Unholy Cooling, Batman!
Cons: Big - like *real* big. Tall, too. If you are working with anything less than an ATX mid-tower, you better measure CAREFULLY. The angle can play havoc, too.
Pros: Heat sucker extraordinaire, this bad boy will kick the (thermal) posterior of an AMD Phenom II 955 BE chip like it wasn't even turned on. It's big, fits a lot of socket types, works efficiently and surprisingly quietly too. Comment:
Paired this thing to a Phen II 955 BE chip in a new build. Stuffed it into a Rosewill Challenger case. The top of the pipes are less than 15mm from the case cover. I had originally planned to have a 120mm fan pushing air from outside the case right into the heatsink, but the factory heatsink didn't impress me. So, I got this bad boy. Due to the tolerances, I couldn't put a 120mm fan pushing air down it's throat, but reversing the rear 1200 pushes air to the heatsink fan and over the MOSFET cooler - two for the price of one and the angled block came in real handy, too!The Phen II 955 is not the coolest-running chip out there, but with this thing, you'd never know it! After applying it with Arctic Silver 5, I bedded the system in and ran Prime95 for 20 hours straight, with TrueTemp logging all the sensor feeds from the mobo. The CPU couldn't break 40C - UNDER FULL STRESS TESTING LOAD! The hottest it got was 38C - and that was with two fans disabled for testing! |

Scythe Katana 3 CPU Cooler Heatpipe Heatsink LGA775 1366 AM2 S478 S754 S939 S940 92MM PWM Fan
Cons: Not as big as i was hoping for. I think they should have a ruler in the pic's to give people a better idea of the sizes. (:
Pros: Easy install on my am2/am2+ board, It seems to keep my phonom2 3.0 ghz processor below 48 C. Quiet, cant hear it running at all Comment:
I went from a amd dual core with a scythe ninja mini cpu cooler to a phenom2 quad with this cooler. The ninja mini was a much larger cooler, I was a little disappointed with the size, but it works great. |

Scythe Katana 3 CPU Cooler Heatpipe Heatsink LGA775 1366 AM2 S478 S754 S939 S940 92MM PWM Fan
Cons: None so far
Pros: Low cost, very nice copper heat pipes, nice sized fan without causing space issues, quiet, and works very well. Comment:
This is a very nice cooling solution, for a great price. It is currently running on my Phenom II x4 965 BE, OC'd to 3.9ghz. Not only is it entirely silent to me (If it's making noise, I can't hear it over the fan on my 5870) but it is keeping the CPU cores running at about 35 C. I have yet to graph my CPU temps over 45 C under load. This is worth every penny, and then some. |

at first i was like WHOA then i was like WHOA
Cons: the setup for anything other than an AM socket chip looks a little scary
Pros: great setup! quiet like death! simple simple simple! primates with down syndrome could put this thing together! Comment:
when i unpacked it and saw that the mounting brackets were comprised of 6 little clips and bars i thought to myself "should i just grab my ankles now?" - once it came to application of said brackets i realized it was all just a case of reasonable deduction and not jumping the gun on what has to be done for assembly. |

Spring Loaded Boobie Trap!
Cons: CAUTION! For AMD processor builds, the little dingus they have to attach said processor could fly apart while you are looking to see how it works, and hit you in the eye. I was wearing my glasses, so by all means please wear safety glasses if you are going to install this heat sink. Is all it took was one slightly wrong move on my part...just wanted to see how the levers reacted to a little pressure, and DOINK!!! The spring flew out of the clamp and bounced off my glass frames. Could have been really nasty had I not been protected. And it moved so fast it was impossible to hear where it might have landed. So after spending 20 minutes with a flashlight searching in a 10 foot radius, I decided to pilfer the spring out of an ink pen. Still, it was a sketchy operation to make sure the spring was going to stay in place. On further inspection of the clamp, it seems to me if a little more care had been taken in designing it, the spring wouldn't fly off. Just a slight bending of metal works.
Pros: Big, huge, cools the hell out of my 955 Black Edition over clocked to almost 4 Mghz. Functionality once it's in place is 5 stars. I have absolutely no issues with the heat sink itself. The 1 star is for the clamps, that might scratch someones retina. Comment:
Well if you make an affordable heat sink that allows you to over clock your company should ensure the users can actually put it on a processor without having this thing move at you so fast you can't see it. Looking at the way the spring was placed in the clamp, I could see that all they had to do at the factor was have part of the clamp spring holder bend 90 degrees. This would catch he spring along one of the wire coils and keep it from flying away. And also, since these springs are so important to the function of the way the clamp works for the AMD processors, they need a little bag with an extra 5 or 6 springs. Sucks having to pilfer an ink pen because these nimrods can't engineer a spring that will stay put. Also there should be a big neon sticker on the box that reads: WARNING! POSSIBLE SPRING LOADED TRAP LIKE EFFECTS WITH AMD CLAMP! But later I laughed and told my bud it was a -5 Cursed Clamp of Eye Poke. (have to be an RPG geek to think thats funny). |

Silent Cooling
Cons: Bulky, but I knew it was going to be and planned for it.
Pros: Keeps my AMD Phenom II x4 955 cool and doesn't make a noise. Comment:
Just mount this before installing the motherboard and save yourself some headache and enjoy. |

Way better than stock for cheap
Cons: A good bit bigger than you might think at first. Will require some room.
Pros: Way better than using the stock coolers your processor came with for not much money at all.Can OC your proc a good bit before it begins to feel the heat under load. Also, did not need a backplate installed which is a huge convenience. Comment:

very nice
Cons: rather large, the pictures didnt portray properly. there really needs to be some size specs. if they are there, i missed them
Pros: works very, very well. runs quiet Comment:
i was a moron and forgot to remove the plastic peel thingy on the contact surface, which made my computer overheat and shutdown multiple times. almost RMA'd the motherboard and processor i brought. took the enture computer apart to re-package everything, and found the sticker. stupid me |

cpu cooling on a budget
Cons: the packet the thermal paste came in oozed everywhere after it was opened. the size of the unit makes it sit over the first 2 sticks of ram
Pros: its cheaper than most heat pipes for a am3, it cools the cpu very wellsits right in front of the case's side intake fan Comment:

Amazing
Cons: Fan makes noise I guess...its not blue/orange/red and shiny...? None???
Pros: I was not sure about getting this at first because it was only a 92mm cooler but it turned out to be more than I could have asked for. For anyone who is worried about 120mm cooler not fitting in their case, this is for you. Furthermore the cooling results are more than you could ask for. Under stock cooler my Phenom II x2 550 at 3.7 was 55 under load 47 idle. After this cooler my load temp is 34 - 36 and my idle is 28-30 and this is at 3.7 1.38 volts. I was 100% shocked at the results and would absolutely recommend this product. To make matters better it's under $30. I plan on hitting 4Ghz with this, as Prime 95 cant make it break a sweat. Comment:
It really is hard to beat this for the price. Its price to performance is unreal. But beyond that, it's just an awesome cooler and I can't say enough about it. If your getting a 92mm cooler this is it. If you think you may have trouble with a 120mm cooler dont worry about it. Just get this bad boy. |

Huge Heat Sync
Cons: none
Pros: It does its job, but its HUGE. This will not work with most smaller cases. I didn't have to worry about that since i use a full tower case. Keeps the cpu under 45c while playing games and stuff. Might have something to do with the 120mm fans i have as well. Comment:
This thing is heavy, so im just a little worried about it messing up my board b/c of weight. Its not very heavy, but its probably double the weight of stock heat syncs. |

Great Heat Sink
Cons: The fan doesn't light up so you can't see it through the window in my case. If I really cared I would replace it ....but I don't....so I won't.
Pros: This thing is big and quiet. I haven't seen my processor temp get over 40c yet. Easy to install and I couldn't be happier. I think I am going to buy another one for my next build. Comment:

Scythe Katana 3 CPU Cooler Heatpipe Heatsink LGA775 1366 AM2 S478 S754 S939 S940 92MM PWM Fan
Cons:none that I have found
Pros:Very efficient at low fan speeds, works very well, easy install. Fits multiple cpus Comment:
Nice little cooler for the price, used it on a I5 750 build. keeps temps low at idle 30 degrees and gaming > 55 degrees. I can cut the fan speed down to whisper quite with asus Motherboard software and it still keeps cpu temps to under 60 degrees. I would definitely buy this product again. lots of brackets include for other cpu's. at full speed you can hear the fan, but it is not loud to me |

Great cooler for the price!!
Cons: None
Pros: Great cooler! With my stock cooling, load temps were around 50-53C and now with this cooler, they're right around 42-43C. For the price, this is a great cooler. The idle is a little bit cooler than stock, but I don't really care about the idle temps. Installation is a breeze and the cooler is very secure on the socket.*Both of the temperature ranges are on stock clocks and fan at 100% Comment:

Cons: I am not getting the cooling numbers I expected. No over clocking, yet idle is 34C with case fans on full with Artic Silver compound. Can't figure out hot to manually control fan speed, so its at full speed all the time.

Scythe Katana 3 CPU Cooler Heatpipe Heatsink LGA775 1366 AM2 S478 S754 S939 S940 92MM PWM Fan
Cons: None, really. Works great. See notes below.
Pros: Just received this cooler, and got it installed. It looks awesome, fits great in my case, and it cools my CPU wonderfully. My CPU is sitting at 35 degrees at idle, and so far only goes up 3-5 degrees under normal load.I used the thermal paste that came supplied.Using it on an AMD Phenom II X4 655 OC'd to 3.6Ghz. Comment:
The fan hangs over my 1st two RAM slots, but doesn't touch them or anything. It's not an issue for me as I don't plan on taking my RAM out, but it might be an issue for someone else. The latches for the AMD/AM3 socket were pretty easy to attach to the unit itself, but getting them actually latched down to the CPU took a bit of effort, which made me a little nervous. That said, everything installed just fine and I didn't end up having any problems. |

great with amd phenom II X3 720
Cons: when installing one of the springs popped off and i had to find 1 that fit. eventually found the original spring a couple hours later.

Great cooler
Cons: None.
Pros: Keeps my Phenom II x3 at 29~30c at idle, and 42~43c under full load with prime95 in a 5hr run. This blew me away considering the cpu is unlocked to a quad and overclocked to 3.01ghz. Comment:
Easy install, was a little hard to tighten down but very sturdy, will buy again. |

Quiet, Better than Stock
Cons: Not much improvement over a stock i7 cooler overall. Universal brackets don't easily adapt to LGA 1366 socket cooler mount holes, so it was a 45 minute battle to get this thing mounted properly. If you use lowest fan speed, idle core temps will be higher than stock cooler idle temps (53C vs. 45C)-- you can bump the fan to keep it about the same noise level while keeping the temp at the same as stock, though.
Pros: Much quieter than stock cooler at low fan speeds. Some cooling improvement over stock i7 cooler at max fan speed. Comment:
With CPU fan at max (Core i7 920 no-OC):Idle went from 45C with stock to 42CMax load went from 73C to 67C My wife got this for me as a Christmas present since it is a universal cooler, but it is not much better than the stock i7 cooler. Even though this is compatible with i7, I'd go with a beefier cooler that is better able to handle the heat that i7 LGA 1366 processors throw out if you really care about better performance (and if not, just stick with the stock cooler). My system:OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)ASRock X58 Extremei7 920BFG nVidia GTX 260 MaxCoreCorsair 750W PSCoolerMaster Storm Sniper CaseWin 7 x64 Pro |
