I bought this due to the fact it fits in an Antec Take four 4U rackmount (quiet) case; great fan, and rather quiet for the size.Cools a Phenom II X4 with no troubles. Not as quiet as the definitely quiet huge ones; Scythe Ninja, and so on. Probably won't perform effectively with no a fan (a Ninja will, on a 45W TDP CPU).

It worked wonderful while it lasted Only lasted about eight months I've under no circumstances had a CPU fan go out on any of my personal stuff ahead of, kind of disappointing, I went for a brand I held in high regard so I wouldn't have to worry about this sort of thing.

1. Quieter than stock intel or amd coolers.2. Low height fits in low profile / 2U case (with reservations).three. four pin PWM fan compatible with all motherboards for CPU fan speed control.4. Effortless mounting for most sockets. 1. Efficiency not really as excellent as stock coolers, but close enough (within couple degrees C), when put in case with sufficient clearance above fan (or if you have vent in case above fan for low profile case).2. Performance not that great when in 2U case with no vent above, as fan is about 1 cm from cover. In this case, performed about 10 C worse than stock cooler in similar case at idle and load. In summary, I like this cooler in a case that has adequate clearance above, but challenging to recommend in a low profile 2U case, unless there is a vent above the CPU location. I think you are far better off with stock cooler in this case.

This thing is actual quiet, even running complete speed you can barely hear it, operating at standard speed I can not hear it at all. I had my doubts it could be this quiet, it's good for my HTPC in my living space It took all of 5 minutes to install on an AM2 board and that consists of opening and closing the case. It dropped the quad core processors down by additional than five degrees. I don't have any genuine cons. It was almost everything I was looking for. Lower temps, quiet fan. Little issue was the fan is bigger than the stock fan and hangs slightly more than my final memory slot. I had tall heat shields on the memory and they will not operate if I just switch them with the other memory. So I guess I'll sell the memory and buy new. No large deal I usually get nearly the identical cost on 'an auction web-site' as I can purchase it for on Newegg (go figure) Newegg as often Wonderful Prices, Quickly SHIPPING

Quiet, PWM 4 connector, low profile, numerous adapters, straightforward to reverse fan. This beat the stock AMD fan on my 955, I couldn't take the noise any additional. Not a con for me, but this is a really wide vs. tall cooler, so if you have some thing tall near the CPU it could potentially interfere. Just be conscious of the style. The stock configuration is to pull air down toward the CPU, two pieces of spring steel hold the fan down, just take away them very carefully and flip the fan over to reverse flow. Of course replace the two spring steel clips.

Small and productive. Nice build high quality as well. Pushpin wants to go. It was genuinely tough to use the pins with the size of the heatsink. And not truly a con, look other thoughts. Attempted to use this cooler on Gigabyte H55N-USB3 in Lian Li Pc-q11 case.I ran into a issue where the heatsink pins had been physically touching back of my video card which may possibly lead to a brief and fry my video card (and much more probably). As a temporary resolution, I inserted a paper in amongst though searching for another suitable heatsink.

Quieter than stock fan. Natively mounts to a socket AM2/AM2+/AM3 board. Incredibly short, so if you have a skinny case or a stupid vent cowl, you can nevertheless get a decent cooler. Doesn't light up in purple or have a neon orange heatsink. If you're in to that. It just looks like a boring bog-typical heatpiped CPU cooler - which suits my non-windowed case just fine. Keeps my aging Athlon 64 X2 6000+ about 34C though typing this (so mostly idle), in spite of the rest of the case becoming fairly hot. Quieted my machine down adequate so I could finally hear that a single of my "silent" case fans is far from silent. Due to that, I can't truly tell you how quiet this fan is.

Perfect for HTPC. It fits really well in the ML03B or any other case that has low profile expansion slots. My APU (A8-3870k) temp dropped by 15C which is really good for such a small rad.

Low enough for an ITX case but not too wide. Didn't block something on a Zotac G43itx -A-E. The push-pin pressure didn't lead to the board to bow. None Doesn't seem to be stellar but due to the fact I by no means installed the stock cooler I can't make a direct comparison. When stuck in a tight ITX case it holds an E3300 at bout 10 c above ambient ( about 35 C for me) and gets up to 70 C immediately after 1.five hrs of prime95 and holds there so I guess its safe. Hottest I've ever let a chip get but my very first itx build.

Nicely-built. Nonetheless, I was not able to use it mainly because it touches the back of the video card on the GA-H55N-USB3 mini-ITX board. See other thoughts. Each and every push pin slides around within its track on the mounting brackets to accommodate distinct CPUs. This is a bit harder to use than brackets with fixed places for the push pins. With the slider strategy, you have to align every single pin manually. With fixed locations on the other hand, the push pins are naturally aligned. Minus 1 egg of the slider design. I bought this reading two out three critiques indicating this fits the GA-H55N-USB3 with a video card. In my case, it completely does not fit. It touches the back of the video card (GIGABYTE GV-R455D3-512I). Even if I wanted to, I can't flex the video card adequate to get clearance.I tried both orientations of the heatsink. In 1 orientation, the ends of the heatpipes stick way out, so that seriously won't fit. Rotate it 90deg, and the side of the heatsinks rubs into solder points and surface mount components on the back video card. So, either the spacing on motherboard altered, or this heatsink's size varies. So, be cautious.I ended up making use of the stock heatsink the comes with the i7-870 CPU.My setup:Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H55N-USB3Video card: GIGABYTE GV-R455D3-512ICase: SilverStone SG06BB-450

Slim and super quiet. Wish it had greater rpms and pushed more air. (Not a con, just my "if I had a genie" wishes)Copper bottom would strengthen heat transfer. This was exactly what I required as my power provide is proper above the CPU socket of my ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO. Something else would not have fit. Using it to cool an oc'd X4 II 955 (@ 3.45Ghz). Keeping it at 39C idle, ឬC below Prime95 or 57C below Everest Ultimate. (Using Arctic Silver.)OC'd it to three.52Ghz, but it was obtaining above 60C and I didn't want to opportunity it. May look at doing the same as the beneath post and finding a various fan, but any taller fan for me, and it may not fit in my case.Super quiet although.

Functions when its new. Certainly no tolerance to dust/cat hair/etc.3 computers in this house: ş worked for five yrs straight till I had to clean cat hair off the cooler intake.Š has worked because create Ɠ+ yrs) with no cleaning.š had the stock cooler fall off the motherboard (I most likely bumped it whilst upgrading other parts), so I bought this as a replacement. In the space of 1-two months, the fan has stopped turning consistently. It can only reach 500RPM. Cleaning it has no recourse. I had to turn the automatic fan shutdown off, since the laptop would shut down many times a day.Now I've underclocked my two.6gHz machine to 2.1gHz just to get by till the a one arives. Of course there's no way to clean the bearing the fan spins on, mainly because it's stupidly housed in plastic.Back in the old days, all you had to do was peel back the sticker on a cooler fan, and there was the bearing, exposed for the world to see. You could lube it up and the fan would be like new. Naturally the makers here would rather cover it up and plastic and force us to purchase a new 1.Well it worked -- but I'm never going to buy the Scythe once more in my life.

Nicely built unit. Compact and quiet. Fairly inexpensive. A bit too significantly overhang on the cooling fins that could interfere with RAM slots next to the CPU. Not genuinely a CON, but the cooling capacity does not appear much superior than the Intel cooler that came with my i5 750. I only got about 3 degrees cooler with this unit. The Scythe, nonetheless, is QUIETER when it runs at faster speed. At initially I could not fit this on my DFI motherboard simply because it interfered with the RAM slots. I ended up placing it in a vice and very carefully pushing the cooling fin assembly more than by about 1ǘ cm. That was sufficient to clear the RAM and I got it installed. The fan is designed to blow down into the fins. This is widespread, but I identified that since this CPU fan is just beneath my power supply fan (which is blowing up), the two fans competed for air. The result was that the power supply got hot and its fan got noisy! I reversed the CPU fan and all became quiet once again. Cooling of the CPU did not appear to be affected substantially by this adjust.

I have this cooler installed on an MSI K9N6PGM2 mobo, with an AMD Sempron 140 CPU. Idle temps., with OEM cooler, were operating 79 degrees F - 83 degrees F. Not bad, thinking about the TDP of the CPU. I just wanted a thing greater, and I got it with this cooler. Idle temps. are as low as 69 degrees F and have peaked out at 82 degrees F running at 100 % load (momentarily) on CPU. As I write this evaluation, temps. are at 71 degrees- 73 degrees F. Great item for the price. NONE! Great style. AMD clips just "snap" into heatsink. It is a TOOL-Cost-free design. Bilinqual directions state that the heatsink can accomadate a 92 mm fan, which is excellent in case the stock fan goes poor. Overall, this is Nicely worth the $$$$$$$$$!!!!

Finest cooler I could have utilised for my case. Fit in an antec minuet 300 and you couldn't slide a dollar bill in between this factor and the power supply. I put this on the Intel Xeon E3110 and it pretty much never spins more than 800 rpms. Cpu stays at 22ቴc but it clocks the multi down to 6x when not being applied significantly. As soon as cpu clock kicks to three. the fan spins at 2000rpms and the CPU stays at 30c or so. Nonetheless pretty silent although. This fit my perfectly on my DFI LP JR GF9400-T2RS. Hate the clip install, that being mentioned the cooler is still amazing. Considering that the fan doesn't spin faster than 800rpms most of the time the board tends to overheat. Will be adding a fan to the MB since I want to keep this a low watt, silent create. May add this fan to a fan controler to preserve thios operating at 2000rpms anyway. I couldn't have picked a greater cooler for my case and silence is golden in this situation.

fan is very quiet and spins at a low speed. quite efficient for its size. fits quite a few sockets and changing adapters is somewhat simple. im not positive about the amount of force that is required to install the pins. it seems excessive. the edges are Extremely sharp. extremely tough to install in an antec minuet case. i would strongly suggest using diamond paste. i dont like the bending of the MB. may possibly even go back and pre-bend the bracket to get rid of some of the stress. the other factor im seeing is certain bios could have fan low speed warning due to quite low startup speed. around 450-500 rpms. to this day my all time preferred is Nonetheless the xp90 from thermalright. which newegg no longer sells. BUMMER.. the fan has But to speed up. immediately after 1.five years.

Fit ideal into my Silverstone GD SST-GD04B HTPC Case. I was thinking about the 120mm version of this heatshink, but Im glad i didnt. Fan produces high pitched sound at particular RPMs, exactly what you dont want in a cooler for an HTPC. I am currently searching for a replacement fan.Makes use of horrible push to lock connectors to MB for 775 socket. Would have preferred a different method.

Really low profile, could quite nicely for such a smaller setup, LIGHT. Can block your RAM dimms depending on your motherboard, doesn't cool as properly as a enormous cooler (but you shouldn't expect it to). I bought this cooler primarily mainly because my old zalman was too darn huge. It would get in the way a lot and I was nervous taking my pc anywhere. This small guy is light adequate that I can haul my tower to any LAN party with out fear of destroying it if I hit a pothole in transit.I haven't pressure tested my processor with this on it, but under the highest prolonged loads I've noticed on my phenom II 945 I've by no means observed heat go above 43c. Defiantly an improvement more than stock cooling, but overclockers will want to go with a larger cooler.

Will fit on a Gigabyte H55N USB3 itx motherboard with any full size GPU with a razor thin gap between the heat sink and the back of the gpu, just fits perfectly.

Good low profile for HTPC case, really quiet. Doesn't keep processor temps below about 45c... way too high, so the fan is constantly operating full blast.
