Only one problem
Comment:
My only issue with this card is that the faceplate for the ports was sticking out from the card too far. I couldn't get it to fit in my case, as is, so I had to unscrew the plate from the card and let it sit loosely to BARELY fit in the case. It was still a tough squeeze. I've had no issues with the card's functionality, just with it's fit. I don't know if my case was an issue, too, but be prepared to spend 30 minutes getting this guy in there.

Not built to spec?
Comment:
Either two PC's I tried this card in did not have their mother boards mounted correctly or the space for the USB ports in the rear of the card was out of spec. Firewire functioned flawlessly.

Electronically perfect-Poor mounting bracket
Comment:
I am using Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. It works perfectly. However, the mounting bracket is poor and not to industry standards. In order for the board to seat correctly in the motherboard I had to cut off the very end of the mounting bracket, and bend slightly the lower end of the bracket where the IEEE ports are located.

Good Deal
Comment:
If you need extra 2.0 USB ports, and as I did a firwire connection, this is the card for you. I had an older external HD that used a firewire connection only - pre 2.0 USB (it was faster than 1.0). When I upgraged my CPU I fournd oops! no firewire conectivity! This card saved the day.

Not bad...
Comment:
I'd ran out of MOBO headers, and couldn't hook up my front panel USB and Firewire. Worked great on first install. If you loosen the bracket before installing, and then tighten it after the card is secured, the alignment isn't nearly as bad of a problem. Pros: TONS of ports, PnP, extra power connector for USB charging of phones, PDA's, etc. Cons: I have an Asus M2N-E MOBO, with a southbridge heatpipe that goes to a copper fin cooler next to the processor. There's a substantial increase in heat coming from my southbridge now, probably because of the extra BUS and all the extra juice. This also increased my idle temp on my CPU (a hot set of fins right next to it). Some after-market copper VGA sinks on the southbridge solved the problem. Something to keep in mind.

I bought this product because I needed an internal FireWire connection. Product works as it should. Ports do not line up well at the back of the computer case but I knew that going in.

Did exactly what I bought it for
Comment:
I bought this card because my MOBO had run out of headers for my Firewire and USB devices and ports on the case. The first one was dead when it arrived but was replaced quickly and without having to return the dead one. The second one works like a charm, now all of my Firewire and USB ports are funtional. As mentioned by others better documentation would be nice but no drivers required and easy installation make is great. No problems with mounting it but the ports are a little out of line with the case so a little effort is required to plug in to them the first time. That's why I gave the 4 for quality.

Worth the extra money.
Comment:
I got this because I ran out of USB headers on my mobo. I first purchased a cheap copy of this card from another online vender, saving about $5, and what a mistake that was. The cheap version was DOA and not even worth the return shipping to get my money back. Having purchased many Ultra power supplies with great success I felt good about buying this card. Ultra does not make junk. This card was simple to install and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Do youself a favor and stay away from the cheap copies of this card. Spend $5 more and get what you pay for.

Cheaply Made
Comment:
Out of the box, the flange was bent. Very thin metal. As others have mentioned it has to be modified to fit. I enlarged the holes for the flange screws then used a dremel tool to elongate the holes. There are connectors that I don't know what they are for because of lack of information. Also you don't find out until you get it that one of the External USB and one Firewire ports are parallel with the internal ones so you can't use both at the same time. I still have to power it up to see if it works.

Almost great
Comment:
As others have reviewed, needs case modification to propoerly fit - if you can't (simple task)or won't don't buy. Otherwise great buy with no functional issues,

Works great but needed modifications
Comment:
This installed easily AFTER I cut the metal strap between two card bays. I had read other comments that the verticle arrangement of the USB ports caused problems. I first tried to trim the metal strip, but ended up simply removing the strip to gain access. It works well and provides good USB and Firewire connection.

Had to return this card as the fit in my PC case was too tight to allow plug-in of the serial port connectors.

Works like a charm with Windows 7!
Comment:
This card installed easily and with no problems on my home built computer (AMD 64x2 processor with Windows 7 OS). No problem loading drivers. Initially I could not plug USB cables into the card through the rear of the enclosure. The board required some alignment for the USB ports to be unobstructed from the back of the enclosure. This is a result of the board's vertical placement of the plugs (nearly the width of the board) and very likely the design of the computer cabinet.
