Keeps my Intel Pentium d 940 three.2ghz 95W CPU cool and that model is a known oven for a CPU. I am carrying out a rebuild of my method and I was capable to get an am3 conversion retaining clip so i could carry more than the 775 heat sink to my AM3 develop. Great solution with years of use nonetheless in it. It is a little on the heavy side but it shouldn't harm your board AS Extended AS YOU USE THE FRONT AND REAR BRACKETS. Failure to use them may well result in the weight of this factor (I have read at about 900 grams) may well harm your board. This Heat sink is compatible with other chip standards you only need to have to get the proper retaining clip.

Offers sufficient cooling (use AS 5) far superior to stock intel fan . I was hunting for quiet operation like I got fm my VF 1000 gpu or my vf 700 cpu coolers . Not as pleasing in that regard . General not a dealbreaker . Overall performance is much more essential to me . And my case seems to deaden the sound . I'm not obsessed with silent ops so it's not a difficulty .

Keeps things cool. I have a two.4ghz Core2duo running at three.2ghz and +.75 volts with Arctic Silver 5 and the temps are the similar as just before overclock/volt. The only purpose i dont go larger is since it isnt steady with any other settings i have attempted. not simply because of heat. None

I purchased this cooler for a laptop I am operating on. It has a Pentium D with the stock cooler. I'm not sure why, but the stock cooler couldn't keep up with the processor operating at stock speeds. Even jsut running BIOS, the temps would run up previous 68C. I removed the cooler and reinstalled numerous times with heat sink compound, no help. I installed this Zalman 9500 and what a difference. Even with CPU intensive programs operating, the fan never ever comes off idle. I'm impressed. The mounting is slightly distinct than what I originally read about, only four knurl nuts hold the heat sink to the M/B, but it appears fine. None that I can consider of. Now the particular person who owns the computer won't want to throw it in the trash. LOL!

Very good hunting cooler with a ton of copper fins. Performs like a champ. Relatively straightforward to set up. Excellent of this cooler is amazing. Wished I would have purchased and installed when I upgraded my motherboard. It was effortless but still a discomfort to take out the mb and the install the cooler base. No fault of the cooler by the way, just saying... Don't mess around with any other cooler. I study all the reviews and bought due to the all the 5 egg responses. Very pleased!

Ordered a single of these final year to replace a busted AC Freezer 7 Pro. Amazing efficiency. Temps in my system by no means went higher than 35 although beneath load and overclocked to 4GHz. I sold my CPU and this heatsink and the overall performance for the next guy was even superior. 19c @ idle in a crowded HP microATX case. Had to bend some of the fins to fit it in the case but it was worth it. Needs a bit of function to mount but I'll gladly take apart my complete program to mount a heatsink rather than be concerned about plastic pins breaking rendering my computer unusable till I can uncover a Excellent heatsink. The fins are a tiny flimsy. Manage it with an open palm or hold it by the bottom. The flimsy fins come in handy if you want to "modify" (aka mangle and bend) in order to match into your case like I had to.

Using it on an I5-750 operating with an overclock from two.67 to three.1. Lowered core idle temps. from 35-38 C to 27-30 C. My greatest load temperature dropped from 75 C to 62 C. Like other individuals have pointed out, watch out for the fins - they are sharp.

Cooling is really about the best you're going to get with an air cooler. Possibly a couple superior ones out there, but nothing at all beneath this price tag for positive. I can't feel additional people today aren't complaining about the fan noise. It's not stupid hair dryer loud, but it's the loudest CPU cooler I've ever set up when at total speed. It requires a couple seconds to ramp up to speed for the duration of power on, but then it's effortlessly the loudest fan in my case. I'm positive the cooler is installed correctly. And the noise is not coming from the cooler getting loose or anything. Pushing lightly on the fins does not make the sound go away, so it's not a vibration. Throttling the fan back a bit in BIOS does even though. It's just the air turbulence whizzing previous the fins. In the finish, the cooling is what counts. I've lived with loud PCs for the longest time, so it's not a huge deal to me. But it was substantially louder than I expected. -1 egg. For these strictly seeking for fairly elements, appear elsewhere.

Produced from copper. Good radial design to the fins. Quiet. Fits nicely on the 775 socket. This baby dropped my CPU temps 17C over the stock cooler operating Prime 95. Installation was effortless but my case has an inspection panel. If yours doesn't you will have to pull the MB. Requirements adapter to fit the 1366 socket but the cost is only Ů for that so I'll be trying this cooler on my other rig quickly. Quite nice cooler, the temps are stunning. The edges are not sharp so substantially as thin, which suggests you can't slide your fingers along it repeatedly or it will cut you considerably like a paper reduce. It is fairly quiet. It is quite significant. The mounting bracket is plastic, which tends to make me a little wary setting my computer system on its side with such a hefty cooler being held on to a plastic bracket, it would be much better with some metal threading for the screw holes in the plastic bracket.

Does the job, CPU stays AVG of 39C. Fairly quiet. Satisfied with it. Manual Was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! It doesnt explain almost everything and i had to check on the net to set up it. I got cut whilst setting it up. When you start the comp it make a loud noise but when windows is open and operating the noise level goes down. Proper now i cant hear it at all. I wanted the Zalman 9500 with the blue LED lights and the fan controller but i created a error. I though this was the one particular i wanted and purchased it off anther web site brand new (I'll do more study just before acquiring). But w.e. At least my CPU is cooled and the blue LED ill buy them off Newegg some other day. BTW when setting up please place the TWO screws!! I thought it was only 1 because it felt flimsy but no. The mount is study, you will need to apply a lot of force (for constructing a laptop or computer) to set up it properly.

Good fan... My Idle temp was about 40 degrees Celsius, now it is around 31 degrees. Playing Left 4 Dead 2 maxed out the CPU doesn't even reach 40 degrees Celsius. I have a Q9400 Quad LGA775 the bracket fits with no problems. You WILL have to take the motherboard out of the case. Nonetheless, I also used some Silver Arctic Thermal Paste. I would suggest working with it more than the stock paste supplied. None, just careful be cautious and you wont require Band-Aids from the fins :D. Just make confident your case fits this thing. Like many customers have stated. It is alot larger than the picture tends to make it look. Just take your time getting rid of your motherboard and installing, screw down the cooler evenly.

This item is well produced and undoubtedly lives up to the five star rating that it presently has. Though numerous have mentioned that it was tortuous to set up, if you have a lengthy Philip's screw driver it may be simpler than removing the preceding heat sink. Once installed the product is solid and with incredibly incredibly tiny play. Temperature drops in my Asus P5Q deluxe were dramatic and if you exhaust your case out the top rated, you can mount it with the fins oriented up and down in line with the vertical air flow. The cooler also ventilated the motherboard heatsinks with higher efficiency that the stock Intel cooler. Running at complete load, I have not exceeded 52 C after attempting for 1 hour and the cooler fan toped out at 1680 RPM in order to retain that temp. The thermal paste that comes with the solution is not what I would contemplate top rated notch so provided the installation difficulties that some are getting, undoubtedly invest in a greater thermal paste. Whilst the fans speeds that had been necessary to hold my setup cool had been low, I did test the fan at total speed and it is absolutely audible. So despite the fact that in my circumstance it is whisper quiet, I can picture that some of the hardcore OCs will uncover that they may well be testing the upper limits of the fan's rather noticeable output. Overall, it is a excellent solution that will do a super job at whisper quiet levels for most finish users. I would recommend this cooler devoid of hesitation.

Fits nicely and looks excellent in an NZXT Apollo situation with EVGA P55 SLI motherboard, Fan is quiet on low and not too loud at full speed. Mine came with the hardware to mount LGA1156 and cools an i7 860 with no issues. Can be pointed in any course - mine is pointed out the back of the situation. Had to take the motherboard out to mount but that was expected so not actually a con. Metal can be sharp, but not as well undesirable. I was cautious and didn't cut myself. In case everyone is wondering, fan blows air via the cooler rather of sucking air through. My Core i7 860 was hitting almost 90C with Prime95 making use of the stock cooler. The Zalman keeps it at 32C idle (with Speedstep enabled) and keeps it beneath 60C whilst gaming.

Very first of all, this point is enormous, but smaller than i expected. bigger the fan=more energy. and thats what it presents. all round Excellent fan. dropped my 55C idle-85C complete load (stock fan :[) down to 30-40. Astounding. I utilized stock fan for about 3 years, yeah i know...they suck, but I under no circumstances had any problems with it, gave me superior temps. But it is old now and i upgraded to this. Excellent Fan. Left my computer on for hours now, nevertheless nice 30-40 temps. Now this is the trouble. You HAVE to take out your motherboard to install it. The instructions aren't clear AT ALL, and the cooling compound included sucks. I necessary a companion to aid me install this bad boy. but it's worth it. The fins are sharp and CAN cut you if you press also tricky. screwing it to the base was tricky since the fins got in the way of the screw (at least for me). That's about it, hence the 4 eggs. - Ultraquiet compared to my old (now dead) Thermaltake Fans.- All copper heatsink- Heatsink and Fan tiny/light sufficient to fit two of these on Intel Skulltrail D5400XS - Installation assistance clip not compatible for ALL LGA 775 boards. Through installation of these fans, I had to take a dremel to the mounting brackets to make them fit devoid of contacting the heatsinks about the CPUs. This isn't a massive deal, however, I can never use the Zalman speedy installation spring bracing clips anymore (Though I prefer the brace I have to screw in place anyway, so not a critical deal for me). Ok, first off... Before any individual belittles me and says the Skulltrail isn't an LGA 775 board, it ONLY supports LGA 775 heatsink/fan assemblies even even though it is actually a LGA 771 board. That getting said, these fans are seriously good. They don't weigh significantly a lot more than the Thermaltake Fans I previously had a single there even although they have additional height and likely put more torque on my board than I like. Thermaltake Fans were shorter and about 100 grams lighter, but I'll just have to be extremely careful when moving it about when cleaning and upgrading it. These fans are so quiet I keep opening my case to make certain they are nonetheless operating.

Dropped my CPU temp from an typical of 50C down to space temp (ㅔC) and system temp is down about 10C too. Beneath load with more than-clocking enabled (which I could not do at all with the stock Intel fan) the max temp gets up to what the regular idle temp applied to be. Nice!A friend of mine has a water cooled system that does no much better at idle operation though it does much better beneath load. Installation is not straightforward. Take your time and stick to instructions and be very very cautious of the sharp fins. The way the heat sync aligns with the rear 120mm fan in my situation permits all the heat from the processor to immediately exit the case and keep the internal temp down though not recirculating the hot air back through the heat sync. Outstanding style idea.
