Temps OK
Cons: Fan dings heat fins when spooled up to high RPM
Pros: Keeps AMD 965 cool OC'd to 4.0Ghz. Looks sweet! Comment:

2 Years... 2 CPU's later... 5 eggs!!!
Cons: Dated design. Round design can be tricky to get ram and wiring installed. Wish I could crank up fan speed higher :)
Pros: Lower profile design. Blows towards MB and away towards ram. Lots of copper but chromed out. LED light is suttle. Quiet. Great temps for stock and overclocking. Comment:
I've been using this since Dec. 2007. Two cpus later and still working like a champ. Phenom II 955 3.2Ghz at stock speeds running 31-33C idle, max load 48C but during gaming, averages around 44C. My room temps are around 68 to 72F. When I overclocked my older Phenom I 9500 from 2.2 to 2.55Ghz stable, my idle temps were 24C and max load was 31C.I have yet to OC my 955 BE, but I have lots of room for max load temps. |

Thermaltake MaxOrb Heatpipe CPU Cooler LGA775 AM2 S939 S754 120MM Blue LED Fan 1300-2500RPM 16-24DBA
Cons: This thing is pretty big. It covered half of my RAM in my old system, making my RAM a little hard to get to. But that's a very small complaint.
Pros: Really Quite. I never heard it since the day I got it. Until my Mobo failed, this thing cooled my CPU very well as far as I know. I never really tested it, but from what I saw, it stabilized at around 35C, never tampering with the RPM. Comment:
My old CPU was an AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 5400+, which is what this cooled for me |

Tt MaxOrb 120mm Cooler
Cons: Some fins were bent and the rounded fin sets had to be bent apart and all reset, at first the installation was kind of weird, but leave that wobbling gap there between the plate and the fan when you apply the fan and torque it down it stops wobbling. Instructions were a little hard to grasp, but when I realized I wasn't installing using certain parts and I wised up and found AM2 info I was fine.
Pros: Blue LEDs, adjustable speed knob, Cools really well, has enough RPMs to make the temp go down from 80C to 60C or 175F to 158F. My CPU is a AMD Black 6400 3.2Ghz and it runs really hot and I am not even OC'ing it and this cooler stopped my overheating. Had to do BIO to turn off the alarm but I reset to 70C so it is still better. I would definitely reccomend this cooler, makes less noise than the Vantec 80mm fan I have installed. Comment:

shinny
Cons: nothing with the fan or heatsink really other than some of the thin "foils" were bent when it arrived.also not that this is new eggs fault but the next day i ordered this last shipment from new egg my hard drive started throwing errors. looks like i'll have to buy more stuff! (evil genuis laugh inserted here)
Pros: went in like butter! uhh kinda gross! looks good though i had to put my ear to the case to make sur i had a computer. this thing is amazinly more quiet than my stock cpu fan. crazy queit by day... shinny and blue by night. Comment:

Nice
Cons: Installation was enough of a pain in the extreme lower back to lose an egg. The mounting clip that attaches it was bent too far for it to be humanly possible for me to install it. I had to take it off, which unfortunately also requires taking the fan off, etc, and bend it back a little. The manual sucked, but thats standard nowadays. Id rather have a bunch of pictures than 20 different languages.I was installing it on a socket 939
Pros: Its quieter than my case fans, and much quieter than my raptor... Its weighs alot less than most other heatsinks at this level of performance, which is also pretty high. It also matches all the other LEDs and shiny things in my case. The cost is quite reasonable. The speed adjuster is nice. Comment:
Its big. This is a requirement of all high end heatsinks though. Some of the fins were bent when I got it, and they were touching the fan blades. It was easy enough to fix. |

This Cooler is a beast - with claws :(
Cons: This CPU is possibly the most difficult piece of machinery I have ever had to install into anything. In order to install it the way the manual wrote, I needed to have a surgical tube-camera + flashlight, so I attached it to the pin armature before fastening the pins. The armature itself almost squished half the capacitors on the upper end of the motherboard anyway.Once it was on, I had to reach and press on the pins, which were beneath the metal fins, and required me to bend my finger beneath them, and then press down on my finger with the other hand - in short, my thumbs and two of my fingers were bleeding by the time it was installed - what a pain, but worth it.It also blows warm air on my graphics card, and I had to remove the mcp fan to fit it in - but at least my case has plenty of airflow.
Pros: It keeps my e8500 below 50C at high load when overclocked just past 4Ghz, and its only at 1800 Rpm (2000 is the max) It works great, and I dont have to worry at all about my CPU's temp anymore, very efficient. Comment:
This is a great heatsink if u have a massive case, and as long as the cpu is the first thing to install - having the power cables and dimms in the way definately didn't help. The designers just didn't general speaking, make it people-friendly. But, judging from this cooler, thats what it takes to make what is possibly the best air-cooled cpu solution out there below $100 |

couldnt use
Cons: It says it fits socket LGA775, but on my NVIDIA NForce 750i SLI MB, it wouldn't fit. Very large unit, was hard to fit into my Thermaltake Armor+ MX Midtower case.
Pros: Couldn't use Comment:
I didn't use it but the heat spreaders outside of the fan are flimsy, be careful not to touch them or they will bend. I would think that they might rattle when the fan is turned up. Manufacturer Response:Dear Customer,If your motherboard don't have those oversize/tall northbridge cooler. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for more assistance of product.Thank you, |

Orb quality has declined
Cons: Machining quality has dropped dramatically since the Blue Orb. Mine was actually bent so badly (even though it cosmetically looked fine,) that the fan couldn't turn. Noise made by the fan is also indicative of a bad or damaged fan.
Pros: Works even with issues. Interface with CPU relatively clean out of the box and defect-free. Installation MUCH, MUCH easier than the Golden Orb II, (for those of you who remember how installing that on Athlon systems had a 1/5 chance of breaking your processor). Comment:
If you get one that works, it's a great product. Honestly, it doesn't need the variable fan switch on the side since most modern computers can control this via an interface in windows. |

Great cooler
Cons: VERY snug fit on my ASUS P5Q-E motherboard because of the motherboard's heatsinks.
Pros: Keeps my q6600 running at around 25C idle and never tops 38C under full load, with an ambient temp around 21C. Very quiet and the fan speed is adjustable, although I haven't found a need for the higher setting. Comment:
Compatible with the ASUS P5Q-E, but it is a very snug fit. |

North worth the money.
Cons: its really loud, its really hard to install, some of the blades come bent, it is very difficult to change the fanspeed on.
Pros: It cools the computer better than the standard intel fan. Comment:
i ended up taking it out and putting in a Zalman, which works great, i can also control the fanspeed via a knob i can stick on the outside or use internal comp program if i choose not to have the knob put in.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223 |

I Love It!
Cons: None that I can think of.
Pros: I love this fan. It's big, but it fits nicely in my case and on my mobo (GIGABYTE GA-X48T-DQ6). I was able to orient it in the case so that the bracket goes up (toward the power supply) and that gives some air on the open side to cool the RAM and it allows me to get to the RAM sticks. Comment:
Keeps my CPU core temps (in a warm room) between 95F/35C and 105/40C. If I have the window open and window fan running the temps (with the cooler air from outside) drop about 2-5F to 93-100F on average still hitting 105 occassionally depending on what I'm doing. |

Good but a Pain
Cons: Size: HUGE! Covers 2 RAM slots and my chipset stuff. Also a real pain to install. AM2/AM2+ wasn't bad to install, but LGA775 was tricky. Of course, I hate Intel's push pin design. Aluminum fins bend easy.
Pros: Great Thermaltake product. Very powerful cooling. Probably one of the best air coolers on the market. Comment:
Still worth a 5 cause of the performance of it. |

Big Cooler
Cons: Definitely a PITA to install. I had to remove the whole mobo and other retaining plate in order install it. Newegg sent me one with plenty of bent fins, I had to go through a fix them. Not a huge fan of Newegg...
Pros: Very big fan, will cool your CPU VERY well, as well as help move air around your case. Comment:
I had a mini-typhoon on before and it "mated" to my 6400+ with the arctic silver, so this is the last CPU for me...AMD 6400+, 4GB OCZ w/Thermaltake Spirit heatsinks, Gigabyte GA-MA57SLI-S2, tiny GFX card (EVGA 8400 GS), Sunbeam Transformer case with PLENTY of cooling, lite up Blue, 600w PS. |

Decent
Cons: It doen't cool the MB very well and thats the reason I bought it. The CPU gets higher temps than my 9700 NT but not by much.
Pros: This cooler is an alright cooler that is more for an asthetic look then overclocking. The blue light is the best fan/cooler light I have seen. Not too bright or dim. My crucial tracer are being cooler by this very well. Fan control is in a good spot right on the cooler. Comment:
Bought two 4cm fans that I'm going to try and strap to my MB heatsinks on my crosshair and see if that will bring down the temps more. Probaboly going to use good old zip ties. |

don't bother
Cons: After 5 months the fan started to wobble making a horrible grinding noise. Replaced before it with an ASUS unit before it could fail completely
Pros: It worked...... for awhile Comment:
Don't waste your time or money. New CPU cooler works like a champ Newegg rocks even if some of the products they sell don't. |

mostly good
Cons: This thing is enormous! and installing it bends the fins so that they vibrate against one another. The included bracket is brittle it broke on me after 2 months. I superglued it back together, and installed a steel bracket over the lower half to re-inforce it, back in business.
Pros: Brought my 5000BE down about 10c, Brightness of the led is just right, and is reasonably quiet. Comment:
$52? no. $40? maybe. the way this thing installs is bound to break the bracket, they ought to redesign it. but in the end my 5000BE runs at 29c with CnQ enabled oro 37 w/o. |

Not Worth It
Cons: Cools about the same as most of the 25$ coolers on here, dont waste your money. I replaced a arctic freezer 7 with this and gained 2-5c on my Q6600, even after lapping this bulky hunk of metal my temps were still unacceptable.
Pros: It works. Makes a great paper weight here on my desk.... Comment:
Running a thermalright ultr 120 extreme now, and keeps thing almost 15c cooler than this waste of money.... |

Gets the job done, after slightly painful installation process
Cons: After I had it installed, I turned on my system and the fan wasn't spinning (My cpu was idleing in the mid 30s even without the fan moveing) I thought I connected it wrong so I checked everything, and relised that the fan was so close to one side of the heatsink fins, that it would just get hung up on them. So I had to do a lot of bending of a large grouping of the fins so they wouldn't get in the way, after that it worked fine.
Pros: I dropped my 1.8 dual core cpu Idle temps from the mid to high 40s down to the low 20s, that's pretty good for Air if you ask me. Comment:
Its very big, I still had some a decent amount of room left after I put it in my 9 inch wide case.I would definetly recomend an aftermarket cpu heatsink, however I wasn't impressed with this ones build quality I would definetly try a different one the next time I purchase a heatsink. |

looks good , runs well
Cons: Couldn't install.Capacitors right next to the CPU socket make it impossable. This cooler does not work with ASUS P5N-DMotherboard.
Pros: Looks like a great cooler. Comment:
A bit heavy maybe. Still trying to decide what to buy for a fan powered cpu cooler |

Good Fan & Heatsink
Cons: Its pretty big so make sure you have the room for it. I have it in an APEVIA X-CRUISER mid-tower and have plenty of room. It's a pain to install, had to completly take out my mobo to install
Pros: I bought this for an AMD Athlon 64 x2 6400+ Black Edition and it works great. Idols around 35c and the hotest ive seen is around 60 under full load, which my case traps a lot of heat as well so either way, it stays cool. Even with the fan at full blast, it is still very quiet. Comment:
Def worth the money if your having heat issues. Love AMD but they do tend to get a bit toasty. This helps a lot. |

Thermaltake MaxOrb Heatpipe CPU Cooler LGA775 AM2 S939 S754 120MM Blue LED Fan 1300-2500RPM 16-24DBA
Cons: It's hard to see the actual SIZE of this thing! It's HUGE. We used this with an ASUS CROSSHAIR AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard and we can't use mem slots 1 and 2 with CORSAIR XMS2. It's somewhat rough to lock down without ruining the thermal compound.
Pros: Cools well, looks awesome, adjustable, stable, Comment:
Different mounting system would make it easier to install. |

Keeps my Computer Cooler
Cons: Takes about 30min to install.
Pros: Keeps my AM2 6400+ about 10C cooler. At load my computer was getting about 50c to about 60C wtih stock fan. Know I get about 30c to about max 48c under load. Work great with Arctic Silver 5. Comment:
Works great with Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe, AMD X2 6400+, 2x 9600GT EVGA Geforce SLI |

Might have been a great buy if...
Cons: Unfortunately, this is one of the worst LGA775 bracket designs I have ever seen. The mounting bracket needs to actually rest on the board, (or extremely close to it) and did not fit my Asus Striker II Formula Motherboard. For other types of Motherboards, Im sure it would have worked great, but I wont find out anytime soon.
Pros: The MaxOrb just like all the other Orbs, has a great design. It also has its flaws. The fins on this Cooler are Flimsy, and dont hold up well, they are much thinner, and theoretically, since they arent as dense, should transfer heat faster. Although I never got to experience that. Comment:
I used a BlueOrb II on a previous build, and had one readily available as a backup (wasnt sure what to expect from the first one) Installed the new BlueOrb II and it worked like a charm! Newegg RMA and Tech Support was great! That alone would make me buy from Newegg again!System Specs: Asus Striker II Formula Mobo, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4GB(2GBx2) OCZ DDRII 800 RAM, XFX Geforce 8800GTS 512 (G92), Tagan BZ 900w Piperock PS, Xclio Twin Engine Case, Blue Orb II, Western Digital 250GB Sata 3 HD, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit |

I replaced my ZALMAN CNPS 7500 AlCu LED 110mm which idled at 42 degrees maxed out with Prime 95 at 60 degrees.Replaced thermal paste with Artic 5 -still could not get any lower. Read Mr Frosty cooler reviews and thought it was worth a try - called ThermalTake with some questions first - got a tech who answered the phone on first ring. The MaxOrb idles at 29-32 degrees and runs prime 95 at 39-40 degrees. No Comparison I have the Armour MX case and am limited to cpu fans less than 110 mm - this fits fine
