I had some trouble figuring out how to set up the software, but once it was up and running the scanner performed flawlessly. I am running Windows XP. Everything I needed was in the box. It was well packed, shipped and delivered promptly with standard shipping.

I spent a lot of time looking around for a scanner that was reasonably priced and had good quality. This scanner hits the mark! Right out of the box, without changing any settings, I was able to get good scans of slides and negatives. As I learned more about the software, my good scans became great! I am very happy with the unit and would recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting good quality but doesn't want to take out a 2nd mortgage to do it!!!

I used the scanner for all my old family slides. The unit works just fine, but it is a very time consuming task to scan a LOT of slides. If you have the time its a lot of fun to see old pictures that I know we all have and it saves them for the future. I took all my old family slides and made a DVD slide show for my family for X-Mass.. I know its going to be a big hit and is sure to caue a few tears..

This Plustek 7300 is about what I expected. I only tried the Quick Scan once and the image was a negative with no obvious way to convert it. The SilverFast software has a lot of features, many of which I don't understand. But the default color options are useful, and the dust removal very useful though it takes time to set up. Don't use the default dpi settings unless you want little detail. I find 1800 dpi a good balance between detail and speed. Final quality is quite good. Setting up each slide is necessary and very slow. An automatic border detector would help a lot, but I don't see that feature.

Excellent scanner for slides and 35mm film. Easy to set up and install. Produces very good scans. The only drawback for me is not having an adapter for old 110 film from box cameras.

I got the 7300 Film Scanner about a month ago to replace my old Primefilm scanner that had stopped working. The drivers and software installed easily and everything worked first time. I just use the scanner for family photos and so the quality is good for this use. I have scanned a couple of hundred slides and it seems to be a good, solid piece of equipment.

It was a big mistake for me to purchase this scanner. I get better images for a cheep HP scanner purchase used on eBay. The only good things I have to say about it are: I can scan at 10,000 dpi if I want, it is easier and more dependable to load, and it takes up less desk space. Nevertheless, I wish I could return it.

Scanning 3000 35mm slides. I am using a scanner program called Vuescan I found on the internet. Together I need no touching up of the final image.I have a Polaraid 35 which took me a half hour in photoshop to coorect the scan. This is so easy!

I have only used it to scan slides the quality is excellent. I am very comfortable with its capability. I use the QUICK SCAN feature and edit the slides with Photoshop Elements 7. It is very easy to use and even handles poor quality slides with good results.

For over eight years I used a SCSI-based Olympus ES-10 Scanner to move my 30 years of Kodakrome slides into a digital format. Should have bought this Plustek unit years ago! It is so much better, easier to use and setup via USB 2.0, and the SilverFast-SE Plus software that comes packaged with the unit is worth $100s of dollars by itself. Scratches are gone using the hardware based SDR Scratch & Dust Removal System. Some fine-tuning of the image is required using a stock photo-editor software such as Photoshop or Microsoft's Picture It!, but the jpegs are excellent. I can highly recommend this OpticFilm 7300 Film Scanner to anyone who wants to scan in their back-log of film and slides!
