Best Server MB
Cons: Only SATA Raid or SATA DVD will work ....I installed IDE DVD drive.
Pros: Best MB...Set up was easy .....but you should read the user manual and pay attention to PSU requirements. |

Everything is excellent outside the auto fan control
Cons: - Amazingly annoying auto-fan control, even after BIOS update. This thing speeds up and back down completely once a second, and it's very noticeable and annoying!!!!!- No BIOS flash or windows compatible flash, keep your floppy handy (CDROM won't work either) - One ram stick is slickly hard to work with near a large CPU HSF
Pros: - Stable stable stable- No driver surprises (64bit or 32bit)- All ram slots work perfectly- Dual Quad Xeon support before the processors even dropped that worked perfectly- Quality sound- Plenty of USB/SATA Comment:
Curiously long initial boot response once button is pressed. Takes about oh, 1 to 3 seconds to even do anything. |

Excellent hardcore enthusiast board
Cons: The Supermicro software is not as feature rich as I am used to from other manufacturers. The automatic fan control system adjusts the fan speed constantly, and it's a little annoying to listen to it going up and down about twice a second.
Pros: I bought this board as part of a Digital Audio Workstation, for a home studio. It's also used for gaming and just general computer purposes. The board has everything laid out very clearly, and armed with the diagrams in the manual, had all the case-based peripherals hooked up in less than an hour. It's definitely made with home users in mind with onboard audio and PCI-E 2.0. Comment:
Not really a con, but for those who are adding this mobo into a home computer setting, might not be aware (as I was not) that the Xeon heatsinks do NOT screw on to the braces attached to the board, as is the case for other processors, but to the riser screws on the case. Make sure you keep around those extra riser screws for your case, otherwise you'll be making an unscheduled trip to your local PC store. |

So far so good
Cons: nothing yet.
Pros: No compatibility issues with any devices. A smooth ride in installing peripherals/OS/drivers. Comment:
Encountered a glitch in mounting this MB to the full toward case but I think it's the computer case's fault. |

eggsellent
Cons: None so far
Pros: Good, solid and reliable boardWe just used 8 of these puppies and they work like a charm.e5472, 8GB fbdimm, PNY fx3700. veloci raptor, sm733tq-645 case with zalman fan bracket Comment:
Be careful: if you do not have a case that provides good air flow to the memory slots, I would highly recommend a fan bracket. We used the zalman and an 8cm fan which blows air right into the dimm slots. If you populate all of them, this setup could double as a baking oven because the fbdimms get hot. Fresh French buns anyone? |
