Turned my crappy Avermedia into a workable product
Comment:
This indoor antenna is great. It too me a while to figure how to use it(well, until I read the instructions). Put the rabit ears horrizontally and point the arrow shaped arial towards the signal tower. After I did this I went from 0 channels to close to 10 channels all in good quality. Great product. Avermedia tv tuners are way over priced, go with a cheaper tuner and get this antenna. It will work great.

Great antenna.. definately worth it, however
Comment:
This one works so well that I purchased a second one for a TV in another room in the house. Be very aware though, that digital reception varies greatly depending on the location and orientation not only of the antenna but also your home. I'm in Toronto just east of the DVP expressway. Mine is pointing south east, right through 1 wall (not through the whole house). Weather also affects reception. On a good day, I receive over 20 crystal clear digital channels for free! I am very happy with this product. Some people may have very bad reception but it won't be due to the product itself. Disregard negative reviews above.

not for me
Comment:
Well it didn't work for me. I am just 10 minutes outside of Buffalo NY with at least two broadcasters within 10 miles and also should pick-up stations from Canada. Well at least 40 years ago with a rotory rooftop antenna we did. I gave it middle stars because it is built well big bulky and ugly but built well. I also think that maybe it is just my location, to much interference maybe? I had one ghostly station that I could only make out the outline of people and that was it. What a shame I was so looking forward to getting at least 4 local stations, one more than we used to have when TV was free and I would have said good bye to the $100 plus cable bill in a heartbeat, being one up on the old days I could have gladly lived with that.

It Works.
Comment:
I bought this item just to see if it works. I'm in a 5th floor apartment, facing east. I didn't expect to be able to get any signals at all, but was very surprised to get CBC Clear as a cable Channel. I'm Hanging on to it in case I am able to move to a west facing apartment.

poor perfromance
Comment:
Antenna does not work well outside of high signal area. On my old set, I could get 3 VHF stations with rabbit ears, with this antenna, I could only get 1 UHF Spanish language station

Pretty Good Antenna, HD channels superb
Comment:
From Hamilton Mountain I picked up 7 HD channels, plus 8 analog channels, with the antenna located by a northern exposure window. After a couple of mints I lost all the HD channels, don't buy the product!!! very poor quality!

Excellent Buy
Comment:
I live in North York. I dont know why some people give the Terk a 1 out of 5, because I have gone from 2 HD stations up to 9 HD stations. After the first scan I got 2 HD stns, but after I put it on my south window sill and placed it on it's back, it looked like a tree with a slight tilt. I then rescanned my tuner software and WOW! Not bad for a basement window facing south toward the CN Tower.

It pulled in all the channels avail in my area. Easy to setup. The thing is pretty big and can be an eye sore.

good
Comment:
Better than expected. However, to get the best reception I had to point it toward the sky. A longer cable would be nice.

Don't waste your money!
Comment:
I purchased two versions of this product. First I purchased the un-amplified model, returned it for the amplified model per TERK's recommendation for performance. At the end of the day I received 2 channels using this antenna. Using a homemade indoor antenna I now receive all the channels in my area.

Absolutely works as described
Comment:
I am in Toronto and approximately 7km from the CN Tower. From a basement window the Terk picks up 7 HD channels. The quality is outstanding! HD TV news broadcasts and live sports are like nothing you have seen before. Worth every penny. Goodbye Rogers HD box!

Way Better Than Expected
Comment:
We only received 6 channels with our old antenna. After we hooked up the Terk Antenna we now get 14 channels. We couldn't be happier. I will soon buy 2 more of these as back ups to our other TV's that are hooked up to satelite.

Didn't work - no signal
Comment:
I couldn't get any signal at all. Tech support for AV said that it's the brick walls in my house. I tried to point the antenna out the window towards the CN tower and that didn't work.

Worth the Money!!
Comment:
I bought this antenna because I wasn't getting great reception with my HD converter box. I did use an amplified antenna but this one works a lot better. I do not get any more channels than before, but at least the picture doesn't break up as much as it did before this purchase.

Wow! I don't need cable TV anymore.
Comment:
I live in Markham, Ontario. Yesterday, I made a coat-hanger HDTV antenna by following the YOUTUBE video; I am able to receive very sharp pictures from most of the UHF channels that was in the Basic Rogers'Cable Program. This makes me interested to search for a good indoor HDTV antenna; from the reviews on the web, I made the choice to try out the TERK amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Tiger Direct. Setup is easy; all I have to do is to point the antenna facing the CN Tower, which is the southwest from my home. At first, I set it up in my basement on top of my HDTV; I am able to get 11 stations (3,5,9,19,25,36,41,47,52,57,and 69). Most stations were very sharp, but some were not, so I moved the antenna to the second floor beside the south facing windows. Wow! I am able to get very sharp pictures from all the UHF channels and very good picture from channel 9, only 3, 5 are still not good. The signal from this antenna is very strong, it can split twice without degrading pictures.

not so good after all
Comment:
I expected more from terk. I'm in the NY area and expected to get all the local channels. For some reason this antenna intermittently chooses not to receive some channels. I would not mind changing the direction manually, but what's the use? It doesn't consistently pick up certain channels even without a change in the pointed direction. I am disappointed in this one.

Nice Indoor Atenna
Comment:
tried at Richmond Hill & Scarborough, works well & received over 10 HD signal. Must facing to south west direction to get the best receiving signal even on a lower rise building.

Expected much more
Comment:
Because I'm watching my pennies, I thought it'd be a good investment to purchase an amlifed directional indoor antenna. I'm sorry to say that my rabbit ears, which were connected to my VCR netted more stations than what I'm getting with my TERK HDTVa anntena.

The great compact antenna. The amplified signal may saturate your tuner, so don't be afraid to turn the amplifier off.

Works best outdoors
Comment:
I picked up a few channels with this unit indoors and was mildly pleased until I decided to try it outdoors. Now I have 3 digital HD channels and four additional analogs. I also pick up the analog equivilent of the 3 HDs, but scrubbed them as redundant. It'll be interesting to see how it fares in a west coast winter.

Great HDTV Antenna
Comment:
It is a large antenna but it picks up a lot of channels. It works best if you put it close to a window or door and not in the middle of the room. Overall it is a great antenna for the price.

Great!
Comment:
This is the best antenna. I paid twice as much for the exact same thing at Best Buy. That's the price of impatience. I bought an additional Terk from here. I wouldn't bother with non-amplified antennas - there's a huge difference.
