The fan was rather simple to install with a new motherboard and is really quiet even when the CPU is below high load. With a I7 950 the average temp stays in the mid to upper 30s idle with max load ƒ hour burn in test max load on all cores) it peaked to 56 degrees. The thermal paste that comes with the fan seems of a incredibly poor quality, luckily I had a tube of Arctic Silver from a preceding develop. I would highly suggest purchasing thermal paste separately. This fan is not configured for a socket 1366 motherboard unless you buy the separate bracket for about 6 bucks, but the separate bracket works extremely effectively at securing the fan and seems essentially greater then the stock bracket the fan comes with.

This cooler seriously performs nicely. It keeps the temps down and it's quite quiet when the OS boots. I have a Quad Core Extreme operating at about 36C idle. None It's a bit bigger than I had believed, which wasn't a challenge for me but if you have a tiny case or if your MB components are close together it might be an concern. Verify the manufacturer's website for spacing requirements.

Looks great and keeps my CPU under 50 degrees under load. It looks very good too and isn't as massive as some of the other comparable coolers. I've got it in an Antec 300 alongside an HD 6850 and there's a lot of room. You have to take out the mobo to install which is a good excuse to clean things up. Its a bit additional time consuming but the install is extremely secure. Blades are sharp. I've got a sliced up forefinger and thumb to prove it. It can be a little tricky to get the screws tightened depending on the amount of room in your situation.

It does the job really nicely. Installing it was a bit tricky. Make sure that when you're putting the clamp on that you only tighten the initially screw just enough to hold it on.

I like the style. All that copper is amazing. It keeps my Core i7 860 at really nice temperatures. Did a great job on my Core 2 Duo e6600 that I had prior to the i7 from back in 2006. WAY far better than intel's stock cooler, read further to see exact figures, but I was so close to 80 on the stock cooler (doing just standard things, installing, loading BFBC2 map or two) that I by no means reached 100% cpu usage mainly because I was scared to see what the number's would be. I think perhaps I reached 70% at 1 time for maybe a second on one particular core and it jumped to 77! The stock fan is tiny, and it was on full RPM. I wouldn't use the thermal paste that comes with it. Get some Arctic Silver five along with this; the smaller ten dollar tube will last thru at least ten CPU installs, and never ever "goes negative".The paste that came with this seemed to leak a tad, as the sticker that was in the bag with it looked greasy on the back. This is, hands down, the best LGA 775 socket heatsink I've ever owned. Keeps overclocked cpu icy cold.Super effortless install.Looks cools too. I can hear the fan if not playing music or gaming. But it's not also loud or annoying. I'm operating an Intel Q8200 two.33 ghz overclocked stable at 3.15 ghz. There is so much copper surface location on this device, it really keeps your CPU ridiculously cool. I don't overclock my Q6600 and I run this HSF with the fan turned OFF. (the case is wide open even though). There's so considerably surface location that convection and ambient airflow is enough. Like everybody else has said, the fins are RAZOR SHARP, be careful. And you will likely need to dismount your motherboard to install it. Not truly a con. I consider it would be silly to not consider this HSF in a build. It rocks. i have an old intel qx6700 cpu on which i had been utilizing the stock fan/heatsink until it broke earlier this week. based on the reviews right here, i decided to give this zalman fan/heatsink a try. the zalman fan is so amazingly quiet compared to the stock intel fan/heatsink. i had gotten so employed to the loudness of the intel that the quietness of the zalman could take me a few days to get adjusted to. operates like a charm. enjoy it so far. also enjoy the swift and effective service at newegg. not a fan of getting to take out my mobo to install this. not terribly tricky to install, just a small bit of a discomfort.

effortless to install on an AM3. Quiet and reduced my temps from 55 stock to 41 though playing COH. 50c beneath full tension test of 1055T will all six cores maxed. didn't like the speed control so I just connected it to the board straight. Wish it had a 4 pin fan. I am a skeptic but was impressed at the lowered temps. the fan control does not allow the fan to reach full rpm. 1000 to 1700 rpm with the manage, 2400 without having. I will use the manage on my wife's computer system exactly where quiet is paramount.

Quality, cost, quiet, actually does the job! Directions, won't function if you have large RAM heat spacer that stick up over additional than an inch (guessing, I didn't measure the space) from the top of the module (which I thankfully don't). Will lead to geek excitement, which you may well have to hide from lady. This thing rocks! It lowered my Core2 Quad o/c to three.45Ghz temp by about 30-40F or a lot more more than the stock intel heat sink. The bracket process is seriously nice, it uses a hand screwable "bolt" and washer technique, then you screw the heatsink to the bracket. Two sets of directions came in the box, one looked like an older bracket method that didn't come with my heat-sink, the other directions didn't in fact totally tell me how to install. I advocate becoming familiar with the parts, go to the producers website to see a video on how to screw the heatsink into the bracket, then think about how it all functions prior to preceding. Dont know, I don't have all the components to mount it however, see cons... Missing the mounting brakets, tryed to RMA it through Newegg and Zalman but newegg said they would get back to me by the finish of the day and I have heardn't something but and I have summited an RMA over at Zalman and have heard absolutely nothing also, going to wait a the weekend to see what I hear. If I dont hear anything by monday it goes back to newegg.... Looks cool, but I actually wish I could give this a shot in my process...

Wonderful!! Extremely simple to install. Super quiet and super efficient. It may possibly be enormous, but it nonetheless fit with my 2 Nvidia 8800's. The only con is that I didn't do this a year ago. I had so several issues with the stock fan that came with my Intel quad core. Any time I played a game, The Sims 3, Dragon Age (neither extremely graphically intensive), the processor would heat up and the fan would crank to a loud, high speed. Now I can set COD Black OPS to its highest settings and and I don't hear a single thing. Random overheating shutdowns appear to be a thing of the past!

Light and not too major, doesn't interfere with any motherboard elements or the side of my mid-tower. Never noticed the fan noise. Supports PWM. Keeps my core two duo 2.53 ghz at high 30's idle, close to 50 load. These temps are great, but for such a low power CPU they need to be far better, thinking about the price of the cooler. It's a excellent cooler for mid-powered CPUs, but I would look for a various a single if I had a more rapidly CPU or a quad core.

When they said this issue was large, they meant huge! I was a little concerned it wouldnt fit in my case. Installed in minutes, I was placing onto a new mobo. Haven't stressed the cpu yet, but idle temps have already dropped three degrees C! none suitable now Fins are flimsy, so be careful when installing! They could be little razors if you hit them just proper!

Quiet and effective. Fins a bit flimsy but not adequate of a con for me to demote an egg. As mentioned prior to this point is a little heavy on the mobo. I guess the fins could be sharp but i didn´t cut my fingers. Install was a piece of cake. I had no complications with it at all. Clearly buy superior paste. The junk it comes with is a joke. I am operating an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200. Idles at about 30°c and with a excellent load about 35°c. Stock was 45°c and with load about 55°c. Even when the fan kicks up in speed the only way I can tell is with my monitoring plan. Do yourself a favor, if you are in the industry for a cooler... purchase it.

Installation is reasonably effortless if you assume it through ahead of starting. The cooler now comes with the mounting components for LGA 1156񳁳 CPUs so a separate kit is no longer necessary. The cooler looks great and does a extremely fantastic job at keeping the CPU temperature continuous at low (quiet) fan speeds. This child dropped the temp a great 10c And you can only tell my pc is on when it initially powers on, from then you have to look at the led on my case panel since it is so quiet now. It has taken awhile to get all of my cooling fans replaced with quiet runners but now it's carried out. The directions give you a small help thats all. Lots of languages but no real guide, the photographs are worth ten,000 words. Cautious or get the band-aids out, the heatsink fins are sharp. Trust me unless you are a pro at installing these fans you had far better take a few moments and orient the entire issue on your board so that you know how it installs or you will most likely harm your cpu. For most installs you will will need to take the MOBO out to install the heatink properly.

It cools my AMD 965BE quad underfull load 58c (Stock 81c)Incredibly quiet even fan on max speed.AMD ppl uncomplicated install NO motherboard removal needed. It was a little massive for my acrylic case (Sunbeam UFO ACUF-T) but thats ok, obtaining a new a single anyways :). Maybe they really should make a 80mm cpu cooler with dual fan (in/out) so I can close my case.

Purchased this cooler about Oct. four, 2009 for an E6600 at a sister internet site mainly because they offered free shipping. Due to the fact then, it has kept my temps about 29 deg.
