Nicely made and conducts heat from chipset properly. (It gets uncomfortably hot to the touch.) On my chipset, NVIDIA nForce four, the heatsink becomes uncomfortably hot to the touch. I'm concerned that my chipset will be broken due to inadequate cooling. Other folks have complained of installation challenges, but with a bit of care the procedure went smoothly. I also discovered the surface of the heatsink to be be machined flat, unlike some other reviewers. I purchased this to replace a extremely noisy ASUS chipset fan in the hope that the passive cooling would be sufficient. However, I'm going to have to add a fan to pull some heat from the sink due to the fact it is so hot. It would burn me if I kept my fingers on it for a lot more than a couple of seconds. I'll post once more following I add a fan.

Less costly replacement then ordering a replacement factory component. Does about the similar job. Tricky to set up. I spent a fantastic deal of time creating positive the push pins lined up. You have to continuously adjust the metal arms until its ideal. Only lowered temps by a tiny margin, three'C and I have plenty of arctic silver 5 on the core. Does not contain any rubber risers for chipsets that do not have a heat spreader, so the heat sink teeters on best of a tiny core. Installed on a Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3. Fits with a Cooler Master Gemini II on the cpu.

Nicely created and huge adequate to cool most northbridge chipsets without having a fan if there is sufficient flow in the case. Mounting is quite versatile in design and style and will match most motherboards with holes for mounting around the chip. Tiny screws are tricky to get started. Preceding posters installation concepts are good guidance. I did the exact same prefit and tightening just before putting the thermal compound on. The heatsink is huge adequate to put a 25mm fan on the side which I did.

Functions excellent. Pretty painless to set up. none I have employed on for a number of years now on a NF7 board. I bought a different 1 mainly because the fan died on my K8N Neo4 board. My video card was a tiny major for it, but i just reduce off two of the prongs on the heat sink to make the video card fit.

I was tired of hearing the fan of my A8N-SLI chipset. I took it out twice to clean it. Finally, I saw this piece on newegg and give it a attempt. Yes, it takes time to set up it and you might be in suspence turning the Computer immediately after. It sits so close to my XFX 9800. No room for a second video card.

Silent and won't break like a fan. Time consuming to install. I had to eliminate my motherboard from my case, all to put in the pushpins which took all of 1 minute. Most of the time was spent taking it apart and placing it back together. I have a K8N Neo2 Platinum. I got this cooler simply because the northbridge fan that came with it lastly died because it was a piece of junk and now it would overheat. Thank goodness for this heatsink. I have heard of other folks with the same mobo acquiring troubles with the video card conflicting as the AGP socket is extremely close to the northbridge chipset. I have a stock 7600 GT and it worked fine with lots of clearance. As extended as you don't have a big video card it should fit perfectly

Install was uncomplicated adequate. Solved my A8N-SLI chipset dilemma for excellent. Quite tight fit, much less than a millimeter of clearance. If I ever get a new GPU for this board (doubtful, but who knows) I could have to break out the dremel. Nevertheless gets rather hot, but good luck maintaining an NForce4 cool. Don't place the pushpins into the bracket until you are positive of the orientation you want, ignore the instructions which tell you to do that initial.

Excellent low-cost replacement for but yet another A8N-Sli Deluxe board. Runs cooler that the original heatsink which essentially shocked me. Provides you one more cause to re-try cable management. None, some people don't like to take their MOBO's out of their pc's but I don't mind. Extremely recommended!

Operates good for those Mainboards with sink/fan combos that die right after 1 year. Keeps the chipset cool and stable. Have also applied them for video cards to make them quiet. (NOT high end ones) Even comes with compound to save funds. None. I have bought 3-four of these all profitable fixes.

I purchased this to replace the Northbridge fan on an Asus A8n-Deluxe motherboard.Temperature of the Northbridge chip has not risen above 34C considering that installation.Able to hold off on an upgrade a small longer... A little tedious attempting to get the brackets adjusted just correct ahead of attaching to the motherboard.Had to eliminate MB from situation to eliminate the old fan :( This heat sink is surely worth the hassle of removing the MBoard. I no longer want to worry about the fan failing and the chip is staying reasonably cool.

Right hole placement for By means of EPIA 10K board. n/a It's a little late to overview, the laptop was in service for 3.5 years soon after the sink installation, in various temperatures. Unfortunately, the calibration tables for EPIA 10K are bust and so I can not tell the true temperature readout in degrees. I just know the raw numbers didn't go up when compared to old low sink with a fan. But everything seems functioning fine.My mini-ITX chassis has a case fan, so airflow across the sink exists. It's not convection-only.Zalman sink is tall, so demands clearance above the mobo. It's ok in a Shuttle-like chassis.

Looks good. Probably works properly if you have the correct motherboard Integrated kit only functions on motherboards with holes around the North Bridge. Attachment with the included components doesn't function if you're replacing a cooling device that has prongs that fit into loops in the motherboard.Specifically, did not perform for an ABit IC7-Max3. If components exist to make this operate for such a motherboard, it would be great if the guidelines pointed out them.

Makes it possible for me to run my desktop Computer with no the original noisy chipset fan. Doesn't seem to cool considerably far better than the original heat sink did with the fan disconnected. The original heat sink fan combination kept the temperature at 41ኋC at Idle/Load respectively. W/O the fan the original heat sink kept the temperature at 44ኍ. The Zalman heat sink registers 43ኌ. The Zalman heat sink is a lot much more enormous than the original sink. I consider the reason it doesn't perform as well as it could, is that the original sink had a gasket that surrounded the chip which probably forced much more of the heat into the sink. Just guessing. On my board (ECS nForce4M-A V3.) the Zalman was simple to set up by re-utilizing the clip that held down the original heat sink.

Operates and is quieter than the stock fan for my mobo. does not have a fan but this makes my case quiter. Utilizing it on my Asus A8N SLI deluxe. When i went to pull off stock fan, pulling up on the springs got the fan off. Cleaned up the old thermal grease and even even though this heatsink did not fit 100% it was an simple install. Add the springs as close to the heatsink as feasible and just place on this mobo slightly off center and the springs will bend sufficient to go into the holes on this mobo. I am not certain why people complained about thermal grease given that the springs will hold the heatsink on tight enough.

item was effortless to set up... as other reviewers have recommended, align the holes in the retaining arms to the mounting holes surrounding the northbridge then tighten down all the wayran the msi core cell program... northbridge temps are very good getting to take away my motherboard to clip the pins of the old northbridge fan

Affordable, i type of like the blue color, no cost shipping. The true greatest part is how you can customize the mounting to fit your board. It just barely clears my Tuniq Tower tho. Its a lot better than the annoying fan my 750i had just before. It's truly tall and could hit CPU heatsinks and graphics cards dependent on where you put it. Fits on my EVGA 750i motherboard.

I have a DFI DK 790FX motherboard with a tiny little heatsink on my north bridge that runs way to hot for my liking. The dilemma was the heatsink was so tiny that i wasn't positive this would fit (and it barely did). The pins holes on my board were 40mm apart from each other and this factor covers them when lined up as it should be but I had to get creative and move the push pins on the heatsink around till I discovered a way to line them up. As soon as I did I identified myself extremely lucky that i could sneak it in among a capacitor and my PCIe x16 2. slot. It doesn't appear as even though it ought to be there but it confident did fit. immediately after I got it in there, I stuck my HD4850 back in there and the metal bracket on the back of it holding the video card heatsink to the video card hit the top rated of the Zalman and popped one side of the Zalman out. So I pushed it back in with no difficulties but it produced me worry that it may pop off randomly but so far nothings gone incorrect with this unit. Like I mentioned it looks as even though its out of place and crooked on my black and yellow DFI DK 790FX board but no difficulties. No windows on my case any longer for men and women to discover. I'm just so glad it fit and the Zalman thermal paste isn't half undesirable.

Blue shape tall design is great function to have. Installation approach makes me puzzled a tiny bit as to using hook, but it was not tricky at all. Wish there is some sort of thermal past spreader. I am working with Abit K7 motherboard and its northbridge chipset is really hot. Replacing lousy stock cooling fan with this heatsink is not a excellent thought. Later I want to add fan on it.

Works nicely as a heatsink, installation was uncomplicated. Can\'t Overclock this device. The Nforce4 ultra is a very hot chip. this heatsink worked far better than my OEM, But, to get temps down you have to have a fan or a Properly vented situation.

Silent and ease of installation. Package comes with a thermal compound. Big in size. It might not fit if utilizing tow video cards. Created of aluminum. If I can go back, I'll order the ZM – 32K instead. It's the exact same size just smaller in height so there's no issues with your video card. Finally the fan on my ASUS A8N-Duluxe gave up. I researched about for the very best repair and this is what practically everyone is making use of. It fits perfectly on the mounting holes. No concerns installing it about my EVGA 7600GT V-card.

Large, heavy Doesn't fit north OR southbridge of my motherboard, regardless of the reality they each use common mounting pinsOther solutions perform fine and advertise the precise very same dimensionsterrible engineering, and a dissapointing itemEven if I applied thermal epoxy it wouldn't fit my southbridge due to overlapping a mosfet. Once again, other solutions function fine Definitely a waste

My Motherboard had these super tiny annoying fans that made lots of noise an didn't move any air. I replaced them with this guy and had superior cooling with no noise! Mounting hardware felt a little clumsy. I have been utilizing it more than a year with no problems so I guess I can't actually complain. They are significantly larger than my stock heatsinks, If you have a significant CPU cooler and a poorly placed north and southbridge, a dremel might be required to remove some fins. I measured and knew this beforehand, make confident you do the identical.
