Comment:
Keeps CPU quite cool, looks good, only ุ Installation directions not quite clear I located out that Intel recalled the stock heatsink that came with my E8400 Dual Core, and I discovered my CPU was running as hot at 92C with it running CODMW2! Idle temps had been in the 60s :-/So I picked the Zalman based on great evaluations and its copper appear matched the interior of my ASUS P5Q Deluxe mobo really nicely. Once I installed it my idle temps dropped to 35C and runs in the 50-60 variety when stressed! So much much better than that IntelMy only complaint is that I spent way as well lengthy trying to figure out which clip to set up it with. The guidelines are a bit confusing. In the end, I just created it appear like the image and almost everything was ok.

The heat sink was little enough to fit into my midtower perfectly. I was working with a stock heat sink for an AMD x2 6400+ 125 watt CPU and that was idling about 41 degrees C. With the newly installed Zalman heat sink + Arctic Silver five my temps dropped to 30 degrees C at idle. 11 degree drop! Impressive. If working with an AMD socket the fan is able to rotate < 180 degrees. Good for perfecting case airflow. Individuals stated it was loud? I have it operating max rpm and its about as loud as the stock fan. Get this fan + heat sink. Effectively worth the price tag. Great improvement over stock AMD fan.

Make confident you check and see if the case you have can help this fan. This is my 5th Zalman fan for CPUs. I have generally they seen them to be the quietest and coolest for CPU usage.

I put this on a Intel Core two Duo 1.8ghz, have it up to two.8ghz no issue the temp at idle is 42-46, under a load 52-56 C, and with stock cooling it was a 50-65 C all the time.uncomplicated to install Fins are a tiny bit sharp but what ever just don't pick it up incorrect ZALMAN IS THE Greatest!

Just updating following additional than 4 months with this cooler. My temps dropped (as anticipated) on my Phenom II 720 on an AM3 board soon after a couple of weeks of operation, and it regularly keeps my CPU in the low 30's Celsius and rarely has to spin up to complete speed except when playing very processor intensive games.I had no challenge installing the clip and it doesn't seem to be coming loose or sliding at all. In truth, contrary to what an earlier poster stated, this was 1 of the much easier installs I've performed. It runs incredibly quiet on both complete and higher speed, although other reviewers noted big noise challenges. Mine has exhibited no noise troubles, and is almost certainly a single of the quietest fans in my case. Based on the complaints about the noise though, it could be an problem this model is prone too considering that there's a quantity of complaints. Mine is whisper quiet even though. The incorporated thermal grease is fairly weak. I didn't use it this time, but it looks like the similar grease packet they incorporated the last time I got a Zalman solution, and I later replaced that 1 with Arctic Silver and the distinction was very significant. I didn't encounter the noise difficulties others complained about, but the frequency of the complaints do indicate this model may be problematic when it comes to noise. Mines run for over 4 months now with barely a whisper, and has cooled fairly effectively, so I'm pleased with it.If a person could delete my old evaluation, that'd be fine. This review says fairly significantly the identical as that a single, but I figured it'd carry more weight now that I've been working with the HSF for a number of months as an alternative of the ŕ day to 1 week" timeframe of my old critique. I genuinely want New Egg would let us delete or modify old reviews.

Copper! Pleasuring aesthetics. Keeps my e8400 at space temp idle, wether winter or summer with no ac. never goes more than 45c beneath loadin winter! 50c in summer time! only two screws really mount the unit... I know Zalman just wants to be different, but 4 pin pwm capabilities and 4 bolting points are just plain apparent requirements. Any engineer would happily pick 4 screws over two, in particular when the supplied 2 piece base mount attaches thru 4 points and has four points to screw into. It's not that tough or pricey to do! This is My 1st Zalman heatsink... I've stared at them for years, but the lame speed controller and not so snug two screw mounts have often scared Me. It does what it's supposed to do yes, but i can rotate the whole unit a bit in either path. I won't waste my income on Zalman again. There are plenty of other copper heatsinks with solid mounts and higher cooling capabilities..

Looks nice, cools superior than the stock Intel heatsink and fan It runs louder than the stock fan and although my motherboard has a smartfan handle, I've never had the fan run at a speed exactly where it was quiet. You have to get rid of the motherboard from your case to install this cooler unless you are doing a new construct. Its a hassel, but install the cooler is pretty uncomplicated when you have it out. I had a lot more difficulty removing the stock Intel heatsink than I did installing the Zalman cooler. Possibly I'm just an idiot, but I had a bit of confusion at 1st figuring out that you only use a single of the integrated clips to attach the heatsink to the motherboard. There is a clip that snaps on and one particular that screws on. I utilized the screw-on 1 as it seemed to hold stuff considerably additional securely. If you have any troubles, go to the manufacturer's webpage and they have a basic animation of the course of action. Fits fine on a GA-EP45T-DS3R motherboard

I have 2 of these. One particular is excellent. It is powerful and quiet. Fantastic design and materials. Easy to install in AM2/AM3 program. Actually took 3 minutes to install.... ...The second one is a different matter. I installed and uninstalled the similar day. Very loud fan no matter what speed it operates at. Either the fan is out of balance or the bearings are defective. This device is now sitting on a shelf. I have been a Huge Zalman fanboy for years. I use Zalman items exclusively in my systems. This is the first and only Zalman product that has not lived up to expectations. It seems from the testimonials that this distinct model has some noise concerns. Appears I got lucky once, but not twice.

Keeps my AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ at roughly 30 degrees idle and under load at about 45 usually 50 if I leave it at load for a complete night. See other thoughts I don't know if it is this unit or one of the fans on my case (Antec Nine-Hundred) but there is occasionally a weird noise coming from 1 of the fans.

It cooled my Phenom X4 9950 at 3GHz ྭ-ᡇX) at an idle temp of 39-40C (about 7-8C below stock fan) LOUD LOUD LOUD...I study all the critiques and discounted the "It's actually loud/annoying tone" mainly because I have under no circumstances had anything but wonderful merchandise from Zalman. Even at stock CPU speed ƒ.6GHz) it would not go below 2000rpm and as one more reviewer place it "my wife complained about the obnoxious sound from the subsequent area over" (I got the similar). I have presently removed this from my brand new Pc (it's now a quite โ paper weight) in exchange for the stock AMD Al-Cu Heatpipe fan which is whisper quiet even at 2900rpm. I expected a LOT additional out of some thing with the Zalman name on it. My preceding personal computer I utilized the CNPS7700 鲸mm fan) and even at it's max speed of around 2000rpm it was barely noticeable (slight whooshing sound). I don't know what else to say other than if you have a Phenom look elsewhere.

not overly expensive. Really small and cute, honestly.cools my oc'd intel quadcore @ 9x multiplier & 356 fsb. none. I accidently sortof lightly punched into it when I was creating my pc. It cut my knuckles up a little. I didn't understand it, though, until the blood had dried up. Pretty gnarly. I utilized to have a black/greenled 9700NT which cooled properly, also. I kinda wish it had a 3-pin fan so I could hook it up to a three-pin controller, but that's not anything to complain about, certainly.

Attaches solidly to systemboard; effortless to install; light weigh (important for vertical circumstances). None. Installed on an Intel DG45ID to replace a quad-core stock cooler in an Antec case. Straightforward to insall but needs removal of the systemboard. The stock cooler would sometimes function itself loose and the cpu would shut down. With the new cooler, the chip runs 20 degrees f. cooler since of the enhanced contact with the cpu (I employed the thermal paste that came with the cooler). This is the second time I've had troubles with Intel pop-in heat sink/fans. From now on, I'll install a Zalman at the get started since it attaches considerably additional securely. I like this model due to the fact it is fairly light weight.

First off the create top quality on this is prime notch. The base is perfectly flat and polished to literally a mirror finish. And despite the elaborate fin and heatpipe construction every little thing feels incredibly solid. Performance also dose not disappoint. There are heatsinks that will outperform it for max cooling but not several that can do it with so little air flow. Ironically this heatsinks largest problem is the fan. Zalman utilized to be identified for quiet heatsinks but from an acoustic point of view this fan is plain terrible. I have this installed in my HTPC and there is a continual bearing noise that is present regardless of what RPM the fan is operating at, you can lessen it but it will generally be there, even at sub 1500RPM speeds. Zalman's past fans have not had this challenge. This is actually my third sample of this heatsink so I know its not an isolated dilemma. The mounting program is also a step back. The 7xxx mounting method employed screws to secure itself to the socket. This makes use of a clip method which doesn't feel almost as secure and is close to impossible to take away in a tight case. This is nonetheless a excellent heatsink regardless of it's weaknesses I wanted to like this heatsink a lot more having had good experiences with Zalman in the past but they seemed to drop the ball on the particulars.Zalman needs to get back to their roots in regards to their fans, an effective heatsink style is pointless if the fan is plagued with bearing noise. They must also go back to the mounting system utilised in the 7xxx series, even if implies a custom bracket. The clip was definetly not a pleasant knowledge and a step back.

It cools incredibly properly. It's smaller and lighter than my Arctic Cooling 7, but it brings my CPU temp down several degrees lower. Significantly quieter than stock coolers. It's a small tricky to install until you figure out how to hold it since the fins are fairly sharp. I would certainly think about purchasing one of these once more for my next CPU cooler. It's nicely worth the value.

Contrary to what I read, the installation of this on my AM3 board went smoothly and I had no troubles at all. It keeps my cores on my Phenom II 720 at a very good 36 idle with the fan turned down by the PWM. It makes no true noticeable noise when it's running, absolutely not the type of noises others have encountered. The thermal compound it is packaged with leaves a bit to be preferred. Like with most HSF's, I would advocate picking up some Arctic Silver or some thing equivalent rather. To me it appears like this HSF is prone to having poor or noisy fans, but it's not a certainty. Mine has been whisper quiet at high and at low, but enough people have complained about it producing a lot of noise for it to be clear that it might be a fault this model is susceptible as well.

Temps on my AMD Phenom 940 dropped from 45 Celsius to 35 degrees idle. 55 Celsius load to 43 degrees load. Not seriously positive about the guy with the 3 degree drop, 29 is a lot low to begin with, and he must be glad with a 29 imo. In addition, it depends on room temperature too certainly. 29 is 84 degrees fahrenheit which considering room temperature is about 70-75 degrees, that's properly within optimal operating temperatures. It is sort of tall and could not fit all applications. I have used Zalman products for very some time, I didn't see a drop off in performance compared to the 9700.

With the fan installed, soon after playing Crysis on high settings for 30 min the temp was 52c, soon after removing the fan the temp went up 2c. Soon after lapping the cooler the temp was only 47c (w/fan removed). You’re kidding, it’s a Zalman. No over-clocking here, I wanted a gaming computer without having stability issues and that would slice via games with ease at a reasonable expense. I am building three gaming computers, one for my son, wife and my self, all with this Cooler. Lots of copper! its fairly physically appealing, but its a laptop or computer part... LOUD AS #$@%!!! it sounds a lot more like a window fan than a computer system fan. Much less efficient than an artic cooler 7 or a coolermaster gemini II... 2 point mount is weak and enables wiggle, even tho they use a 4 point mounting back plate. zalman's mounting styles are sadly flawed. I got it to replace an ac7, it hasnt performed as nicely. it has been replaced by a cm gemini2, which is the greatest of the three. all on q9550 in antec 900 case and also in a 4u rackmount Arc server case with 1 120mm fan front and 2 80mm rear... I REFUSE TO Acquire ZALMAN Goods Any longer! Why pay additional for a much less powerful and substantially louder heatsink/fan? get 1 of the other two i mentioned, you'll be a content comper..!!

I have a Pentium 4 HT (LGA 775) it runs at 24C at idle. If you are looking for the best CPU cooler on the marketplace, this is the finest one out there! Incredibly Quite! Really Cheap! Get it! Mine for some reason tends to make a incredibly low vibration in the fan. You can only hear it when you open the case and get close to it. I believe the fan possibly bent of some thing. I don't know what i should do about it. Get this Cooler! It's the ideal!
