Simplest new install I've ever accomplished and I've make lots of computer systems. Mounting holes lined up, I/O shield went in nicely with out extracting blood, CPU discovered 1st time, Memory found 1st time and each at right speed. Every thing was extremely nicely laid out and effortless to hook up/find.For a cheap board I didn't have to any of the usual nit-choosing and bug hunt I commonly do. It was so fast and easy there was no sense of accomplishment when the system was all collectively. Its a no-frills board and don't expect overclocking and a bunch of extras. But for a swift, basic, simple to make machine I've never ever had such a good expertise in the dozens of inexpensive builds I've carried out.

- all about a decent board - hella inexpensive!- using a 'real' CPU is far better then an atom resolution any day (i have 2 atom boards) - Onboard Sound difficulties from the begin - terrible quality. I tested with 3 unique power sources, spread spectrum choices in BIOS on/off, checked WinXP selection 'use hardware' on/off, three diverse driver versions and reinstalled OS - sound is nonetheless awful (it sounds like it's getting more than amplified). Truly no big deal thou... for 40 bucks Im not complaining, ill just pick up a sound card.- Had some troubles with board not recognizing a couple USB sticks I had to set up OS - ultimately got it to recognize my SanDisk Cruzer 4G as a boot device. - no CPU voltage settings- no HDMI/DVI outputs

The motherboard nonetheless operates. However, my buy was prompted, in portion, by the more savings that depended upon the mail-in rebate. This is a follow-up posting to my October 2010 posting...well I sent all the documentation for the mail-in rebate final October and no rebate verify. I was cautious to follow the rebate instructions precisely and supplied all the required documentation. Apparently, Zotac does not honour their mail-in rebate presents. So, I'd recommend that you not obtain a Zotac solution based upon a mail-in rebate. Manufacturer Response:Hi musiccobbler,Sorry to hear you have not received your rebate verify yet. For rebate inquiries, please speak to our rebate division at rebate@zotacusa.com or fill out a Assistance Ticket and a representative will be content to appear into the matter. I got this motherboard for a media canter Pc that I was building. It is significantly greater than I expected. No troubles however, installed in a synch. Video card handles much more than I thought. None so far. A much better video card maybe? Bios aren't great, but I don't program to play about in there considerably. It is a media center computer, and mostly demands to stream world wide web Television and play movies. It does that just fine as is. I purchased this one because of cost and then did some investigation and found a lot saying that the 6100 graphics would not be in a position to handle blu-ray. That is not the case. I am currently able to run blu-ray on my make really very easily even though I am only operating it at 768鼐p).AMD Sempron X2 2.2GHz2Gigs 800MHz RAMnVidia 6100 integrated graphics

Inexpensive No Wake on USB. Though there is a USB jumper and a bios setting that is supposed to permit for wake on USB, apparently the engineers forgot to truly implement that featurePc hangs on boot when a USB card reader is plugged in I got this board to build a little pc to spot beneath the kitchen counter and be in a position to use it with a wireless mouse. Nevertheless the laptop won't come out of standby with any usb mouse or keyboard, which signifies I want to open the door and press the energy button every time I want to use the pc.I also got an external card reader to be capable to watch pictures and videos but the laptop hangs up at the splash screen, so I have to disconnect it and then connect it again.

Worked in my HP Slimline3100n. Replacement from HP wasn't an choice... Energy leads on factory energy provide won't attain connector on Zotac mainboard. Replace PS with Apevia ITX PS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148044) and SATA energy adapter. Stock CPU cooler requirements replaced as well. 90 mm heat synk and fan don't enable clearance for CD/DVD drive. Use 70 mm or smaller heat sync and fan. Seems to run cooler than the original HP setup. Cooked two of the HP setups just before switching to this configuration.

This board is ideal for a household server. Just slap in a low TDP 45watt to 65watt CPU and you're fantastic to go. I have mine set up with Windows Sever 2008 R2. No troubles for the duration of installation and server deployment. Lifetime warranty is a major plus, too. The nVidia chipset can get quite warm, I highly propose possessing some airflow more than it to avoid the dreaded "nVidia death", which is common for nVidia chipsets. Although for a household server atmosphere, every thing about this motherboard is fine. I wish there was a low-cost ITX motherboard like this that did have PCI-express 16x slot (for beefier RAID card), or more onboard SATA ports. Also, a greater VRM that permitted for higher wattage CPUs would be nice in case you wanted to FOLD.

It genuinely does support AM2/AM2+/AM3 CPUs. The Zotac internet site and user manuals don't mention AM3, but the motherboard was clearly labeled with AM3 support, and the CPU list is full of AM3 CPUs. Supports basically any contemporary AMD CPU with a TDP of 65W or significantly less, such as the most recent Athlon II X2Ǚǚ and Phenom II X2Ǚǚ processors. It was easy to replace the stock heatsink mount with one particular for my low-profile CPU cooler (Silverstone NT07-AM2). I just needed a modest flat screwdriver and a steady hand. The custom mount fit completely with no bending the motherboard. The motherboard header plate is flimsy and doesn't match effectively. S/PDIF header cable for digital coaxial audio output is not included. The manual has no directions on the BIOS. Also the onboard network port is disabled by default in the BIOS. Enable it before installing the chipset driver. This board isn't excellent for home theater. It only has analog sound and video at the back panel and 1 PCIe x1 slot. So you can either pick a Television tuner (and have VGA out) or get a video card for streaming video. There is an S/PDIF header for digital audio but no cable. The PCIe x1 ZOTAC GeForce ION-GPU-A-E and PowerColor AE4350 have HDMI and DVI outs. You could rig digital coaxial out with 'RCA VIDEO / SPDIF - PANEL F TO 1X3 F' connector from frontx[dot]com and drill a hole in the case.Top CPUs:Phenom II X4 910e | two.six GHz | 65 W | 45 nm | HD910EOCK4DGMPhenom II X3 705e | two.5 GHz | 65 W | 45 nm | HD705EOCK3DGIAthlon II X4 610e | two.4 GHz | 45 W | 45 nm | AD610EHDK42GMAthlon II X3 415e | two.five GHz | 45 W | 45 nm | AD415EHDK32GMAthlon II X2 260 | 3.2 GHz | 65 W | 45 nm | ADX260OCK23GMFor overall performance, stick with Phenom II. They run 65W, but have 6MB L3 cache. If heat and noise matter, get an Athlon II. They lack L3 cache, but only run 45 W. Get the Athlon x2 260 for raw

This is an awesome board for the price! Testing as a file server / cluster node. Just booted it up with a Pico 160W PSU (perfect for any ITX make), a 95W AMD PhenomII processor, and 2GB of DDR2 800 RAM. Definitely no troubles POSTing this board out of the box. I effectively booted a VMWare ESXI USB drive, and an Inquisitor Live USB. ESXI did not recognize the ethernet port, but that is due to the fact of limited driver support from VMWare (this isn't a server board, so I wasn't expecting a lot). Some folks want a x16 PCIE slot. But if you do, buy a different board! A 95W processor (this board is only rated up to 65W although) idled at 38* C. CPU got hot for the duration of strain test, and so did the elements on the board (partially due to the fact I don't have a quite good heat-sync).Booted from USB without any issue. Passed a four hour strain test quickly. No concerns.I have not tested the audio or video (except for a terminal display) so am unable to comment on those functions.

It's cheap, has the nForce northbridge and on-board geForce graphics. Has Gig-E on-board and a ton of USB headers. Coupled this with an AMD Sempron for my son - a huge upgrade. This works properly for what he demands it to do - which is just browsing the web and playing video games. Only two memory slots and no actual area for expansion - but that's quite normal for mini-ITX board. Audio high quality leaves a little anything to be preferred, audiophiles ought to most likely invest in a discreet sound card.

I've use to board to replace a terrible board on an HP Slimline S3100n, fits nicely on the slimline case, was in a position to use all the parts on the slimline except for the cpu heatsink/fan. the HP power provide has a mini itx connector while the zotac has a standard atx connector for the ps, had to modify the the ps connector, had to remove the ps connector from an old ps and solder to the HP powersupply, as extended as you match the colors of the wire, it ought to perform, been running the board for a week with no issues, plus you dont want to modify the connectors to the board, HP connectors plugs in proper away to the board. Hugely encouraged if you have a Hp slimline with a undesirable board. non so far.

four sata ports. RAID. hd capable chipset. AM2/AM2+/AM3 capable. Can play civ5 until you construct up some years in the game. Price tag. Low energy specifications. PCI-E 1x, actually how beneficial is that? Wireless card is about all you can stick in there, or now an ION graphics card is obtainable for additional than the board price :( I have had some issues with particular ram modules. Restricted to 65w processors(even even though i have run 125w phenoms). I began finding artifacts in Civ5 after i built up past 1200AD, in the boards defense i need to have never ever tried it on this board. I added a fan to the northbridge and havn't had any connected difficulties to overstressing it. The chipset this board has is notorious for failing immediately after 16-36 months. I have a stack of asus 6100 boards that failed and a handful of emachines and gateway towers with failed mcp430 chips. I originally purchased this motherboard mainly because i was jones'ing for an itx board and my atom 330 was not adequate for anything genuinely. I run an 18w athlon 1.6ghz processor without any troubles. I have run everything from quad 125w phenom II am2+ and 80w phenom II am3 chips, dual core am2 athlons ect. no issues with compatibility of processors. Ram can be picky, i have run good ram that locks the technique and poopy oem ram that runs fine so it's a gamble whats gonna operate unless of course you opt for from the qvl list. Retired to my server board. runs anyplace from 25-36w complete load with 1x7200rpm os drive and a 5900rpm green drive for storage. Significantly less power than my Foxconn Atom 330 and can playback 720p rips no dilemma. I would obtain a different if i required a properly rounded server board that could double as a media box if essential.

Affordable Wished it would perform one hundred%.This is the second 1 that I got by way of an RMA. The initially MB, the USB header ş & Š, when connected to a card reader ( Rosewill or any other card reader ) it hangs the boot procedure, for a good five - six minutes, although it would not hang up the boot course of action with USB header š.Now that I have RMA that MB, on the second MB all 3 USB headers hangs the boot procedure for about 4 minutes, when a card reader is connected to any of the USB headers. If I disconnect the card reader from the USB header it would boot inside 2 minutes (instantly). If any person has any ideas on how to fix this issue please let me know. I am questioning if this is from a bad batch of boards. Is there everyone out there with the identical dilemma.I guess I will have to RMA this one as well. Manufacturer Response:Hi 05pilot, There is a possibility it may be a setting in your BIOS. Please make confident your difficult drive is offered initial priority and its not attempting to boot from USB 1st. Booted up 1st try, no concerns. I will be installing Windows Property Server later on, but currently I'm running Windows 7 32 bit. This is my 1st Zotac product, so I'm interested to see how it performs. -I updated the BIOS making use of Zotac's Utility and it froze for about a minute (no applications or updates were operating), fortunately anything went by way of alright. -The box came in with a large hole in the side. Practically nothing was broken and this was most likely Puralator's fault -just annoying. Would have been good to get more than 1 SATA cable, but I can't complain considering the cost.I still have to send in for the MIR, we'll see how that goes.-Athlon X2 250 Ɠ.0Ghz) w/ stock heatsink-400W Corsair PSU-250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.ten for now, I'm still purchasing for drives for my house server. -2x1GB 5300 DDR2 Samsung RAM-Antec 300

- Wonderful value - prices fluctuate, but can be ridiculously low- Lets one use surplus DDR2 (& it's not picky about RAM)- Combined with a cheap Regor (or even Sempron) outperforms comparably priced Atom-primarily based boards- 4 SATA ports - Sufficient USB ports- I've had no challenges booting from USB flash drives.- gigabit NIC (see beneath for comments)- PCI-E- very steady when you got it to perform - Affordable components & inexpensive feel- No DVI/HDMI, so it's no great for an HTPC- No jumbo frame assistance, so not that excellent for NAS- An challenge with S3 sleep with Win 7 x64 & 4GB+ of RAM (see under for a solution).- Terrible on-board audio (the usual annoying noises when you move your mouse) - Higher DPC latency in Win 7 x64 with a selection of drivers (unusable for a lot of audio applications) I bought it for a friend who necessary a spending budget DJ rig, but it hardly worked due to latency difficulties. I tried to use it for a FreeNAS box - it sort of worked, but the NIC has no jumbo frames support (still, it performed fairly properly - just Allow the on-board audio or FreeNAS won't install). I ended up using the MB to set up a FreeBSD primarily based router (with a surplus NIC) and it operates effectively in this role.I can believe of 2 viable makes use of for the MBɅ. Enable S3 sleep in BIOS2. Move jumper labeled JPUSB (between VGA and system fan header) to the OTHER position, or your USB devices won't get energy in S3 (still, no luck waking it up with a mouse - keyboard functions fine).three. Cheap, modest, and XP seems to perform fine. No IDE interface. I thought it had IDE interface, but only SATA(I have no SATA CDROM Drive). No PCI E16. It would not boot with some memory module I had. So I believed the board was bad. Then when I place in distinct memory module, it posted. No IDE and all the CD Drive I have is IDE. It was challenging to install XP since it would not boot from USB flash drive(Just USB CDRom). I had to use one more laptop to put XP installation files to SATA drive, then install from it. The Video driver appears to require XP Service Pack3, so I had to install Service Pack3 prior to I was able to set up video driver. Fortunately the network card installed with no service pack3. The audio seemed to have some noise when I moved the mouse about, the it appears to be gone now. This will be fine as lengthy as I don't need to access any CD or DVD. The power usage posted between 50W-65W when I measured it with Kill-A-Watt. (My power provide unit is very old 1. Sempron 140. 1 SATA desktop tough drive. No CDROM.)

Low total expense of ownership: low cost AMD + low-cost DDR2 + cheap HDD = a (cheap) standard system; video is excellent enough and gigabit ethernet is amazing at this price tag point Boot from USB essential doesn't operate (works with USB DVD even though); runs at about 40C in my case with push-pull fan setup Employing for a property server and overall performance has been great. Even ran Windows Vail on it with no concerns. If you're seeking for smaller and simple, this is it. If you will need anything to handle many file transfers at a time, go with a greater socket mobo.
