive upgrade from 80 GB's to 1T even though!

Great performance. Solid reputation.Great deal, buy this drive, it is a bargain. No SATA cable, but it is clear they do not come with a single, so I can't whine about it. Just be sure to order one particular. The OKGEAR six GBs of whatever length you want is my recommendation. I had been waiting for a smoking deal on a SATA 3GBs 32MB cache, and this is it. I had been seeking for MONTHS, and this small beauty came along at an great price. Thank you New Egg, you have consistently helped me to make awesome computer systems for much less $$$ than I could have working with any other supplier. New Egg guidelines, I have been buying from them for years. I nonetheless check costs all about, and no one can beat them more than all. Do your investigation, be patient(wait for sales/promotions) and you will always get high good quality items for considerably much less at New Egg.

Replaced my WD3000HFLS Velociraptor with this drive. Right after two RMAs and having my present Velociraptor start up with clicking noises (after 1.five yrs of successful use) I decided to venture to other brands. So far I'm incredibly pleased. Absolutely nothing. If I had to get picky I'd say that it's not as fast as my WD 10k drive but this expenses 1ǚ of the priced I paid for the Velociraptor & it has 3x much more space. Also I have not had a noticeable distinction as far as the speed of the Velociraptor compared to this drive. Appears just as quick. I did a fair amount of analysis b4 acquiring this drive to replace my present OS drive. WD Velociraptor may be more rapidly, but hardly by substantially, and I've gone via 2 currently with the 3rd prob dying out in a month or so. It's not worth it to invest so much for slightly increased efficiency when it's not dependable.

I purchased two of these and planned on running 1 with Win7 and the other with Hackintosh'd OSX. They're low-cost and everyone has fantastic factors to say about them. I consider I got 2 negative drives. Installed Win7 on a single of them and it was stuttering/freezing. Opening straightforward programs took forever. The worst element is that it's loud! The HDD sounded like it was consistently "seeking," even at idle. Sounded like my old school Pentium II pc when you'd click on something and it had to take time to load. Even my WD Caviar Blue ATA룄 was quieter and faster! So I took that challenging drive out and installed Win7 on my other copy. Exact same factor! Took that one particular out, went to Fry'z and purchased a (despite the reputation) Seagate Barracuda 1TB Sata3, installed Win7 and anything was smooth and quickly, as it really should be. Incredibly good drive! Quiet, trustworthy, and very quick. If you aren't ready to make the leap to the SSDs, raid two of these up for some wonderful efficiency.Alternatively, use this with your SSD for your storage drive. As I said, really fast and trustworthy. None to date! I purchased this OEM and I wanted to say that mine included four screws to mount the drive, in case any person was wondering. No information cable.

Fastest harddrive I have owned. Certainly an upgrade from whatever ancient dinosaur IDE drive I was employing ahead of. Plus, it's big, and I got a good deal. cheapest trustworthy-searching 1TB on newegg when I bought it. I can certainly hear it when it gets going. Loudest factor in my personal computer on a common basis, not counting when I have a thing operating my video card (like a game) or burning a disc in my optical drive. Not operating RAID or anything, don't do benchmarks. Its satisfactory for me.

But I believe they're not making them like they use to OR UPS is hard as hell on um..Just about every 1TB. challenging drive that I've bought has gone poor ..All five of them.& don't think the WD black is any greater, When it went out I didn't even get a warning All I got was wise has failed. I tried to figure out what was the greatest for my program So I got a Seagate, W.D. Black, Samsung, & 2 Hitachi & one more W. D. Black for my operating system but got a 640 GB thinking it would be far more dependable. OK so I was wrong I give it yet another month at the most. And no I don't have nothing backed up trigger I can't keep 1 running lengthy adequate, They was my backups....It's a miracle I've been able to stomach my loss result in It would take me a year to get just my loss back....now I'm beginning to fill ill.....
