Bought this to replace an ASUS pce n-15 adapter. I had nothing but issues with the n-15... Windows recognizes this adapter immediately which is nice. I was getting between .15-2 mbps on this computer before installing this adapter, now i'm getting my full 30 mbps. Great adapter!

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:- the green PCB will clash with your fancy motherboard :D

Pros:- easy as pie to install.- fast speeds and reliable connection *SEE NOTE*
Comment:
I am using Windows 8.1 pro.Windows will automatically install a driver for this which works OK.For the best performance though I highly recommend you go to TP link's website and use their official driver for it. For me at least, it made a noticeable difference in the stability of the connection, and signal strength!

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:None yet.

Pros:Easy installation and software setup. Low-profile bracket included. Great wifi signal capture. Dual-band wifi.
Comment:
I just upgraded to this wifi card from a TP-LINK WDN3800. Nothing wrong with the last but had this extra lying around since I decided not to use it on another build. The card was easy to install. Drivers were installed from the included software disk in under 1 minute. Computer was connected to the home wifi again in under 5 minutes for this hardware switch/upgrade. Currently maxes out my 300Mbps router wifi; so to really make the most of this card and its speed then I will have to upgrade the router to 450Mbps since it's my network bottleneck. Never had any problems with TP-Link products and will continue to use them for my home networking needs.

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:Default software not that great

Pros:Great price, very stable
Comment:
Wanted to upgrade to a dedicated internal card since I was using a USB adapter for the longest time. Also needed a bump in speed for streaming. Worked great out of the box and works well with default Windows config (using x64 Win8). The software that comes with it is ok, not that great. Also, when trying different combos I wasn't getting the fastest speed when connected. I had to change it from the Wifi type from only G to mixed AG in by buffalo DD-WRT settings. In case some run into the same issues

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:- Software is somewhat janky and barebones

Pros:- Works as intended- Utilizes 5 GHz band for minimal signal interference- Doubled mbps speed from previous adapter (USB Nt2.4Ghz- Detachable antennae
Comment:
I've had this for about a week or two after replacing my DWA-130E because of the frustrations with random disconnects. Installing it is a breeze since you don't have to waste (a little bit) of effort installing the antennae. Due to its form factor, it's compatible with pretty much any motherboard that supports PCI. Speeds have almost *tripled* from ~30 mbps to 90+ mbps (still pretty low but that's non-fibre Canadian internet for you) and the 5GHz gives me minimal interference over the congested 2.4 GHz network. Overall it's a nice upgrade from what I've had before.

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:Frequent connection drops/packet loss on 5GHz AP on WinXP Pro x64.Bundled wifi utility is ugly, buggy and awkward, just install the drivers.

Pros:Easy to install.Connects fine over 2.4GHz AP.
Comment:
Installation went smooth.2.4GHz connection is stable.5GHz connection is unstable on WinXP Pro x64 with multiple driver versions, using the included utility, and using Windows Wireless Zero Config. Set Power Save Mode = Off as some have suggested. No difference. The included drivers and the drivers on the TP-Link site did not work very well on my system (XP Pro x64). I've found the connection is most stable using Qualcomm Atheros AR938x driver version 10.0.0.216 (found at www.atheros.cz) but I am still seeing a fair bit of packet loss and the disconnects occur often enough that I no longer attempt using this card on the 5GHz network, which was the main reason I bought this item. The card consistently reports a 450Mbps connection speed regardless of signal strength or whether it is connected to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz AP from a ASUS RT-N66U. My ASUS USB-N53 Dual Band connects at 300Mpbs max. on 5GHz but will occasionally show fluctuations to lower speeds, however I get zero packet loss and no connection drops.Tested under Ubuntu (Ultimate Edition 3.0 x32) with the ath9x driver (same system) and did not experience any packet loss or connectivity issues on 5GHz. Connection speed fluctuated between 180Mbps and 300Mbps.Tested under WinXP Pro x32 (same system) and despite some very minor packet loss, I did not experience connectivity drops on 5GHz with the Qualcomm Atheros AR938x driver version 10.0.0.216.Bought in-store - no Order ID = no verified owner.TL;DR: Don't use on 5GHz AP's WinXP Pro x64 systems. Cons:driver issue causing games to minimize constantly or enter windowed mode (see summary)

Pros:Pretty good receptionfast speedsno connection dropseasy setup
Comment:
I would have given this product 5 stars as it does everything I ask out of a wireless card. However, the other day all of my games started minimizing to desktop or entering windowed mode. I'm not talking once in a while, it was within 10 seconds of getting back into the game that it would happen again. At first I thought it was just the game I was playing, but after testing it on others and doing some serious online searching I found that the culprit was TWCU.exe which is the running process for the TP-Link card's little tray icon/program. Once I ended this process (or shut down the little utility program) everything has cleared up and no more issues. Your wireless connection is unaffected by closing the utility so all in all once I realized the problem it wasn't a very big deal.Great value w the sale price with free shipping you can't go wrong. Thanks again NCIX for another great product and quick shipping :)

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:somewhat weak signalSoftware Utility nothing special

Pros:PCI-EAtheros chip
Comment:
Maybe I was expecting too much.Signal isnt as strong as I want it to be, to be exact, I also have WN722N, which is a cheaper model, but they almost perform similarly. The only good thing, is that it is a PCI Card. The utility isnt anything special, to be honest, it is somewhat annoying, I almost always just use stock windows 7 network thing to connect to my router. The signal does drop  once every week or so, but it could be my router.

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:Lots of antennas poking out the back of my PC now!

Pros:Works perfectly in a hackintosh, fast and reliable connections, cheap
Comment:
This is the card recommended for those who want to build a hackintosh desktop with AirPort support. The card hasn't let me down, working well in Windows and MacOS, and it has provided me with consistently fast and reliable connections, and lets me use AirDrop. It's small inside the PC so I can put it in any PCI-Express 1x slot, and the antennas bend and can be placed nearly anywhere.I couldn't be happier, especially considering how inexpensive this card was.

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450MBPS DUAL-BAND Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N
Cons:Frequent disconnections after large transfers.

Pros:Fast & solid hardware, works with Win XP.
Comment:
This Wifi N card works well, and fast - for a while. Everyday use is fine but it starts disconnecting after transferring a fairly large amount of data, such as streaming video or transferring files larger than 1.5 gigs. It disconnects frequently after that until a reboot. Installing the current open atheros drivers did not help (and their UI is not user friendly). TP Link's customer support was quick, but no real help either.Such a shame, the hardware seems pretty good, I am guessing there's a simple buffer overflow bug that could be fixed by tweaked drivers.
