- WD- Very good Price- 7200RPM - It arrived DOA I have requested an RMA, but Newegg is expecting me to spend return shipping for a DOA drive, which is absurd. I have e-mailed them and am awaiting a resolution. I anticipate to get a replacement, mainly because generally WD is great. This drive, even so, arrived defective and wouldn't pass Sensible diagnostic, which is rather troubling, coming from WD.

None. Dead on arrival. I bought this hard drive on 2ተ񳏋, but didn't get a opportunity to develop the pc i was going to use it in till 4ባቧ. The hard drive was dead on arrival which I didn't uncover out until the make date. Its too late to RMA via newegg, so at the moment im attempting to RMA via the manufacturer. We'll see how that goes and I'll report back right here following my findings.

i played it secure & stuck with WD.glad i did.no issues practically a year in.have two of these operating in raid 1 ...nicely computer software raid using server 08 r2's dynamic disk feature. appears to operate just fine. none, very good drives.

Very good value, fairly rapidly and quiet. I ordered two of these drives, and one did not operate. Windows installed but rapidly became unreliable and eventually wouldn't boot. Ran a test on it and it failed. Like a lot of people right here have said, I've employed WD drives for about 15 years without having any issues. I'm going to replace this one, but I don't know if possibly this model has some sort of defect, simply because it seems like a lot of individuals are experiencing issues.

None, that I have found. Bought four drives for use in a raid setup. 1 drive failed following 9 months, an additional immediately after a year. These drives consistently run 10-20 degrees warmer than my other drives (including a 10,000 rpm drive with my OS on it). I want I'd study some of these testimonials prior to getting this piece of junk.

Fantastic price, substantial drive... Initial drive was DOA... sent it back, got a replacement. Won't pass Intelligent test in BIOS. Second drive DOA. In all probability a excellent drive if you can really get a single that performs. I'll attempt a various model.

My personal computer recognized it right away, all i needed to do was assign it a drive letter and it was excellent to go. none As soon as again WD lives up to its reputation.

Massive capacity? three out of 5 have failed within the very first month. Ɣ in raid 10, 1 as backup for those). With them dropping this swiftly I decided to get 5 new Samsung drives. Hope they fair superior. WD actually let me down right here :( I've bought hundreds of their drives.

it's huge. or major sufficient for me. the cost was great. none i'm using two of these. 1 in a new develop and a single in an older construct. each have worked fine. neither has the OS on it but in each boxes the OS in on western digital blue HDDs and no difficulties with them. a even though back newegg changed the way they ship these. it's considerably better now, thanks newegg for listening.

Price tag for specs was great. Vendor is respected. Two of three disks were DOA. Was really hard sufficient to believe that I spent a quantity of hours swapping out SATA cables, moving disks involving SATA ports and computers. But they were dead and failed Clever tests (short and long) inside 1.five minutes of test begin. Also failed straightforward dd of data (in UNIX). Right after seeing all of the other DOA reports about this model, I decided not to spend more time diagnosing (running vendor computer software tests was the subsequent step). Reading the 1 star reviews of other mfg's disks is disheartening. Any model that has a Big # of reviews (on Newegg) in similar category ƑTB SATA) has a lot of DOA reports. Is it just the industry failure price? Or is anything Newegg is performing contributing? (e.g. possibly their packaging and shipping need to have enhancements when dealing especially with disks)?

Who can beat WD? Drive installed without a hitch and method is up and operating 24ǝ. Newegg is the very best online retailer...bar none! none but...verify back in about ten years.

I can't actually consider of any. It had 1 job - to operate. I just completed developing my pc and my motherboard recognized the difficult drive but Windows 7 did not. I switched to the Caviar Black 1TB and it worked like it was supposed to. I feel this is a quite typical issue, either way, it didn't function so I can't rate it really higher.

performs, quiet, additional space than I will ever use none so far... I was nervous about my 1st make but immediately after some investigation I went with the "blue" because I do typical gaming but I wanted a thing great that would last for a when. I heard a lot about the noise of the black so I played it safe. and I went with the 1TB even though my last comp only had 250mb( and i nevertheless had some left.)but for about 10 bucks you can double your storage? of course i will

Working with this as media storage drive/back-up in Win 7 Media Center. Not as boot. Has been running 24ǝ with no difficulties the final couple of months. Incredibly quiet. None but (knock on wood!) Drive came nicely packed in two layers of large bubble-wrap and then in a box of foam peanuts.

500 gig went out with energy supply, so I stuffed in this 1TB, not considerably more quickly than the 500 gig at 16 meg cache compared to 32 meg in the 1 tb. A complete lot more space is a plus. Fantastic item and only time will inform!!! None other than could be a tiny more rapidly

Big, rapidly, and low-cost. None encountered. I cloned my MythTV install onto it with dd as a backup; the approach went flawlessly, writing to the whole surface of the disk in the approach. Upon booting with the new drive, almost everything was in place and funtional.

7200 I didnt think the other adverse critiques. This was my initial terrible WD drive. The drive got hot. Go with Black or Velociraptor. I still really like WD just not there Blue series.

Almost created it. Initial drive ever to fail on me. FAILED. As I create this CHKDSK is still attempting to recover the drive ten% performed....1 hour now. In regards to my final overview of the "New Drive" ƒት񳏋 3ᚳᛔ PM), it failed. CHKDSK had a field day with it. So RMA here we go.

I bought two of these earlier this year and they are still are performing nicely. Good storage drives for the price. Easy install and Western Digital tools makes it simple to set up and diagnose. Bought a third drive last week and it arrived D.O.A. Drive would not enable formatting below Windows 7, formatting would merely run for hours with no result. When operating Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostic it revealed several errors. I've bought a lot of drives from Western Digital and this is my initially D.O.A. I hope this is a one time deal and not an indication of what's to come from Western Digital.
