Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1.5TB 2.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
Stylish. Feels solid. Little. Significant capacity and bus powered. Interchangeable interface. Fast for a 5400rpm drive when connected to a USB three. port. Purchased it on sale Slower than regular when connected to a USB two. port with the included usb 3. adaptor. Drive typically timed out or dropped connection when transferring files bigger than 2GB. Could not full drive diagnostics because it kept timing out. Seagate tech help is beneath average. Drive is NOT mac compatible. All portable drives must come with a carrying case... glossy surface scuffs quickly. Brief cable... yes i went there. Purchased this drive to do video editing and 3D. Drive is practically usleless when connected to a usb two. port with the included three. interface. Had to get a usb two. interface adapter to in fact make it functional in between a number of machines. Bought a usb three. card for my residence workstation to take advantage of its complete prospective. They really should bundle this drive with both usb 3. and 2. interface adapters. Income i spent on usb two. interface adapter, usb 3. pci Express card, longer usb 3. cable, and carrying case offsets low cost. Works excellent if you have a usb three. port. Keep away from if you dont.

Thin, light, quiet, single cord (USB power), rapidly, huge data space, looks really sleek and "space aged". Fits in Secure Deposit Box (see other thoughts) Only comes with USB 3. ƒ. Compatible) calbe. I would rather have eSata as it is a lot more reliable and lengthy term quicker. One drive is great, but you can't alternate in between two "full backup drives". The Computer software does a single complete backup when you first connect (which took a extended time, but wasn't unexpected). Afterwhich, it will only do Incremental backups. Which means only files that have changed. Not that massive of a deal....unless you want to do a different complete backup to a second drive. At which point you can't. The software program either isn't wise adequate or TOO user friendly (don't want to say dumbed down, but esentailly...dumbed down) to enable for this. I wanted to maintain 1 drive at home backing up weekly and then a second drive in a Secure Deposit Box in the occasion of a disaster at property (swapping out the drives every single month) and wanted software that would preserve track of the backups rather than just "copying" files more than every month to each drive. Sadly, the Memeo instant backup can't do this. I will play around with the computer software a bit additional, but it may come down to making use of Windows backup manager (not the greatest but additional 'tweakable' than Memeo). Worst case, I guess I could just manually copy the files just about every month that I want to back up, but I was truly trying to prevent that. If you are an typical user and not preparing on OCD backups like me, then the software will most likely operate for you. It's extremely user friendly and easy to navigate.Overall, the drive is whisper quiet. I have it hooked up to a USB two. Hub due to the fact the cable is only 18" and won't reach my USB 3. plugs on my case. Not a deal break and can't take off any eggs for that due to the fact it's seriously just a placement problem on my finish. Also, I have the back-ups running when method is "idle" so I don't seriously back stuff up in a hurry. USB 2. functions fine and I think the average user only has that connection anyway. five Eggs for size, sound and price - 1 egg for computer software and films that only take up space.

value is greatPortableEasy to connectNo need to have of power supply Earlier I have 2TB Western Digital Ɠ.5") and and 500 GB Portable WD Challenging Drive, each work speed than this Seagate Goflex. Every little thing is fine except speed, if it is superior in that there is no negative for this product. It would be wonderful if design also enhanced.

Pretty, shiny. Probably works fine with Windows. Drive constantly loses connection when attached to a Mac. The Mac puts up a warning that the device was removed unsafely. The net says this is a recognized concern. I've purchased about 20 challenging drives for my organization in the last year. In this time I've had to return four Seagates for various causes, and one particular Hitachi. All the rest of the devices I've bought have been Western Digital, with zero troubles.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1.5TB 2.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
Size, appealing look Slower than most USB three. drives if you can even get it to function. Customer support is non existent. They even charge you after the initial 30 days. Drive comes preloaded with tons of videos and it seems Seagate is a lot more interested in selling you content material than providing you with excellent items and service. If you are seeking for an external difficult drive, obtain the finest. You can't afford to lose your digital content material just to save a dime. Remain away from this item.

This drive is smaller and compact. Its extremely portable. I transfered 115gb in roughly 36 minutes using a Usb 3. port. This is considerably quicker than Usb 2.. It was mostly averaging about 40-60 mb through the transfer period. None so far and hope to keep it that way.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1.5TB 2.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:provided cable is a bit too short

Pros:high capacity, compact, high speed with USB 3.0
Comment:
if you need a high capacity external and portable drive this is the one. I would probably buy the WD-passport if it have the 1.5TB. Compare to the WD-passport, the FreeAgent is just a bit bigger. The only thing I don't like is the cable is a bit too short, maybe is good if use with a notebook but if to use with a desktop and your usb 3.0 plug is on the back of your tower then maybe you would prefer to have a longer cable for easy access.
