Cons: Incompatibility issue with 7 64 bits 2008 r2 and sbs 2011 running a raid 0 or raid 1 config

Pros: Reliable with stock firmware
Comment:
I had this card for a year on jbod config with 2008r2 no problem for a yearIve migrate all data to set up a raid 1 and all of a sudden os cant boot. Card disconneted or all 4 drive os will boot fine Dont know if im right but silicon image 3124 chip firmware isnt compatible with syba even if it use the same 3124 chip from SI. Be careful the card come with a 6,3 bios and Windows 7/2008/2008r2/sbs2011 is fully compatible with 6.6 bios. I crashed the card doing the upgrade so Ive ordered 2 in case Ive retry. Be careful Matt.

Cons: None for what I am using it for

Pros: Works,Does What I bought it for
Comment:
Bought this card in order to free up some of the SATA ports (INTEL) on a DX58SO2 MB. Used it to free 2 x ports. I have an Antec DF-85 case with the top-mount slid-in 2.5" HDD mount - I use this for backup purposes only. Moved the DVD and the hot swap 2.5" to this card.I have no interest in running RAID on this card - flashed in to non-raid mode and am using the non-raid drivers (Windows 7 PRO 64 BIT). The 1.1.14.0 drivers were installed by Windows when re-booting - manually update d to 1.1.15.0 non-raid drivers.I could not get the flash utility to run properly under windows - booted from a DOS USB and flashed with the DOS flash utility without any problems. The drivers and BIOS update  I used were downloaded from the Silicon Image site - http://www.siliconimage.com/products/product.aspx?pid=27

Cons: Sometimes ports transfer speed isn't quite as good as most SATA II ports, but that is to be expected as it is not coming from the underboard chip

Pros: Does exactly what ir is supposed toDecent price for adding 4 SATA II ports
Comment:
Needed extra SATA ports for internal storage and this was a cheap and effective way of getting them. Speeds aren't amazing, but I don't need them to be as it is just holding storage drives for me.

Cons: not PCI-e and seems to limit bandwidth at SATA 1 speeds

Pros: number of ports
Comment:
Not bad and it works. One issue I've noticed is that it seems a couple of the ports are only SATA 1 speeds (burst speed measured in HD tune). Main reason I got this was that it had 4 ports.

Cons: None, seems a little slower than the SATA II on the motherboard though.

Pros: Worked great after installing downloaded drivers for Windows 7.
Comment:
I have 2 DVD drives, one is a Blu-ray reader and the other is a standard DVD burner. Both drives are LGE. I also have 3 Western Digital hard drives, but only had enough ports left on the motherboard for one of them. So two of the hard drives use the Syba 4 port SATA II card, these drives are used for back up and programs that take up a lot of space and aren't used often like Microsoft Office and some games too. Very pleased with the ease of installation of both hardware and drivers. Both the Bios and Windows 7 recognize both drives. This card is capable of Raid, but I'm not using that.
