Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:Can't think of any—I may be in love here!

Pros:Key action and surfaces feel great!Very accurateQuiet (for a mechanical keyboard)Solidly builtClassy, understated designChoice of L or R cable routingFun product name :?)
Comment:
I'm a technical writer and a pretty busy typist. I have several mechanical-switch keyboards, as I find their crisp, definite action lets me type faster and more comfortably than cheaper keyboards with rubber-dome switches.Till now, I've used only keyboards with Cherry MX switches, whose varieties offer quite a combination of features (silent or clicky, smooth or tactile, light or heavier touch).I read about Topre's new key-switch technology—how it works by changing the capacitive resistance between key contacts, rather than requiring them to physically touch like all other key mechanisms. Reviewers and users said that this made typing very smooth and fast, with a unique and pleasing feel.No matter how great it might be, though—$200 for a keyboard? Excuse me? (And yes, I know you can spend much more than that on them—there's no shortage of madness in the world!)And then, on a visit to NCIX, I made the "mistake" of asking a technician if he'd ever tried a Type Heaven. Yes, he had, and he thought it was fantastic. (NCIX's salespeople aren't pushy at all—but again, this was a technician, with nothing to gain if I bought anything.)Uh-oh, an in-person testimonial now, in addition to everything else... I tried to put it out of my mind. Then the Type Heaven went on sale for $159, and I thought, "Oh well, I didn't want to be married anyway!" :?)Bottom line: This is the best keyboard I've ever used. You can't really describe  what it's like to type on it. It just feels right—solid, but with little resistance. (I know that seems like a contradiction, but if you try one, you'll see what I mean.) I love the elegant, dark gray design, too. I'm not a gamer, just a typist, so I don't need something that looks like a Star Wars prop.I still wouldn't pay $200, but at this price, I have no reservations. The "Heaven" name isn't too far off!

Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:- Cable isn't detachable- relatively wide.

Pros:- Excellent Build quality- Lovely feel
Comment:
A great feeling keyboard that I absolutely adore now. I bought it based on suggestions that it would be quieter than a cherry-blue keyboard. However, I have found it's not so much quieter as less intrusive a sound; A thwock rather than a tinny click. The feel is hard to describe; I've taken to saying it feels like a scissor switch, with a much larger amount of travel.

Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:Price is too expensive at $200; decent on sale at $140. I miss having volume controls on the keyboard.

Pros:Fast and accurate, built like a tank. Quieter than Cherry.

I bought a Corsair K70 (MX Brown) for my wife. While she loved it there was something about the feedback that I didn't like. I've been using decent Saitek rubber dome keyboards for years and figured Topre's hybrid switch might be a good fit for me. Yes, yes it is.If you're looking for a significant upgrade from any rubber dome or membrane board, or just any kind of quality alternative to Cherry switches, Topre is a great candidate.

Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:Moderately Expensive

Pros:Built solid
Comment:
People don't really think much about how a keyboard get's expensive.Topre switches are pretty high quality and consistent. They don't give you any bullshit, and are not very loud. I tend to use cherry blues at home for my typing, but I really enjoyed this keyboard. It now lives at my workplace, as it's the only high end keyboard I have that would be appropriate for that setting. It's also performs like a champ. Keycaps feel really high quality with a nice texture as well.My other keyboards in the collection are as follows.Das - bluesSteelseries - blacksFilco Minila - Blues (currently on)Duck Shine 3 - BluesSo when I give this keyboard a 5, it's because it's a 5.

Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:Not PBTNon-detachable USB cord

Pros:Topre Key Caps45g even weighting across all keys
Comment:
Bought this because I've been lugging my Leopold Tenkeyless w/ Brown switches to work.Bought this on an impulse at $139.99 at Aberdeen. Completely worth it. Not as loud as the mechanical switches, but has a nice sound to it. Weighting is evenly distributed and requires just the right amount of pressure (in my opinion).

Topre ZA0100 Type Heaven Capacitive Switches 104 Key Black Mechanical Keyboard w/ Black Keycaps
Cons:Short USB Cord

Pros:Topre KeyswitchesSimple no useless buttons
Comment:
My friend recommended this to me, I tried his Topre realforce and it felt much better than any mechanical/membrane keyboards I've ever used.Got this today and the only slight annoyance I find is that the usb cord is not very long, it barely reaches my desktop usb port which isn't even far away. You'd think for a top-end keyboard like this they would give it a longer cord.

Cons:No included PS/2 adapter for N-key rolloverCable is not braided

Pros:No key chatterQuiet in comparison to Cherry MX switchesNo flashing lights, gizmos or crapProfessional lookingResponsive and incredibly accurateReduces hand fatigue after long sessions of typingHeavy
Comment:
This is by far the most comfortable keyboard I have had a chance to use for more than a day or too.I've tried a HHP and a Topre RealForce boards before that have the varying key resistance and I prefer the uniform weight-requirement for each key.I've owned numerous Cherry Black/Blue/Brown keyboards from various manufacturers (DECK, Leopold, Steelseries) and the Type Heaven is my new favorite.
