TRENDnet TPL-407E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Nano Adapter Kit With Built-in Outlet
Cons:- Ethernet cables don't have marking to let you know if their Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6- Software that comes with the devices cannot detect the devices when the computer is connected through a router. You'll need to have a direct connection from computer to the device in order to modify anything in the device (like upgrading their firmware, or personalizing them with a specific private network name and identification names)- When not on sale device is expensive. You're paying a premium of roughly $30 before tax for the electrical outlet pass-through compared to a similar device without a pass-through. To me, that's a bit expensive in my opinion.- Only has a 10/100MB connection, and not capable of 1GB speeds.

Pros:- Includes built in outlet so you don't lose an electrical outlet in case you need it- Small enough so it won't cover the adjacent outlet- Essentially a "Plug-and-Play" device - just need to press the button on each device to get them to sync securely- Comes with two Ethernet cables in case you don't have any- Comes with two adapters- Great price when it's on sale for $49.99- Its 3 pronged device that further helps against electrical shock- I receive 100% of my available internet download and upload speeds
Comment:
I bough this as a replacement for a wireless network that kept having deep drops in connection and at best was only able to use 50% of the available internet download and upload. After I bough the unit and made the appropriate changes to my home network, I now receive 100% of my available internet download and upload speeds.I'm very impressed with the device and I couldn't recommend it enough.* Please be aware that the advertised 500MBPS is NOT the theoretical speeds you can get, but rather the TOTAL cumulative speed you can get with the maximum number of devices allowed via powerline with this device. Because devices only have a 10/100mbps connector, each individual device is capable of a maximum of 100mbps transfer speeds. * This review was modfied by poster @ 04-11-15 10:07 PM

Wasn't getting a stable wifi connection but this helped. Slow down the desktop connection when someone is on wifi which sucked. But all of them do that from what I've tried

Pros:- Comes with 2 Ethernet Cables- Very Easy to use and install

If I have to start about my Wi-Fi experience, it goes 3 years ago... I was using an ASUS USB-N10 (horrible at best) to an ASUS PCI-N15 (worked like a charm and even in gaming) and lastly the mPCIe Combo II + Wi-Fi 802.11ac/Bluetooth 4.0 from the ASUS IMPACT Motherboard... Even after several configuration from my Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router EA6400 there was nothing I could do to give hope into Wi-Fi because of the walls and my microwave (which was really good to cut my Wi Fi completely while in use).I got the TRENDnet TPL-407E2K praying hard for a better result but was lazy to do all the wiring to my chamber. Now I use the maximum my ISP offers me and I could never miss the good old Ethernet cable enough. For all the hard time I was giving myself with Wi-Fi, I should have been punished by paying the whole price but I got the Powerline Adapter for a Daily Deal and in terms of Networking, I cannot be more satisfied.

TRENDnet TPL-407E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Nano Adapter Kit With Built-in Outlet
Cons:Don't expect anything near 500Mbps

Pros:Easy connection. Built-in noise filtering outlets.
Comment:
I upgraded from the previous model TPL-406E2K, as I sometimes got unexpected disconnections. After googling, found out that "powerline noise" from my computer might be the culprit! This model, TPL-407E2K, has built-in outlets with noise filtering. Once my computer is plugged into the noise filtering outlet, I no longer get any disconnections. Speed wise, it's more or less the same as the TPL-406E2K, around 6-8MBps (48Mbps-64Mbps) in real life.

Cons:pricey

Pros:Easy to hookup, decent speeds so far
Comment:
Purchase to replace a wireless setup (wireless N). The wireless good for browsing the internet but not for gaming. So thought I would give this a shot. Not to bad. Better than cabling a long wire to the room where i am. The price was high even on sale but able to price match at a good price.Setup took sometime by myself but when had help to sync the adapters worked like a charm. So far need to test more. Would recommend to anyone.

TRENDnet TPL-407E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Nano Adapter Kit With Built-in Outlet
Cons:opaque configuration, Windows only software

Pros:Easy to use, pretty good speeds
Comment:
Pretty simple and working fine for me- being used on home wiring that is not too hairy, so the speeds are on par with good wifi. The software is Windows only, so hard to manage for Mac/Linux users (press a tiny button, run through the house to press another tiny button). Make sure to get them on sale!

TRENDnet TPL-407E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Nano Adapter Kit With Built-in Outlet
Cons:Only the price when it's not on sale.

Pros:-super fast internet-stays up all the time-built in power plug is a HUGE bonus for older houses with a limited number of outlets
Comment:
Fantastic Powerline adapters! Plug and play - works great! Definitley an upgrade from my old PowerLine 100 and 200 adapters with the extra outlet in the back. Also, these just work out of the box, and don't have a finnickey setup like my old Monoprice ones did.

I bought these to extend my internet to an external shop. They are not plugged into the same circuit and still work well. The internet here is not very fast so I am not sure of the speed, but I definitely recommend this product for the $50 I paid.

My laptop has been plagued with router issues that prevented me from having an acceptable gaming experience and, while I purchased a new router (I still haven't set it up yet), I also bought this set to test out. It's definitely a good alternative to wireless especially if it's causing issues.I also got it on sale for ~$60

Pros:It works and it's fast.

Purchased it to put in the basement room where the wifi is weak. For the sale price of $49.99 & the good reviews I thought I'd give it a try. Tested it out on the same floor it works good & speed is fast. Set it up in the basement, it's working and it's fast. No more slow wifi for me. Definitely would buy again to expand and recommend it to anyone.

I needed a solution to connect my WD TV Live Plus media streamer downstairs so I can access Netflix, etc... Unfortunately, it's not wifi capable unless I buy a USB wifi adapter for it.This is the perfect solution.I connected one adapter to my modem upstairs, plugged it in. The other adapter, I plugged it downstairs and connected my WD TV Live Plus to it (also connected my Blu-Ray player) and it works perfect. Way better than the USB wifi adapter solution. My Netflix, YouTube etc doesn't lag. No complains here.Best thing... I got it for $49.99.

Pros:Extra outlet; Just works
Comment:
I plugged in and it just worked! Bought this pair at about $70 (tax included) when on sale, otherwise, a little bit pricey.I've not tested the speed but it does not matter to me because we mainly use the laptop for web browsing. The built in outlet is definitely helpful. I'd suggest that when you buy a pair, do take this as a must-to-have.

TRENDnet TPL-407E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Nano Adapter Kit With Built-in Outlet
Cons:Nowhere near 500mbps

Pros:Good price, easy setup
Comment:
The setup was easy and the hardware is nice. After installing and changing the encryption key I did a test. All network devices and router/switch support gigabit ethernet.Finding 1: Windows Task Manager reports the link speed to be 100mbpsFinding 2: Best file transfer speed seems to be ~6.8 MB/s (54.4mbps)Finding 3: WAN ping times < 25msThis should be fine most internet usage, but if you're streaming HD media, you may get stuttering for 1080p with surround.

Got these to pipe internet upstairs where I can't run a line. They are simple to set up (plug and play) and seem to work great. I have mine plugged into different circuits and they work fine. On the terminal end I plugged a Dlink wifi access point into it and it "just works", lol.
