Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B 3 Heat Pipes CPU Cooler
Comment:
I just got the Shuriken this week and install it on my media Pc with a Rosewill slim case and AMD Phenom 9600. The fan does fit nicely in the case taking into consideration how a lot space I have to perform with. The Shuriken was really effortless to set up and it fits effectively. The fan is quiet and functions genuinely well, so here are the specs: - Stock Idle: ㅥC to ㅪC - Stock Load: ㅴC to ㅹC - Scythe Idle: ㅠC - Scythe Load: ㅯCI ran Prime95 employing "Blend" for around 1 hour and it maxed out at 55C.I also got the deal with the free 120mm Scythe S-Flex fan so it was a genuinely great deal. Also there was the totally free 3 days shipping. None so far... I am not confident how nicely it will fit the other low profile instances, but it fits my "Rosewill R379-M" nicely and is not in the way of any cables or other hardwares. I suggest making use of Artic Silver thermal paste rather of the stock thermal paste, or if you want to change your cooler later on, the CPU might get wedged (stuck) to the heatsink. At least that's what happened to me...

Very low profile, and Quite low noise! It cant cool my Phenom II X4. stock cooler keeps a low 57-58C, this cooler whilst quiet cant maintain my core below the 62 C limit AMD specs for if you have a mid power CPU it would work nicely, but I needed low profile for my HTPC, but this just can\'t keep the temperature down. therefore the 3 eggs

Fits! I have a Silverstone SG01. Wanted a better cooler due to the fact of airflow concerns in these circumstances, but incredibly limited possibilities. Over an inch of clearance amongst fan and PSU, and clears CD drives. Quiet! Couldn't hear that the fan had stopped working--required a lock-up and my method monitoring program to inform me. The fan stopped working right after only 9 months. I think due to the fact of dust, but not positive. I didn't consider it was that dirty, but I don't anticipate a lot from fans, so only two eggs down. These circumstances usually have undesirable airflow, but I've 'engineered' mine for very good airflow, but all the air comes in from a vent that is ideal next to the cpu. I had difficulty crafting an air filter for it, so I gave up on that. So possibly it did get alot dirtier than I thought. Only 1 other particular person has had the identical challenge, sooooo... I'm getting problems with temperature manage. Everybody else seems to idle at 36C or lower. I'm looking at 48C right now and this world wide web window is the only issue active. I normally see amongst 60 and 65C when taxed. I have an AMD Athalon X2 7750 NOT ovc'd. I thought these temps were not a enormous deal because I've in no way observed it above 65, but due to the fact everybody else has lower temps, I'll likely reinstall the thermal paste. Newegg was wonderful on the obtain as usual, and whatever I choose to do about the fan, I'm confident they will continue to be:)

Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B 3 Heat Pipes CPU Cooler
Cons:Temperatures can get quite high on higher TDP chips. 3-heatpipes only compared to some of the newer heatsinks.

Pros:Adequate cooling without being oversized. Fits in most cases without worry.
Comment:
The fan is a 100mm but you can replace it with a 92mm if it fails. The heatsink may be too large for some ITX boards where it would hit the RAM or the GPU.

Modest and quiet Won't appropriately cool an i7-870. Case is a Silverstone SG-07, with an i7-870. It idles at 37c, working with handbrake, I can effortlessly push it to 80c at 90% cpu load. Even moderate loads 15-20% will push it into the 50c range. Size is good, but it can't deal with the 95w Lynnfield i7-870.

- Fits in 'thin' instances;- Affordable price tag;- Quieter than stock CPU fan;- CPU operating at least ten degrees cooler than with stock Intel - There are less complicated fans to install for LGA775 From what I read my processor (pentium 4 two.8 Prescott) is reputed to run hot. To hold it below 60C the stock fan had to spin rapid sufficient to be annoyingly noisy: so I looked for an aftermarket cooler. As others said, you will probably need to take away the board from the case is you have a LGA775, specifically modest instances. But after installed, for me, the CPU temp dropped from 55ኝ to 40ኌ: and it is as quiet as they claim. Following installation, in an try to reduce noise even more I was attempting to reduce fan speed from the BIOS with no luck, just to realize a couple of minutes later that the noise in truth was coming from other fans in my situation but not the CPU fan, even if I place it to higher speed. So now with medium operating speed I have been in a position to minimize both the CPU temperature and the noise generated by the CPU fan. I applied Antec termal grease as an alternative of the grease they provide.

Originally I liked the design and style simply because it is low profile 1. This factor was a nightmare to install in my gigabyte H55N-USB3 mini-itx mobo. You will need to have lilliputian fingers with atlas strength and eye-robotic surgeon precision to install it; the cause is that the pipes and fan cover over the mounting pegs. grrrrrrrr! spent more than an hour before lastly... and then...2. It is just *barely* as well huge so it *just* interferes with the PCIe slot. ӭ mm.... *sighƧ. Also-- difficult to get my DDR3 mem in or out. 3. In common, I would not use this with mini-itx. I'm going to return a different I ordered for an additional mobo. I won't even try... :-< The profile is just too large. Time to appear for some other solution. four. I'll give it a two only to be good mainly because I haven't tested the overall performance however...

Keeps my server nice and cool. Will fit in smaller instances. Plenty of fit kits for various processors. Ran Prime95 for 24 hours and CPU temp by no means rose above 46 degrees. Also it's quite quiet, even at total speed; my optical disk drive is significantly substantially noisier if you require a comparison. 1)looks much better than stock intel cooler2)bigger fan than stock Although Scythe states this cooler will fit socket 478 cpu, it does not fit my ASUS P4C800 Deluxe Mobo due to heat pipes hitting a row of capacitors I gave 4 stars for Newegg's buyer service. I named and explained that this cooler didn't fit my Mobo and they credited my account for use towards another cooler. How can u get mad? This sort of service will keep me coming back, as nicely as recommending this website to others. A note about my program: Asus p4c800 Mobo with pentium 4 three. GHz cpu. If you have this mobo (or similar model with row of capacitors by cooler mount), this cooler will not fit (can't rotate cooler 90 degrees, can't rotate socket 478 cooler mount either).

helped breath new life into an old box with Phenom II X3 B73. Handles a modest 3.0ghz overclock while not going over 59 C. (This is impressive given the Aria Case this is in is notorious for horrid airflow). Not an overclocking monster, but it runs reasonably quiet, great for SFF components.

Quiet, cool, sexy. Sorta large. I have an AMD Socket 939 chip. Clamps tough to close on a ASUS M3A78-EM mainly because of close proximity to heatsink of onboard graphics chip. The clamps close horizontal, not pulling up vertical. When i closed it, it moved the hs slightly. Fan plug was tough to plug in-re-pluged it bc Pc wouldn't boot. Also, I have a Antec Mini P180 so it's cramped a hell. I installed with mobo nonetheless in case. Even if I installed this outside the situation the heatsink is in the way. I truly don't know how the guy below mentioned it was effortless on a ASUS M3A78-EM.

Quiet, cools extremely effectively bearing could commence to put on out right after 1 year I have two of these in two various computers now, they are fantastic fans and i have had no actual issues with it. The 1 that is a year old(not this new revision B) began making a it of noise for the 1st few seconds each time i turn the laptop or computer on, but then it goes back to getting quiet. No biggie. Wonderful bang for the buck, fits in most HTPC situations - it is pretty wide(compared to stock cooler), so make confident you have sufficient room to clear your optical drives and vid cards

Cons:None

Pros:Quiet, Low-profile, blows down, price
Comment:
I bought this for a HTPC since, given the layout of the computer, an upright heatsink (such as the Corsair A50) would not fit in the case. It keeps the OC'd processor cool and is surprisingly quiet even at full speed. I suppose if you needed more airflow you could add a louder or thicker fan (the included fan is thankfully also low-profile).
