SanDisk 4.0GB Compact Flash Card

fantastic size/price/speed elements As well Slow for use as a Solid State drive Bought Addonic (Silicon Image) two.5" IDE adapter for CF. Installed 2 16 GB CF in an old 2 GHz P4 portable as the disk drive. CF supports UDMA4 and boots fine. It seems the thruput is just too slow to use the CF as a difficult drive. Extended periods with the HD light on and nothing at all happening with the portable. May possibly try the PCI controller and RAID0 them to see if I can get greater efficiency. Transcend makes only the 8 GB x266 speed CF - no 16 GB. eight GB is too small for a Windows portable

Really economical. Higher capacity. Very quickly random access. Random write time is almost unusably slow. I am making use of two of these cards as an improvised SSD for my laptop. Loading applications onto the machine requires orders of magnitude a lot more time than a hard disk. Otherwise, the SSD is a enormous improvement; boots extremely swiftly, machine is silent, longer battery life, a lot more responsive. It would most likely have been much better to wait until goal-constructed solid state drives with a lot more acceptable characteristics develop into available in my cost variety.

Performs all the time in my Canon 40D. Under no circumstances had any problems at all. I have never had a memory card "break" and don't genuinely fully grasp why it would if you take care of it. I only take about two,000 images a year, so possibly I require to be more really hard core about my photography and then stuff will break.

Good price. Much more than adequate speed and an extraordinary quantity of space to add to my pda! 16gb on my Dell Axim 50v (wm6). Paired this up with a 16gb sdhc card for a total of 32gb of storage. None. Finest value I identified on a item of this capacity and speed anyplace. It will take a tiny while to fill this up, even when utilizing it as my main card for mp3s on the pda.

Big capacity! None Operates good in a Canon 40D. I notice a bit additional lag reviewing pictures (with the scroll wheel) than with a SanDisk Extreme IV, but the difference is barely noticeable. I get around 103 Large JPEGs before the buffer runs out, which is a lot for me!

UDMA support, affordable None for this price variety Works fantastic for the 7D video. In JPG mode it can take non-cease 8fps bursts of 18MP jpegs. It can deal with the Canon EOS 7D's 1080p video no problem.

SanDisk 4.0GB Compact Flash Card
Comment:
I have been working with many of these cards for more than a year in each a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 1D Mark IV and they function good. It keeps up with my Mark IV that shoots at 10 frames a second for up to 25 pics in a row so any individual that says this card slows down their nevertheless camera would be stretching the truth. I also use it in a Sony Z5U video camera and it is a lot quick for video as properly. I have never ever had a dropped frame. I have never ever had a challenge with these cards, they are rock strong. There is no cause to get anything much more high-priced unless you are working with the card just to move data in between your PCs and you can't wait a few additional seconds. Transcend Rocks! It will not get me a beer. Lifetime Warranty, quick enough, it's orange so what is not to like.

SanDisk 4.0GB Compact Flash Card
Comment:
Massive capacity for a low cost. Excellent overall performance. None that I can believe of, at the moment. I initially applied this card in a Canon EOS 40D, which can shoot 6.five frames per second (fps) of 12.8MB files/shot...with no troubles. I have due to the fact utilized it with my Canon 5D and, most impressively, with my Canon 1D Mark III. The Mark III shoots 10 fps, continuously. I can shoot 30 frames in three seconds and the Transcend keeps up with the action. Previously, I often utilised the Sandisk Intense III CF cards, but the Transcend expenses 1Ǚ as substantially income. Hmmmmmmm. While I have no complaints about the Sandisk, I also have no complaints about the Transcend (which expenses way significantly less money). Which would you continue to acquire?

Was fast sufficient to hold up with continous shooting on a 10mp at about 3 per sec.. jpeg. Did not die on me and make me loose any images slowed down within the 1st year, believed the camera was getting troubles, and got the busy signal frequently, bought new camera that the specs say can shoot 60 on a normal CF, but when this card is in it can only shoot 15, my Cost-free card that the camera came with can shoot more than 200 jpegs continuous, so this card is failing in beneath a year, shame when I purchased it, it claimed to have a lifetime warranty, so my hopes are they will replace it. as usually, newegg is amazing

Big, fairly low-cost. Functions fine in my Nikon D300.Holds 593 14bit uncompressed NEGF's (the largest for this camera) or quite a few more smaller sized files. Used for about 1200 shots of diverse sorts so far.No issues writing/reading/downloading. Not the quickest card but I seldom hit the buffer limit unless I attempt to.Downloads from camera pretty briskly for the size, card reader is a bit slower for unknown reason. none Great deal so far.

SanDisk 4.0GB Compact Flash Card
Comment:
16 GB, low cost, operates. None so far. I wasn't confident if this card would perform effectively in my 7D because there had been so a lot of unfavorable testimonials. But I figured the 7D has dual digic 4 processors and a enormous buffer so I'm positive it can manage even a slow card. Guess what I was proper, I shoot sports photography for a living and even shooting events each day and at eight fps I still have not had to wait once for the photographs to load into the card. If you own a 7D acquire this card with self-confidence.
