Connected me to the internet inside 5 minutes. There were no problems with it at all, and there aren't any heat difficulties. Absolutely nothing considerably, folks complain about it saying that the size is a bit bigger than they expected. I truly didn't notice the size becoming an challenge as it genuinely isn't large at all. 1 of the reviews posted a link saying to install the Realtek drivers and I thank him for doing that. Read critiques about other individuals having troubles with the CD drivers that the device came with. I avoided the disc altogether and downloaded the other drivers and the device seems to be operating fine. They integrated a tiny 6" usb cable so that if the adapter was just slightly also massive or one thing that you can have it hanging on the back of your computer devoid of a tight fit.I bought this to replace an internal card that had a broken antenna, so overall I'm pleased.

Great network adapter at the cost I got it for. Doesn't overheat so far. Usually dongles like this a single overheat and have intermittent connection difficulties but this 1 has not had any troubles surprisingly. Not compatible with Wireless N. Cheap plastic construction. Clunky plastic usb port cover Not the ideal dongle out there when it comes to range mainly because it has no sizeable antenna to aid its range. But when priced beneath บ shipped it is the greatest I have ever utilised at that cost point.

NONE! Would have given ZERO Eggs but the lowest is 1. Keeps dropping signal and reconnecting. At times it would not "see" my network and I had to reboot the Computer. The configuration utility it comes with is practically useless. It worked much superior employing Realtek drivers (it utilizes a Realtek chipset) downloaded from Microsoft with Windows Zero configuration, but that isn't saying it worked excellent. It also was locking up my Computer about 3 to four occasions a day. I didn't realize it was the Trendnet dongle at very first, but because I uninstalled it and its drivers from my Pc, it no longer crashes. My tips is to not even waste your cash on this even at sale cost of ű.99 and free shipping. How can organizations sell such trash? I know from reading other evaluations on this that some individuals have not had difficulties with this dongle, but why take the likelihood. Adequate other individuals have written critiques with the identical isssues that I had. Commit a tiny much more and get a good quality brand dongle. You get what you spend for.

Functions great and low-cost. My home has thick walls and I bought 2 various wireless adapters just before this one. I couldn't get any connection with the other two but this 1 provides me 3ǚ bars. Get's actually hot. From time to time, the transfer rate will drop to 1 Mpbs and remain that way, but if I unplug it and plug it back in, it'll work once again...this rarely happens although.

It works as advertised, quick and uncomplicated to install. The Computer I bought doesn't have a CD drive nonetheless downloading the drivers off the manfuactors site was a breeze. I don't like third party wireless software program, I have to use a 3rd party computer software (which comes a part of the drivers) to connect to wireless networks. This is why I've given it a four out of 5, although the third party computer software does perform as intended Honestly if your not into super uber duper performance, and just want wireless on your laptop, desktop Pc which doesn't have a card in it and you can't or don't want to open the case this is the way to go.

OK signal strength when it can connect. Performs out of the box in Windows 7 and even Ubuntu. Great style. Cheap - I got a refurbished v3. version of this adapter at a very good price. Prone to disconnects and wildly varying, low connection speeds beneath 54 Mbps. The weird shape demands that you have a USB extension cable so it doesn't block typical USB ports. The disconnect difficulties don't appear to be a driver concern, due to the fact I've noticed the same behavior in Ubuntu and unique driver versions in Windows didn't solve the challenge. What seems to occur is that the adapter simply gets hot and it just stops operating. So I just used the supplied USB extension cable to bend the adapter away from any sources of heat and it seems to be operating fine for now.

Its a great shade of Blue Installs effortless too bad it doesn't function. It gets hot and disconnects each ten seconds. Attempted it on three best computers and identical concerns. Used other wireless adapters and no complications. You can see that several other men and women had similar issues. I guess its a cxap, I would steer clear of. Submitting an RMA now.

I have a D-link and a Netgear wireless USB adapter and both of those gave me problems. I'm operating Windows 7 and the Netgear randomly drops my connection. The D-link was in fact giving me a BSOD for some purpose, and gets about 30% signal from the router 1 floor below me. I plugged this TRENDnet in nowadays to my personal computer, and the initially thing I noticed is that my signal is virtually full. I couldn't anticipate 100% becoming that there's half a home amongst me and the router, but 90% is nicely above my expectations. None so far, and I hope none to come. This point isn't even that major, a issue I had with other adapters.

When it functions, it works. I gave it an extensive network test by playing Team Fortress 2 with it in Windows XP, and it worked excellent with maybe a lag spike or two each once in a whilst but barely noticeable. When I reinstalled my Desktop from XP to Windows 7, it initially worked, but it randomly died a handful of days later. Difficulties ranged from no wireless networks becoming detected, Windows 7 saying the point was disabled and wouldn't allow, drivers not installing, and the diagnosis wizard saying the USB adapter had a difficulty with it. There's a thing hugely incorrect with the drivers for Windows 7 with this point. Realtek needs to get their act together with Windows 7. This issue barely operates for it.

Quite easy setup, downloaded drivers from www.Trendnet.com, I normally skip the installation disk and go for the latest drivers. Took about 5 minutes to set up fully, 3 minutes was repositioning the adapter for the greatest signal strength. (Parallel to the antenna appears to be the very best for this unit) Thoughts you this may possibly be classified as an installation from hell contemplating the distance involved, the number of appliances involved, and the other negative aspects to deteriorate performance in my home. This adapter is installed in the family area, which is situated in the northern finish of my house on the very first floor. The wireless router is situated 90+ feet away, upstairs in the master bedroom, amongst these two devices lay a kitchen with microwave, a laundry space, and two televisions. (Can you say EMI Hell?) As a test, I fired up every appliance and then tried to connect to the net from the family members personal computer. Worst score, 86% signal strength, 11Mbps connection. I am very pleased. Didn't buy it sooner. Adapter is installed at the end of a 10' USB cord, tucked behind a china cabinet out of sight. The unit comes with a 3" USB adapter plug, tried plugging it into the back of the laptop but didn't get extremely excellent signal strength. I am certain for a laptop close to the router it may possibly be useful. www.speedtest.net reports a 48ms ping, and a 3.24 Mbyte/sec outcome with all the appliances running. I am using the Trendet wireless Configuration utility by the way.

operates well installed on XP sp3 with no mattersgets fantastic signal a single floor up from router dropps connection from time to time but it could be the old Dell desk leading not the card. I got this for my space mates Pc so he had wireless and stayed off my laptop. It worked nicely enough that he was pleased and so was I with the cost and getting my laptop to myself. he did say it would sometimes loose connection but his pc was a cranky old pentium three Dell optiplex. I have not tried it on newer superior hardware.

It looks good. Very simple set up. When it does find a signal, it is quite sturdy. Can't hold a connection. Attempted it on Windows XP and 7. It tells you you have World wide web access but as soon as you open a browser it starts looking for a connection once more. Did not hold up well at all in a storm. If you find a spot that has a excellent connection for additional than a few minutes then do NOT move your Computer. I discovered 1 spot that worked fail-totally free all day only to have my bf move my Pc and now I can't get it back.

It's inexpensive. The linux distros I use come across it and load rtl8187 together with related modules. Seems to perform OK: right now I downloaded various gigs of software program with numerous background connections whilst websurfing: a number of of my dozens and dozens of downloads failed and had to be redone, but that could be associated to the servers It's not seriously quickly. It does get a bit warm. Saw it initially in a neighborhood shop so I didn't basically get from newegg. Purchased it to temporarily connect some of my to network with no running cable

Incredibly simple to get up and operating, fast connection, so far so superior. Windows 7 32 bit discovered it quickly and updated the drivers. As advised I did not use the enclosed computer software just plug and play. none but I'll maintain my alternatives open. Oh yeah the plastic flip cover is a discomfort but uncomplicated to remove I have mine inside an older Computer connected to a internal USB port with the router about twenty feet away in a closet. So far no issue with the signal and no breaks in connectivity as far as heat it does get warm but not hot. I don't know if the included software package was causing difficulties for others or not but with W7 32bit it's not necessary just plug in update drivers and your excellent. Streams SD Netflix just fine, bottom line I like it and for ten bucks if it craps out I'm not out that much
