1st time making use of this type of device. Functions okay - however might have concern with fit. Soon after assembling the laptop or computer and making use of converter, the SSD either slipped out of place or moved, causing the drive to bump out of spot. Could be case. Advise the converter, just be positive the fit is solid. |

Precisely what it says it does, fits my 2.five in. SSD drive in 1 of my three.five in. bays. It works with my tool-much less bays as well just fine. I chose this 1 b/c of cost, being metal and not plastic, very good brand, and it doesn't enclose the drive in with the heat it produces, it's all open and virtually floating so it's good for airflow. None that I can feel of. |

It fits 2 laptop size drives nicely and firmly. Mounting holes for those drives line up ok. Designed for 3.5 inch drive bay with side screws only. No bottom screw holes. Appear at any three.5 inch drive or 3.5 inch floppy drive and you see side screw mounts AND bottom screw mounts.Screw holes for three.five inch mount seemed painted by way of. Attempting to secure supplied screws in 3.five inch mounting holes would not thread unless excessive force was applied to "cut the threads" in the holes. I would contemplate RMA for issues with 3.5 inch mounting holes but due to price of product it just isn't worth the effor...or hassle...depending on how you see it.I expect superior good quality from Thermaltake. Their case fan products constantly appear to install cleanly and speedily for me. |

Made of metal and extremely sturdy. Seemed really high good quality. The drives were uncomplicated to install. The drives mount just a bit too close together so SATA energy connectors will have trouble fitting into two drives. I managed to get it to work out. If you have trouble receiving the 2 power connectors in, eliminate 2 screes from 1 end of the leading drive and u can slightly tilt the drive up and leave it that way. This worked really well after I managed the energy cables. |

Screw holes had been spaced out enough for a 120gb OCZ Vertex 2 and a 5400rpm hd. Feels solid. Screw holes don't match regular size HD screws for my Antec P183 case. I had to use spare screws that I discovered that would work with the special rubber pads in the HD installation bay. Only had two so it is a little flimsy. |

It came with every little thing that I required. They missed a spot when they painted it. I can see how it originally looked like. But hey, it works ~! And it is just a little spot. |

Was effortless to install on a drive rack in my HAF 932. Feels high high quality. The holes to mount the converter to the drive rack are threaded, and couldn't seat the "pins" on the drive rack. I replaced the pins with 4 screws that had been included with the converter. Issue solved. Best for mounting an SSD (or two!). |

Thermaltake AC0014 3.5" HDD Converter for 2.5" SATA & SSD Hard Drives
Cons:
none
Pros: good price, provides flexible mounting options, full-length for a 3.5" bay, lots of screws Comment:
I had to mount some SSDs in a Dell case which has a tray system so I needed a full-length 2.5/3.5" adapter which this provided.Be sure to note the mounting holes on your SSD, if they are on the side and/or bottom. The bottom holes on this adapter wouldn't work for my standard size 2.5" SSD, I guess they are for another size drive. Luckily I had side holes that worked well. |
