I bought this printer for someone who needed a new multifunction printer. I tested it before giving him and I was surprise: it is quite fast and scanning quality is great. My only minor complain is that, like any printer, it doesn't include an USB cable.

For the price, one of the best multi function laser systems out there. It prints quickly, the toner is much more cost effective vs inkjet, the quality is good, it's not of couse suitable for pictures, and no color, but other than that, a great system for what it's meant for.

I am pleased with the value of this printer for a small office. I can do manythings fairly well, and suffice foe an office that cannot afford to spend alot of money on hardware to start out with. Samsung makes pretty good laser printers.

Overall I was not disappointed with this printer. It's a simple laser printer that delivers good performance in a small footprint. The printer itself is quite fast once the machine warms up. The time it takes to print the first page including warm-up time is 35 seconds. Once the machine is warmed up, subsequent pages take 10 seconds each if printed solo, or 5 seconds each if printed in a batch. Time is from pressing print until the page is in your hand. The 'copier' function works just as fast as the printer does, which was a pleasant surprize. The copy process is 'one-button', just like a copy machine. Open lid, drop in original, and press start. They smartly use the initial few seconds of 'power-up' time to scan the page, so by the time the machine has used that few seconds to power up the laser assembly, the scan process is complete and the page is being printed. So as long as the machine is not in 'power-save' mode, a copy will only take 10 seconds from the time you press start until the copy is in your hand - the same amount of time it takes to print a single page.The printer has a 'power save' mode, which will essentially power down all but the display. The machine does not need to be turned back on once in power save mode, it will turn on automatically once a job is started. However, warm up time is about 30 seconds, so that is something to consider when adjusting the setting. You can adjust the power-save mode, and settings include 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 60 minutes. You can also disable this mode entirely should you so desire.Overall most people will consider a model like this when they don't want the cost of colour laser. Replacement toner cartridges aren't cheap, but they aren't at the high end of the price scale either. Prices can't be posted in reviews, but do a search for the toner if replacement toner cost is a key issue for you. Replacement toner cartridges are advertised to do 3000 pages u 5 coverage. That level of performance gives you an average cost of about 3.3 cents per page. As with every printer sold, the cartridge included with the unit is not shipped full, and this unit is no different. The manual states the included cartridge should deliver 1000 pages, but your mileage will vary depending on the type of pages you print. You should be able to get much more out of it if you do lots of text printing, with little graphics.Manual feed is available on the front of the unit should you wish to print envelopes or oversize paper. Envelopes are painless - just set the paper size gliders, slide the envelope in until it 'grabs' it, and then start your job.Printed output quality was quite acceptable, although with a resolution of 600dpi you should not expect this printer to be winning awards for high-resolution graphic images. Basically, if the quality of a photocopier is acceptable, then this printer should be acceptable too

A bought this machine for scanning documents. The next cheapest scanner with document tray is $40 more expensive than this one, so the purchase make sense. I really like this machine, it prints well and scans fast, a lot faster when compare to the HP scanjet I have at work. The only weakness is the software, it can't scan directly to a pdf file. The package came with a batch converter for pdf but it's not convinient. I spent a few hours, found a free software and the problem is solved.
