Pros: Works every time, never had one go bad, lots of external ports, 2 internal ports, and you get cables. Comment:
this card works great I have bought more of these then i can count, they never go bad, i have never had to use the driver cd, i have installed this into 2000 pro, xp, xpsp2 and 03 server machines never any problems. |

BEWARE: Not Vista Compatible
Cons: It states clearly on the front that it is Vista Compatible. However, after three rounds of trying to find the right driver to install, Vista will tell you that the Manufacturer has indicated that VIA firmware versions 5 and later are incompatible with Vista, and there will be no fix for this problem.
Pros: Would work great in a XP machine Comment:
They should recall all the pacjages that indicate Vista Compatibility - it is clearly false advertizing. |

Doesn't work with XP / no drivers on website
Cons: XP recognizes it but doesn't have any drivers for it. And there are no drivers on the Zonet website.

Internal headers are tricky
Cons: The internal headers have an awkward pin layout. USB header: 1=GND,2=D+,3=D-,4=NC,5=VCC1394A header: 1=NC,2=NC,3=GND,4=12V-VCC,5=TPB+,6=TPB-,7=TPA+,8=TPA-
Pros: No drivers needed with Windows Server 2003. Comment:
If you hook up the Firewire header incorrectly, the magic smoke will get out. |

bluescreen special
Cons: Caused random blue screens in Vista 64. Removed the card after a few days of running on a clean install and it solved all the probs and OS ran great after. No drivers available on their website either. Could use some risers on the inside on the card to use for front panel slots (firewire).
Pros: Looks nice and very useful. Couldnt pack anymore slots onto the back of the card. Comment:

Wish it fit in my case better, but overall good
Cons: The vertical configuration of the USB ports do not work with my case's expansion slots. My case may have thinner slots than others, I'm not sure. But testing the card before I had the mounting back on (so the card was "loose") worked fine, but once I put my case back togther I could not fit usb connections into the ports, my case interfered.
Pros: Pros is that it offers 4 extra usb 2.0 ports and 2 firewire ports on the back of your pc. Tested the speed of the usb ports with an external hard drive and transfer speeds were great. Easy installation, as PCI cards usually are. Comment:
With the rebate you cant go wrong if you need more usb and firewire on your machine. My case is an old Compaq Presario case from about 5 years ago. This card will sit on my self until I build a new computer this fall. |
