this thing keeps my CPU temps amazingly cool even on complete loads. super quiet!!! fits in a standard ATX case also the mounting brackets can be a tiny tricky at 1st and some what really hard to screw down with the massive heat sinks the heat sinks are quite sharp, i cut my hands up a handful of instances receiving it secured in my case. but nicely worth the effort :)

Wow, the new style is awesome - keeps cpu cool as anticipated. The heatsink and tube seems larger then the older version and seems less complicated to clean. Installation is a hassle. You should purchase this if you have mid or full size tower!idle went from 41 c to 24 c , load went from 58 c to now 34 c and fan speed in no way got more than 50 %.Failed to grasp how enormous this actualy is, but it clears sinked chipsets np. Had to take away mobo for back plate mounting bracket installation, had to take away video card, vga cooler, energy supply to install. not really user friendly securing the brackets as i had to stand the board on its side to line up the bracket on the back side and front side at the similar time while screwing it together. some of the screws applied to hold the sink down are beneath it and require u to angle the screw driver to fasten so you will need a handful of inches in each direction. lines up completely with rear case fan, but with led fan in back and side you cant even inform the heat sink fan has an led. if you have a side fan that is straight above the cpu on the side, this massive sink may possibly be a difficulty.

I ordered some Arctic Silver five thermal grease. I tested my system 1st with the stock CPU fan, then the heatsink with Zalman's thermal grease, and then decided to apply Arctic Silver 5. The average temps during a complete CPU load (in celsius) were as follows: 47, 39, 30.I am extremely delighted with this item and would advocate it to any person. High-priced cooler (imo), but worth it. My Intel Core I5 stays at 19-20C idle (depending on the core), and under no circumstances gets above 40C. It's massive; absolutely not a CON per se, but just make confident you have the room for it.Also, the copper blades are sharp. Watch out for them, or you'll be cleaning blood off the motherboard. This is my second Zalman. I'm replacing my water cooling unit with this. I have two boxes both have Zalman fans. This fan is effortless to set up and works greater than Water cooling. None Looks cool in the box too.

Installed on AM3 based ASUS M4A79T Phenom II x4 965 140 watt chip, in a HAF 932 Complete Tower case. Literally took me ten minutes to install! It dropped my temps 10-12 degrees Celsius instantaneously! Really uncomplicated for AMD install, and there was no will need to eliminate the Motherboard. Intel install looks a small much more involved. Why didn't I put this in when I built my system final year! Some folks have stated that they had either cut themselves or had bent the fins although installing this. Effectively the manufacture has created this fool proof actually! When you open your new box the heatsink and fan have a plastic sleeve wrapped about the fins to protect it through shipping, simply install leaving this still intact wrapped about the fins, then meticulously cut with scissors the plastic at the bottom close to the base of the heatsink. and carefully pull away the plastic sleeve out and away from the fins. Leaving it on in the course of install will defend each your fingers and the fins!

Incredibly effortless to set up in my Antec case on my 3.2GHz AMD Phenom IIx 6 1055T . I had the stock cooler and O.C.d to 3.7GHz with my CPU temp @ 50-54c at idle! Now with this cooler, I am OCd to 4GHz and my temps dropped to 34c! I also have not maxed my load yet. AMD set up= piece of cake. Side note is my mobo is 10 degrees cooler as well! Its big! If u have the space its not a con as it does not block ram or something else.

After dropping this beast in to my case my temp shot down from 45c to 28c idle. with a little MOBO tweaking my Phenom II x4 965 BE is operating stable at 3.9 the temp hardly moved at all. Straightforward install on AM3 boards you don't require to take the mother board out for brackets. It just snaps proper on. The thermal greese that it comes with it worked just fine I couldn't think about arctic silver becoming any greater. It's a lot quieter than my stock HSF was that's for damb positive. I skipped out on the resistor extension I can't hear it over the low hum of my other case fans. LED matches the other blue LED's in my case and looks freaking gnarly. This thing is significant and in charge. I tricky to take out my power provide and video card to snap this to my AM3 board. I have a total ATX case and i have much less than half an inch of clearance from my side case fan, close call but all is properly. Unless you have a complete size case i wouldn't bother. Got this this on sale and for what I paid for it I'm content. If you're going to spend the full sticker value you may possibly as nicely get the 135mm fan version for a few additional dollars.
