Since I use AMD processors a lot , I always replace the box cooler with 3rd party coolers for peace of mind. This cooler works well and is great for budget builds. Not sure if it would cool a 8 core gaming rig set up but works great for my general PC use builds.

It's cheap and compact, provides good enough cooling, lowers my cpu temp 10c immediately. The finish is ok, it fits on the board nicely. However I'm getting this only to reduce the noise and I'm disappointed, it is definitely louder than the stock amd cooler, especially when I'm gaming, it's like a mini jet engine.

This cooler is super decent for the price. I picked this up a while back for $8 or something like that. Would be nice if it used a replaceable 120mm fan, but at this price it really doesn't matter. Got it because it's short so it fits well in my case which is rather narrow.

Easy install on oem mount points, for AM3+ anyways. It's not so heavy that you think its putting too much pressure on them. Used some high end ceramic thermal compound and its running my Athlon FX 4 core around 6-7 degrees at idle, 30 degrees at full bore.

A nice cheap fan for a budget system. Easy install. If fan stops working, you cannot just replace it with a standard sized one as there are no mounts for it. You'll need zip ties.

I initially purchased this hsf for my i5 2500k but my AMD HTPC needed a quieter fan because the old one sounded like a refrigerator. I'm glad I had this handy, it is so much quieter.

This is my first buy of this type of CPU cooler because I was always afraid it would put too much strain on the mounting of the mobo. But for 16 bucks, I just couldn't resist!The installation on my AMD Phenom is easier than I expected and although the performance is not that spectacular when I tried to push the overclocking, It's pretty good for everyday use.All in all, good bang for the buck.

Box arrived and it was the first thing I opened, came ready to mount, pulled off my stock cooler which became gummed up with dust very quickly, this cooler is much taller and the fins are wider apart, add to that a larger fan and it's an easy job to see why this is better, everything went together very nicely, the fan isn't interchangeable, and you can't add an extra one to the other side, but for $10 (after rebate) I can't complain, I've paid more for just a fan, let alone one attached to a hunk of aluminium and copper. Included fan isn't too loud. all in all a solid buy, even at full price.

I bought 2 of these at $17.99--one for an HTPC and one for my regular rig, whose stock CPU fan sounded like a plane taking off under regular load.A month in I'm pretty happy with the performance and stability, particularly on older systems without much control over them. The fans don't come with a dedicated fan controller switch, something that normally comes on a heatsink this good--but then again a heatsink this good costs upwards of $40-50, never mind 18 bucks. Still, you'll get the most of it if you have a built-in fan controller in your case--though even at full speed under full load, it's a big improvement over the stock fan. The heatsink itself is weighty (but not so heavy I fear about the stress it puts on the mounting; there are some real BEASTS out there these days), and feels well made.I've had no trouble with the height of it, but I don't have case fans on the side of my case, in which case you might. Be aware, the heatsink can be installed in at least two orientations, but the footprint is big--the heatpipes forced me to install it with the fan facing to the back of the case rather than up. This is standard, but may be of interest to you if you have one of those newer cases (the Bitfenix Colossus, etc) with top exhaust fans.

This is my second fan from Zalman, I also have a chassis from them. Always high quality products. I was a bit taken aback by the exposed copper heat pipes and previously the aluminum heat sink pad was built all the way around it creating a perfectly flat side to mount to the CPU but it's well machines and perfectly flat and when you use the thermal paste no problems with voids. CPU runs 32-35 on idle and only 45 under load (i7-4770). highly recommended!

Overall good performance for the price. Keeps my CPU nice and cool and I'm only running it at 1700 RPM. Seems to make out around 2800 RPM when the CPU is under heavy load. I was previously using a stock AMD cooler that came with my Phenom II X4 965BE and that thing would get very loud under heavy load. This cooler stays nice and quiet.I did however have an issue with my initial product. It had slight vibration, enough that it would amplify throughout the case and I could feel it on my desk. After thorough testing, I RMAed to NCIX but they found it to be "operating within normal ranges". I disagreed, so I contacted Zalman Support and they sent me out a new fan without question.Very happy Zalman USA took care of me! I replaced the fan and I am happy with the results, the vibrations are gone!

I just got this and installed it in place of an old stock AM2 CPU cooler. it's easy enough to install...except because it doesn't cover the whole AM2 processor, you have to try to aim it on. be sure to pre loosen the screws before placing it. it took me a bit to get each hook on properly.computer has been running for a few hours now.each core running at ~40C at 36% load (Athlon 64 X2 4200+)so, assuming it doesn't fall off (not heavy, but it seems tall and wide) it will be prime. totally worth it.

bought this cpu fan with deal price and MIR.MIR returned no issues.it supports both intel and amd cpus, with cheap price, i do not ask more.

It is a good fan for the price you bought, especialy if you upgrade an existing configuration. But it's not the most performant fan ever but it do a nice job.

After about 15 months it started making clacking noises at high rpm. Now about 24 months, playing anything that requires a lot of cpu power just makes the thing scream for replacement, it is now unbearable.

Great CPU fan. Had some issues with clearance, but that's more my fault than anything. The bolts on the side that hold this to the LGA 775 bracket, are long enough that they hit some of the motherboard heat sinks around my CPU. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-17-13 07:34 AM

Cheapest heatpipe heaksink to be seen for LGA1156 1155 775 AM3 AM2 FM1 socket. Without the spring loaded screw, it can be difficult to judge how much more need to tight/loosen the screw equally on each side so the bottom of the heaksink seat parallel to the top of the cpu. The instruction is unclear whether the screws should be fasten all the way down. If it is assume so, it seem too much pressure pushing on the cpu, don't know how much force the cpu/board could handle--maybe over concern.

Although I haven't overclocked my FX-6300 (yet), this fan keeps the CPU cool without making noise. Got it for $5.99 (after MIR) which was a steal.

This is a decent heatsink for $5 on sale. The fan is custom so you can't replace if it fails, but for $5 who cares.

This CPU Fan is amazing! I had a lot of thermal problems while encoding video... temp. rised until 80C after 5 minutes of encoding! Now i have been encoding video for three hours, temp. is stable at 32C. I can't believe it! I'm really satisfied.
