Thermaltake A2492 Case Fan

Quiet (initially) and has wonderful air flow. TT has good produts usually. Currently sounds like a berring is going out and I've only had it for 4 months. The final fan (which was the similar fan) lasted for just about 1.five years, so I got this one particular pondering I would most likely get about the very same from it. Doesn't look that way this time. When you purchase points that spin rapidly and have tiny components, it can be hit or miss. When the price is correct, you win some and loose some. For sleeve fans these are awesome. Quiet pushes excellent quantity of air. none I purchased 2 of these without having realizing they had been sleeve bearing fans and installed them. They are quieter and push much more air than the apevia's they replaced so I bought 5 more switched out all my fans and my video card and cpu temps dropped 2c. I have a NZXT case with 7 120mm fans and you wouldnt believe that with as tiny noise that they make.

Quite quiet - I essentially didn't notice it went out. Airflow was wonderful. Right after 9 months of use the fan bearing locked up. The energy continued to flow which generated a lot of heat. This didn't cause any harm simply because I caught the issue quickly enough. Also, it's not flashy. This came preinstalled in the Thermaltake case, so I didn't pay for it, but it's not a lengthy term solution.

The pro is thermaltake. I like the new design and style with far more fins, as this increases airflow. The RPM and 120mm size keeps the fan relatively silent. I only use 120mm fans since they are a lot more silent. I only trust my thermal management to thermaltake. I have been buying Thermaltake fans for years, and these fans typically do not last more than 1 year. In some cases, these fans burn up in six monthes. I have a thermaltake SViking case with a dust filter and 120mm fan in the front and back. The back fan typically dies a single every single 6-12 monthes. I often use thermaltake fans. The brand doesn't truly matter with these fans for longevity, but the thermaltake fans are constantly quieter. I like the new turbine searching style. I in no way waste dollars on the LED fans, these burn up too fast to buy something fancy. I comprehend they burn up due to dust and friction. I would like to see some ball bearing thermaltake fans.

Speed is NOT a greater priority more than size when selecting a fan. That doesn't even make any sense. When selecting a laptop case or CPU fan, the ONLY two items that matter are dBA and CFM. In other words, how loud and how significantly air it moves. Size and AND speed figure out the performance of the above criteria, and as a matter of truth they're inversely proportional to every other. The larger the fan, the slower it can be to obtain the same CFM, and typically benefits in significantly less dBA (as an added benefit). This is the principal reason why a lot of instances are moving to 120mm fans as their principal choice. You're seeing the identical trend with CPU coolers, also. Don't choose a smaller sized fan simply because it has a faster rotational speed. It will most likely push less CFM and be louder, therefore being a worse selection all round.

Moves a lot of air. I could barely really feel the air flow in and out with my old fan. I can really feel this one particular. Keeps my case and CPU quite cool. Louder than expected, although I normally only notice at evening and the noise isn't too irritating. Still, there is no way this is a 17 dBa fan. The fan that shipped with my case would at times not start. Even when it did, my CPU temps have been pushing above 50 degrees C. (it didn't aid any that my Video card fan was dying at the very same time.) My CPU temps barely go above 40 C now.

I chose the 120 mm fan over the 140 mm fan for my case mainly because this one can get up to 1300 RPMs whilst the 140 mm 1 can only get up to 1000 RPMs. Speed is a higher priority more than size when choosing a fan for something. Doesn't have LED's.

At least I only wasted ป! Tends to make a noise type of like a miniature wood chipper - a whiney buzz that changes pitch like its grinding up some thing. Purchased this to match the fans in my Sunbeam VentMax case because my mobo didn't have enough fan connectors. It was at least twice as loud as the complete rest of the method! Didn't sound like a fan, additional like some type of tiny industrial grinder or such! I wound up modifying the original Sunbeam fan's connector and now every thing's quiet! (Great case - check it out!)

Red looks cool. Matches my case. Not that loud.... at 1st Following a month and a half this fan started producing a whirring sound following coming out of standby. The fan that it replaced was also a thermaltake that following a year seized up. I feel I will keep away from Thermaltake fans going forward

About a medium-low hum, quieter than 80mm fans. It also pushes a lot of air for this level of sound. Thermaltake styles are usually superior than other suppliers. Excellent good quality. I have had to preserve getting these units because of dust. The dust gets into the electromagnet and it causes friction. The units eventually get as well hot internally and stop spinning. I do not have a dusty surroundings inside the case. This model's style is prone to dust troubles.I have had this model die as soon as six monthes. It is not worth my time to warranty, but I will obtain a much better fan next time. I am switching to the thermaltake HydroDynamic bearing fans because they have a lifetime rating of 50,000 hours. I would suggest the same to any person thinking about to purchase this model fan.

Very quiet in my HTPC case can't even hear them running til I get within about a foot of the case. Even then extremely quiet. Great cooling for the cost. At this price save on shipping and buy a couple at when in case you will need or want additional cooling for your pc later. None Would be nice if they have been made available in black also but given that they are behind fan filters you can't see the color in my application.

The fan met my expectations - it undoubtedly pushes out more CFM than the "silent" fan my case came with. Took my motherboard temperature down from 65C to 51C during load. This can\'t possibly be a 17dB fan. My older fan was supposedly a 17dB fan and this 1 is noticeably louder. Of course, I can't complain as this fan considerably reduces my running temperature.Just wish they would re-evaluate and update the noise specs so builders wishing to have a quieter machine don't accidentally end up with a louder than anticipated process. For about 4 days after installing this fan, I had the "new electronics/plastic" smell in my office that I couldn't get rid of. Wiping off the fan/blades with a wet cloth seems to have decreased the smell a bit, but only time with all the windows open seemed to aid the scenario any. Not confident if this was just this distinct unit, or if I'm just terribly sensitive to odors. YMMV.

Does precisely what its supposed to move air and lots of it onto my graphics card! Not one particular... possibly noise? The 120mm fan that came with my case drowns this ones noise out. Noise doesn't imply significantly to me, this fan is whisper quiet and does the job and does it incredibly properly in my opinion. Thermaltake in my experience builds excellent goods.

It moves a lot of air. Put your bare skin by it for a minute or so, and you'll get cold. It is relatively quiet. Significantly quieter than any of the fans that came with the box. None.

This fan, to my surprise, moves a lot of air. It was a significant difference in cooling compared to my old fan. And boy does it suck, I mean SUCK a lot of air in to retain my cpu cool even beneath extreme OC situations. I'd expected the fan to be a bit much more quiet. It was noticeably considerably louder compared to my old fan but I guess you have to sacrifice cooling for much more noise eh? I in fact installed 3 of these fans (adding 2 further to what I originally had) into my case and identified the noise level to be unbearable. It moved huge quantity of air but the humming was just as well significantly to take. Ended up taking two out and kept the one particular I intended to replace. Now the noise level is tolerable, I'm curious to attempt out another fan in hopes it can move close to the similar level of air but with much less noise.

silent.50 cfms. way much better then my stock fanslow costthermaltake to quiet. you'll under no circumstances know if it dies, is it even on. lol surely gonna purchase much more. i bought a single of these and a xigmatek 72 cfm fan. the xigmatek outperforms but this one particular has a best cfm to noise ratio.

I needed a fan to replace my psu fan due to the fact its been non working for some time now. I had to cut and solder the leads together to get every little thing to perform.Soon after every thing was mentioned and completed it dropped my program temps significantly due to the fact the psu was now dissipating heat itself rather than my antec 900 performing it for it. The fan moved alot of air and didnt add any noise to my case! I must have gotten adequate of them to replace every single fan in my case? There really should be a connector in a power supply to connect a fan like this rather than having to solder and shrink wrap every thing... Then again i would have a mess of coiled wire in my psu protect against air movement...
